Rock Star Marble And Granite

Thomas Dowling and his crew are enthusiastic and talented granite craftsman.   He is very busy, but showed enthusiastic support to do the work in our kitchen.  He was helpful and very friendly to get the job done on our schedule.  His installation team was first rate.   I highly recommend stopping by his shop for an estimate and to get his candid opinion on your plans.  It isn't the glitzy showroom of many fabricators, just the busy shop where he does the work.  But he does first class work at competitive rates.

We had estimates from 4 other vendors when someone at Capco Stone and Tile recommended Rock Star to us. First off I have to say their price was the best of any of the estimates we got (by a significant amount.) We thought we could only afford granite in the kitchen but Thomas got us a good deal on the kitchen plus 3 bathroom vanities. Since we had visited several places with fancy showrooms we had gotten to the point of being comfortable with understanding the process and what we were looking for in granite. We went to Capco Stone and Tile (wholesaler that works with granite fabricators) and found a granite that we liked. They let you wander the granite aisles without any pressure.

That was a treat! We much preferred that than going to another granite dealer who only allowed us to see what stone they had while being escorted by a sales person who had their own ideas of what was best for us.
Rock Star does not have a fancy showroom as their fabrication shop is in an industrial area and they only do work there. Capco Stone and Tile has designers and they are more than happy to work with you for free if you want that aspect of service. There wasn't a lot of hand holding, but for us "value" (price and installation quality) were more important than bottled water and in house design centers.

The Rock Star team came on the day they said they would, letting us know before they left the shop when they would arrive. The granite arrived with no damage and was put in place in about two hours. Everything looks beautiful and they were careful to not bang up our house while carrying large pieces of rock up the stairs. You can't hook up sinks until 24 hours after the granite install. We had a minor issue when we found out the holes for the faucets were just a bit too small. They had fitted the faucets but not taken into account the space needed for the drain lever. I called Thomas on Saturday morning (when they were closed) and he had his team come out first thing Monday to make the small adjustments we needed. We couldn't ask for a faster response than that.

Rock Star is incredibly busy and runs a tight staff to keep prices down. Sometimes questions fall through the cracks and you will need to be persistent to follow-up. Don't give up it's worth it! Would we recommend them? Absolutely. We've already told several people about them. If you want an excellent value for your money than this is the team for you. If you're nervous and want someone to spend a lot of time with you and having an in-house design center is important then you probably need to look somewhere else...and be willing to pay for those features. Personally having the bathrooms fit into our budget was a HUGE deal.

My wife and I recently upgraded our kitchen with granite and couldn't be happier. The professionals at Rockstar far exceeded our expectations every step of the way. They were responsive to our needs and made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. The price quoted was exact with no hidden costs like you get with other companies. Their attention to detail is second to none and we are truly amazed at the finished product. When we decide to upgrade our bathrooms, Rockstar will be the only company we go to.

Thomas is the best in my book. He managed to save me a lot of money. Because of his efficient countertop layout I was able to purchase 2 not 3 granite slabs. The countertops are absolutely beautiful. The edges are well fabricated and he matched the seam perfectly. It cannot be seen. Rockstar's bid was quite a bit lower than others and his references were impeccable. Otha and the other installers were very helpful and a pleasure to work with. Call Rockstar. You will be glad you did.

Overall we are happy with the kitchen.

This is a "basic" operation; no show rooms or high class business environment. Blue collar kind of business environment. You pick your granite from a variety of qualities at a granite wholesaler and this company picks up the granite, cuts it and installs it. They showed up on time, did a good job and finished on time. Their cost was hundreds of dollars below the others in the Colorado Springs area and there were no last minute "add-on costs". They will not do the plumbing so you need to be prepared to disconnect and then hook back up the sinks and garbage disposal. They will remove the sinks and reinstall the heavy kitchen sink, but not hook up the plumbing. If you're looking for a "best value" operation that is a very reasonable cost, this is a very good company with which to work. They do what they say they will do for the original cost they quoted.

overall i was and am very pleased with the the way my counter tops and sink look. i am looking forward to him doing more work for me , as a small company owner myself, i would recommend him to anybody looking for a fair price and a great job
