Materials are top notch and warrantied. Every person involved impressed me. The crew is friendly, responsible, respectful, on time and thorough. We needed to replace our 29-year-old deck and contacted several contractors, provided them with our preliminary design for bidding and discussion. As noted in other reviews, Jim Velarde of Premier Custom Decks was very responsive – in fact he was the only contractor to offer an alternative design which was both true to our concepts but that also helped reduce costs. We elected to go with composite decking on a steel frame with steel railing. The construction team of James, Tito and Dan were great. James communicated daily with us about what was happening and the progress of the work and answered all our questions. By the end of the first day, they had built much of the steel framing for the first level of the deck. They are efficient and clearly know what they are doing. Construction was completed in two weeks (including a snow day) and it’s a great space. We recently had a July 4th party and everyone was very complimentary. We’re very happy with how it turned out and we highly recommend Jim and the crews of Premier Custom Decks and Outdoor Living to help you make your next deck project a success.

TOP NOTCH. Great to work with - embraced my ideas and suggested a couple new ones. Hard working, dependable crew that knew what they were doing. Worked from early in the day till dark in early January. Professional. Friendly. Very competitive price. We talked with 5 companies and once we talked with Jim we knew he had the job. I asked about steps. Instead of grabbing the opportunity to make extra money, he encouraged me to think about if I really wanted them because they would be expensive. I thought, I did, and I LOVE the steps. Would look no further.

Jim from Premier Custom Decks was great to work with, from start to finish he was very responsive to any questions and requests we had. We had a last minute change to the plans (after framing was complete) and his team was able to accommodate our requests. The team that built our deck was very impressive. It went very well from start to finish. Rod's team was very skilled and knew what they were doing. They battled some snowy weather, but were able to get the job done in a lot shorter time then I anticipated they would. We're very happy with the quality and appearance of our new deck and would highly recommend these guys.

Jim and his crew did an outstanding job on our brand new deck! All of the great reviews we read online (before hiring this company) held true. They were professional, communicated with us throughout the entire project, handled all of the permit/inspection details, etc. The crew was a top-notch group. I had an older deck that needed replacing and was in the market for almost a year before I found Premier Custom Decks and Outdoor Living. Jim and his team are the best! He delivered ahead of schedule and worked with me to do what would work with my back deck and yard. The price was the lowest among the other companies I got quotes from and he was extremely professional throughout the entire process. The deck he installed looks like it came with the house and everything is geometrically appealing to the eyes. If you are looking for a new deck and want the best quality and low cost go with Jim and his superb team!

Our experience with Premier Custom Decks & Outdoor Living was excellent. They completed a total decking replacement for us. This included tearing out a 17 year old redwood deck (12’ x 36’) plus 16 tread steps all in very poor, shaky condition as the previous owners never cared for the decking. Premier Custom Decks & Outdoor Living replaced the existing deck with Premium Fiberon Horizons Ipe Colored Composite decking, Fortress fe26 railing, and Premium Kiln Dried Treated Top Sealed Framing including a new bead-board. All work was PPRBD permit approved, completed to code and HOA requirements, and passed PPRBD inspections. Our particular job required very careful removal of existing decking especially that which ran through 9 stucco support pillars 18 feet in height. I bring this up only to explain that we took, or tried to take, estimates from seven deck builders over two years time. Once they came to the site and viewed the deck many of those builders offered no estimate or stated the job was too difficult to accomplish short of a 100% tear down and rebuild (thereby removing the archtectural pillars, etc.) at a cost of big $$$. Premier Custom Decks & Outdoor Living took on the job, at what was actually a price in the mid-point between the other two estimates. Once accepted, Jim Velarde worked with us to carefully plan our job. He was very knowledgeable and made many helpful recommendations. He was committed to completing the high quality job from the beginning. His construction team was excellent, friendly and very easy to work with and more that willing to answer any questions we had. They were diligent and put a lot of workman’s pride into completing the job. It was clear they were very experienced and had “seen it all” and knew how to efficiently complete the job while cutting no corners on quality. They were careful in all of their tear outs and carried all removed materials by hand to the dumpster protecting our fragile sprinkler system in the process. They were self-contained and self-sufficient not needing to enter our house at any time during the rebuild. They kept the work area neat and cleaned up the entire area daily. We are very pleased with the finished product and can’t wait for spring to arrive so we can finally walk out onto a deck we can enjoy and feel safe using. Jim Velarde and crew delivered exactly what was promised and actually came in a few dollars under contracted price. It was a pleasure to work with Premier Custom Decks & Outdoor Living all the way through the process and I would highly recommend them for any similar work you may have.

PERFECTION! Professional, friendly, caring, dependable, hard working, happy, thorough, paid attention to the smallest of details, listened to what I wanted and gave a few helpful suggestions, knew what they were doing, etc. I can't praise them enough. We had 4 bids and Premiere won hands down! Their established crew worked for 10 days from about 8:30 till dark. We could have had them do the work while we were on vacation without any worry on our part. Without any hesitation, give Jim a call.

