From the outset, Rocky Mountain Custom Decks was outstanding. From the outset, communication about status, scheduling, etc was excellent. I had a small project and Nate didn't make me feel unimportant and worked to provide me with the best quote within my budget. His crew that did the work was outstanding as well. Very respectful, courteous and outstanding workmanship.

He had drawn plans for the project at first meeting. We discussed materials and other looks/accessories of Trex products. The project was started on time and ended on schedule. Nate did great work on the steps from the sliding glass door.

Nate did a FANTASTIC job on our deck. Very professional work ethics. Deck looks great and I can't praise him enough for the job his company has done for us.

We had Rocky Mountain Custom Decks build our deck about 10 years ago. My husband is an engineer and he was highly impressed with the work by Nate and his crew. So, when we decided to replace our front porch rails with Trex we knew who to call. When Nate started working on our porch, he discovered Classic Homes was only using 2x4 beams to support the roof over the porch. Classic built a box around each support beam so we never knew! Nate replaced them with treated 4x4 beams. Our porch was not level so he had to make several adjustments to ensure the Trex railings lined up correctly and looked level from the street, side of house, etc. He consulted with us each time to make sure we were ok with what he was doing to account for our builder's screw ups. It's nice to have a contractor that treats each project like it is for his own home. I fully trust Nate to give me a quality job every time. I wouldn't use anyone else.

Beyond outstanding Nate and his team were extraordinary on every level from initial meeting with Nate through full completion of the extensive project. Our advise is do not spend your time getting several estimates from other deck builders. Even though the ones we did get to compare were okay, in the end hands down, that was not necessary. Nate is everything he and his company stand for in professionalism, attention to detail, and especially superb master craftsmanship at their trade. I watched day in and and day out the skill and integrity of the builders, measure, remeasure and check again before cutting any piece of material. They had the detailed plan's in one hand and their tools in another, and were constantly leaning over these plans to be sure everything was completed with extreme accuracy. And, the workmen just really seemed to love fulfilling their craft. They worked long and hard. And Nate was proactive in communicating any reason for not being on sight any given day - which was only weather related. Pre, mid and post interaction with the foreman who was also hands on, on sight was extremely comforting. In conclusion, we opted for the more expensive Trex and metal railings and are so glad we did. We absolutely love our deck and highly recommend RMCD's as your first and only choice in deck replacement or repair. Marlen and Bobbi

Nate was very responsive in providing a proposal to do the work and gave me options on materials to bring the price into a range I was comfortable with. When I ordered the work he gave me an estimate on a narrow range of dates when he would have a crew available to do the work was able to start within that range. His crew was very professional and were clearly highly skilled. The project was completed within the time frame Nate indicated and the crew left the property thoroughly cleaned up. We are very pleased with the new deck and highly recommend the company.

They did great work and I would recommend them to anyone! We get compliments on the deck all the time and we love using it. (Our dogs do, too . . . :-) ) The deck is now five years old and still looks brand new . . . We did have them come back out to re-do something on the stairs - nothing they did wrong, we just decided to add something and that went well, too. Design ideas were great and timing was good. They were always at the job site on time and cleaned up each day.

Nate was very professional. He worked and reworked our ideas for a new deck and new shape of the new deck. After many design changes on our part. his company began work. His main man, Mike did most of the work. Mike was very prompt, very nice to work with, kept us appraised of progress, problems, areas of concern etc, and cleaned up the work area each day. Nate was kept abreast of progress, provided support during construction when needed, brought supplies, ran errands, took care of the building permits and prompted us (when applicable) to call for inspections. The entire job took about 3 weeks from start to finish; Mike worked through snow and very cold temps. We couldn't be happier with the results! The deck has gotten many, many compliments and we wouldn't change a thing! Thanks, Mike and Nate!

Contracted with Rocky Mtn Custom Decks in Sept .. due to a busy schedule on their part, construction started the latter part of October.  Once construction started the project progressed in a timely fashion.  My wife and I are extremely pleased with the whole aspect of getting the deck constructed.  If you need a deck built in a timely and professional manner with superb results, look no further Rocky Mountain Custom Decks is the company to employ.  Thanks again Nate for a excellent job

Nate and his crew, Mike and Eric, did a beautiful job! Their work was so precise and exacting! We are very pleased with our new one. Nate's plan and engineering was exactly what we were looking for! We had to get an exemption for the setback and Nate did all the coordinating with the city planners. Not a short process. We were able to have the deck cantilever out 5 feet from the support posts and it looks beautiful! Out of four contractor estimates and plans, Nate was not the lowest but his layout and plans were the best, and that's what we were looking for! We got our money's worth. His crew, Mike and Eric who did the actual construction, were very upbeat and friendly and everything was cleaned up spic and span when the job was done! Would highly recommend Rocky Mountain Custom Decks! Great quality work!

I have determined that I should provide specific comments as Angie's List says that I "will be held accountable for the accuracy of my review". I am not willing to take on any liability for my reviewing a contractor's work that could result in my having legal liability for. Since I was not happy with some of the contractor's process that will be all that I will say in this review.

Absolutely superb workmanship. Nate and crew were punctual, performed marvelously excellent work, and cleaned up after the job was done. Would not hesitate to hire Nate's company for future deck work. Highly recommended.

