RMS Sign Company

As an Art teacher I'm used to scrounging around for resources and supplies (as the school budget is limited). I called at least 6 local sign companies (near our school) asking if, by any chance, they had "scrap" materials to donate to our school; all companies *except* RMS said "no - we have no waste, we use everything". Having worked in the Design industry before, I know this simply isn't true. It's not like I was asking for brand new equipment or anything...scraps, little pieces, "bits"...the stuff that usually finds it's way to a dumpster. My students can work miracles with that stuff. Anyway...it took two calls to reach Nick in person so I assumed it would be another cold shoulder, but NO, not only was he agreeable he was enthusiastic and "more than happy" to help our program out. We were given a specific date and time to come by and pick up the stuff and a fellow employee (Laura ?? ...I don't quite remember her name) cheerfully handed over a generous box-full of sticky sign-film. **note**...as bonus karma points, this business now gets to write off this "donation" on their 2008 taxes as we are a public school. Bummer for those other Grinch's (who I won't name here) - but guess who our teachers are going to recommend from now on?
