Rocky Mountain Constructors LLC left my old rusted swamp cooler on the roof, and installed shingles around it, instead of removing it and capping it like we agreed, as is on the Contingency Agreement.
I was happy with the service initially, trusted Austin, the representative. I signed the Contingency Agreement, then signed the Agreement for work. The main reason I went with this company was their representative instilled me with a sense of trust and professionalism. BOY WAS I WRONG ABOUT THIS COMPANY.
When I returned to see the work, and pay Rocky Mountain Constructors LLC for the completed job, I saw the swamp cooler still on the roof. The roofers had removed the bolts anchoring the swamp cooler to the roof, and installed shingles under it, and did not bolt it back down either, leaving me with a swamp cooler simply balanced onto its vent on the roof, not even bolted down. I argued with Austin about it, and I was threatened with a court case, told they'd take me to court if I didn't pay, and said I'd signed an Agreement that didn't include removing the swamp cooler. I checked my paperwork, and although it was on the Contingency Agreement, it had been left out of the messy, hardly legible final Agreement. I'd been hoodwinked, then pressured and threatened if I didn't pay.
I offered to pay a reasonable fee for them to come remove the swamp cooler and just cap off the vent. I was told by Austin it would cost $2000 to return and make things right, and they had no intention of doing so. I was furious, felt like I'd been conned, as Austin had me sign the Agreement in person at the house, and led me to believe our Contingency Agreement was the same as the final work Agreement. He's a real pro when it comes to cheating customers it seems. He was ready to make a legal battle over the payment. I went ahead and paid him, and sent one final fax asking to please finish the job, and made it clear I'd pay a reasonable price for them to drive out, throw the swamp cooler off the roof, and cap it off. My request by fax was ignored, no call, no response.  I will NEVER recommend these jokers to anyone needing roofing work. They went out of their way to ignore their paperwork, and install roofing around a dead and rusted swamp cooler, and then threatened me when I was dissatisfied that they didn't follow the request and the Contingency Agreement. Their representative looked me in the face and argued that I'd signed and there was no alternative to the way things were going with the roofing. He refused to follow their agreement, and threatened me with a court case if I didn't like it.
WORST ROOFING COMPANY ON THE FRONT RANGE as far as I'm concerned. What business in their right mind would treat a $4000 customer like this, even after I offered MORE MONEY to finish the job correctly? Disgraceful, not a company I'd hire twice, that's for certain.

Scott Bisland at Rocky Mountain Constructors has been fantastic through the entire process. I received 3 other bids and Scott was very competitive with his pricing. We had the soffits and fence replaced as well as working with his partner Bob Davis at JB Masters to replace the gutters (different quote and price for the gutters than whats listed above).
The replacement was projected to take one week and that's exactly what it took. Dave (one of the installers) was fantastic in communicating with us during the entire process to make sure all was going according to our expectations. Scott showed up at least once a day to check on the job and if I ever had any concerns he seemed to appear out of no where to answer them. After the install we had a couple of little items that we asked Scott to fix and he made sure to follow-up immediately. It is hard to find a contractor that will continue to answer calls and take care of you even after full payment has been made, so many contractors just move on to the next job.
What impressed us the most was the little things he did that weren't even in the quote, he definitely under promised and over delivered! Scott realizes that the little things are what matters to homeowners in the end.
We decided to install pre-stained white wood pickets with steel posts. The steel posts are square and are hidden by a picket in front of them so you can't tell they are steel posts. The only concern we had is that there has been quite a bit of shrinking with the boards so the gaps are a little wider than we would have liked, I don't know if the cedar pickets would have had less shrinking or if the boards needed time to dry before installing them.
We will have more work for Scott!