I got three bids.  Nate was in the middle but he's Marine so I went with him.  The quality of the work was outstanding.  The crew was punctual and cleaned up after themselves.  I had a 4th of July party after he finished and all the guests raved about the deck.  I am very happy with their work and highly recommend them.

It was pretty good.  They're very clean, quiet and even though it was snowy outside; they kept on working.  We really liked their work because there were lots of compliments from our neighbours.  We don't have complains.  They were good.  There's nothing negative; it was all positive.  It was fabulous.  They were good guys and down to earth.  The pricing was below than the others price.  We like the pricing because he gave us an estimate.  He stood it right there and then. 

We had an old deck hanging off the back of our home like many in the area (Pine Creek) and really wanted a nice accent piece to enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather from. We had seen Nate's Ad and called him and several others to come out and share some ideas with us. Nate had many so many great ideas and examples of work he had done in our area. I was even invited out to see one of the decks in progress to observe the craftsmanship and quality of the work prior to my deck being started. Nate and his team worked with us throughout the project. They were very patient with us when we had questions and made many recommendations that we never would have thought of. Additionally, they were very responsive to ideas and even changes mid-course. The craftsmanship was fantastic and the team never left a mess. Even after completion Nate helped us get in touch with other professionals to assist in long term care for the deck and some other outdoor repairs. After that huge (80mph) wind storm we had I called Nate to ask him about replacing some shingles that had gotten damaged. He called me back right away and scheduled a time after the weather improved to come out and take a look at the damage. Well, once again, Nate and his guys came to the rescue. Not only did they come out and look but same day repaired it like new. I came home from work and had a message from Nate on the phone letting me know the team had been out and repaired everything. fantastic. We have been very pleased with the great work Rocky mountain Custom Decks did on our home.

The overall appearance of the patio is very nice.  The staircase had to be redone within a year due to a settling issue - all was covered under his 5 year warranty.  Nate came back to redo the staircase on the weekend and after hours, which looks really good but never completed the finishing work for the top stairs or the bench seating as he had promised via email.  I just assumed he was too busy to complete the job and or didn't care so I wasn't going to press the issue any further.  Bad on me but with a new baby and military duties - I couldn't find the time nor have the desire to deal with the hassle any further.

This is a great small business.  The owner was very curteous and responsive to my inquiries.  The work his guys did looks very professional and it was done at $1500 less than the nearest competitor.  I would recommend this company to anyone. My only complaint is that he was a bit late to all of our meetings but he runs the business himself so I didn't mind too much.  Overall great job.

Nate Gregg and Rocky Mountain Custom Decks did a great job for us! They were very professional and know their business quite well. Mr. Gregg was very helpful as we were choosing materials and determining a design. The work was done in a timely fashion. They are very meticulous about the work and it shows. Great quality so that I can feel very comfortable using my deck and having friends over. I truly appreciated their attention to detail. When an issue came up regarding the electrical line that runs to our hot tub, they came up with a good, safe solution that was satisfactory to us and to the Regional Building Department. The deck is beautiful and we use it nearly every day. I definitely recommend Mr. Gregg and Rocky Mountain Custom Decks. We will use them in the future for additional projects that we are planning.

We solicited bids from five companies for a major reconstruction of a large deck.  Nate Gregg was by far the most professional and prepared when he came to the first appointment. While not the lowest bid, his professionalism made us much more comfortable with Rocky Mountain Custom Decks than any of the other contractors, and we were not disappointed.  Nate gave good advice along the way.  The work was done on time, as agreed.  The work site was left clean each day, as well as after the job was completed. The deck came out even better than we had hoped or imagined.  It's beautiful, functional, and adds significantly to the appearance, and value of the house.  We would highly recommend Nate Gregg and Rocky Mountain Custom Decks.

We contacted 4 deck companies and had them come to do estimates on the deck project.  Nate Gregg seemed the most knowledgeable as well as enthusiastic about the project.  A couple of the other quotes were a little bit less but we felt that they didn't really know what they were talking about so we went with Mr. Gregg.  We are very happy that we did.  Our deck and patio turned out even nicer than we had imagined.  Since it is a small business, Mr. Gregg went to the lumber companies and picked out each piece of wood,  

He prepared and delivered the paperwork to our home owner's association as well as applying for all permits.  We wanted to put metal tread stairs so that we don't have to shovel; our main entrance to the house is up 19 stairs.  He did the research and found just the stairs we need.  It snowed today and I had to shovel the walkway and driveway but the stairs are completely clear of snow.  The original stairs had no landing and were ugly as well as dangerous.  Mr. Gregg designed a beautiful entrance and even changed it at the last minute (even though they had dug the footer) because I wanted the steps to be more evenly divided by the landing.  He had no problems with changing the plan a little; he wanted us to be happy with the final product.  When my husband and I sit on the deck, we are amazed at the fine detail that went into every corner and joint.  They did a very professional job.

Another thing that I really appreciated about RMCD was that they cleaned up every afternoon before they left and put their tools away.  We have had other contractors that left messes that I went and cleaned up so that the trash wouldn't end up in neighbors' yards.  Also, they were very punctual.  When they said they started at 8am, they were driving up the driveway at 7:59.  Their schedule did not slip. The project was completed on time even though we had snow.  They came and shoveled the area.  There were no cost overruns.  We did do some upgrades like the metal stairs, stamped patio and no cost increase for changing the steps.