Mission-Complete and absolutely outstanding work by Premier Custom Decks (Rod and his team led by James, Tito, and Daniel)! Absolutely amazing job with my steel-framed covered deck project and we are so grateful more than you will ever know! We are so delighted to finally have a covered steel-framed deck that we can enjoy year-round and for many years to come especially in this covid-19 virus environment…this deck is exceptionally sturdy! Not having to BBQ in the rain or snow is also an added plus to this long-awaited saga. Rod and James met my requirements (I am very anal with my projects) to include a new roofline that would blend-in with the existing roof slope and pitch. Premiere Custom Decks did an excellent job!! Work started when they said it would and ended in the timeframe estimated with no additional costs. Attention to detail was impeccable and it was a pleasure to interact with each of the workers! They went above and beyond by doing repairs caused by installation of the original deck / balcony years ago. I'm very pleased with the outcome including the cleanup after the project was completed!!

We cannot be more pleased with Premier Custom Decks and the extraordinary craftsmanship that went into this renovation project. From Rod Saunders’ creative design and generous guidance through some decisions we needed to make, to the truly custom building of expert (skilled and experienced) builders, we have a beautiful deck that should last for years. It wasn’t an easy project, either. The old, existing 2nd-floor deck was built over bedrooms. Much of this deck had to be demolished without damaging the structure below before the new work could proceed. They were meticulously careful. The project included not only the decking, but a new bridge to the deck from another part of the house, and a new stairwell. All are sturdy and well-engineered. We give Premier the highest rating and recommend them for your deck projects, especially projects that require a demo and rebuild.

Phenomenal! Jim and Sergey did an amazing job removing and replacing the old deteriorated deck with a solid, composite deck that looks amazing. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and ability to listen to our needs gave us a structure that is well-built, attractive and durable. We are so happy with the outcome. I simply can't say enough good things about Jim and his team at Premier Custom Decks. From Jim's first visit for a consultation through the final inspection the process could not have gone better. Jim spent time to understand what we wanted and designed the deck and the proposal to fit that. He was clear about start dates and communicated well on the lead up to the start of the project. Hector and the guys that came out to do the job were just awesome. They worked so hard and so quickly. It was awesome to see the progress they made on a daily basis. Whenever we wanted to look at the work they took the time to explain what they were doing and why. The quality of the work is undeniable. We have had several contracting things done on our home over the years. This was the best experience yet. Rod was super helpful taking us from beginning to end. Great! We are absolutely, 100% satisfied with our new Premier-built deck. Four different companies responded to our requests for bids/proposals. Three talked a good game, but never bothered to even submit a bid. They simply disappeared. In contrast, Premier's Rod Sanders responded quickly with a professional, succinct proposal that detailed what would be done for a fixed price. He handled the permitting process, kept us apprised of crew schedules, was on-site for material deliveries, and periodically checked on progress, once construction was underway. Josh and his crew were more craftsmen than carpenters, meticulously completing each step of the project. Precision, experience and personal pride in their work were clearly evident each day. The crew repeatedly went above and beyond expectations, right down to paint and stucco touch-ups. In today's slapdash, grab-and-run norm of contracting, Premier stands head-and-shoulders above others. It's very gratifying to find a company that is competent, ultra-professional and thorough. Trust me, Premier is an increasingly rare entity.

There are a lot of deck companies out there, but we highly recommend Premier Custom Decks. We had a large project that required cutting into the existing roofline. From beginning to end we appreciated the professionalism of everyone on the project. A 6 week estimate was given and they stayed to that schedule, despite some heavy rain days. Amid construction, the workers were on time, pleasant to talk to, able to answer questions or concerns and the site was cleaned up everyday. We are thrilled with the outcome. The new roof looks like it was always there. We will hire them again next year to redo the front porch. Thanks to the whole crew for making it a positive experience.

From beginning to end, excellent. Jim responded to our request and came over the next day to evaluate our situation. He made recommendations based on our requests and submitted an estimate the next day. We accepted, selected the colors for the deck and scheduled work for early June. Jim took care of all the permits and set up the final inspection. He provided a clear explanation of work with milestones and payment schedule predicated on milestones. The work crew came on the scheduled start date and finished in 6 days. Would have been shorter but weather was an issue. The work crew was outstanding! Very professional, polite and conscientious. Could not have asked for a better crew. All and all it was a smooth process and we are very happy. Love our new deck. I would highly recommend their services!

Everyone associated with Premier Custom Decks were great to work with. Very professional and always on time to get the job completed. They did a terrific job installing top quality materials for underneath the composite decking as well as using top rated composite materials. We are sure the quality of their work will last a long time.

Jim and his crew responded immediately to our call for an estimate, and put together a beautiful plan for rebuilding and expanding a small deck. He came in lower than other bids, without sacrificing quality. Their workmanship and time completing the job were outstanding. We've had nothing but compliments on the new, expanded deck.
