Not well. Grout around the bathroom floor began to split and crack almost immediately.  The owner of RJL said he would return and seal it.  He never did.  The paperwork necessary to activate the 20 year warranty on the heated floor was never provided despite numerous requests.  About a year ago, we began to notice holes developing in the shower floor grout.  We are having it re-grouted right now, and the man doing the work has had fifty 2"x2" tiles come up due to water penetrating and spreading under the tiles.  This process damaged the glue which became soft and pliable, no longer holding the tiles.  This re-do will cost us between $500.00 and $1000.00.  Not acceptable to our way of thinking.  Additionally, we had to get him to come back to clean up the mess he had left.  (That is when he sad that he would seal the grout on the bathroom floor.)  We do not recommend doing business with RJL Designs in Colorado Springs.

It went well. There was nothing I disliked. He was a good designer. He had a nice touch and he was very in tune with schedule and pricing.

We contacted via voice mail RJL Designs for an initial consult to remodel master bath and install a different bathtub in the second bathroom. Reilly called back immediately and said he would contact us in a few days to set up an appointment. After waiting a week for him to call back, I called again and he said he was just in the process of setting up a schedule for the following week. We set up a time for him to come over to do the consult. He did not show up. I called and left voice mail. He called the next day to apologize and stated that he had a new phone/calendar system and accidentally entered the wrong date. Reasonable, give the benefit of a doubt. He came over the next day and seemed quite knowledgeable about redoing the bathroom; also made several appropriate suggestions. He stated that he would call or email within a week or two with a cost estimate based on different options. A month has gone by with no call or email from him at all. You be the judge if this is the kind of service you want.

The job was to be completed by the end of April 2011 before my husband was to be redepIoyed back to Colorado Springs,  I  was quoted about$18,420.60 for the job, excluding plumbing and electrical installation which added about $3700 to the job.  Scott, the foreman/carpenter did an excellent job and I didn't have any problems with him.  I did like the crew on Front Range Electric and Hermann's Plumbing.  We did have a problem with the plumbing issue since a certain piece was missing and I wanted the plumber to continue the work, so my brother did get all the necessary information to get this part from some plumbing supply store.  If the plumber did leave, I would have been charged for this extra trip.  The demolition and removal were uneventful at this time.  After the cabinets were installed and shower, Rylie , the owner and designer did the painting and the tiles.  I have to add that RJL Designs were doing a larger job on the north side of town, so it did seem like my project was more secondary at this time.  The tiles did not come out as I wanted since Rylie did insist he did an excellent job.  We had issues with the shower bench because there was a leak which penetrated the ceiling downstairs.  The grout along the perimeter of the shower floor and the grout Rylie applied on the ceiling had hairline or larger cracks.  Some tiles on the walls were not properly grouted as well.  Outside the shower, we had some tiles that needed to be regrouted as well.  Some issues RJL Designs LLC did address when he returned in February 2012when we had the leak in the ceiling downstairs.  He did not remove any tiles, but just regrouted.  Rylie did state that we should not have any mold issues within the timeframe of 8 months.  He did offer to tal k to my husband and me about any issues.  No, I would not want him to come back into my home and regrout and put this clear silicone along the baseboards, sink,shower bench, walls and ceiling again.  I would be ashamed for someone to see his work on the tiles. I do think he should have delegate tile work to someone else.  All of my other offers were in our price range with the tile work done by someone else.  I am so glad I did not get any heated floors done by this company since my husband and I have to now hire another proficient tile person to redo this work.  I would be willing to upgrade this grade to "D" from "F" since he made an attempt to talk to us.
