Precision Tree

I don’t normally write reviews, but I feel as if I was utterly ripped off by this company and would like to warn others. In January I obtained 3 bids for removing a large, dying silver maple and several smaller trees. The bids were similar and ranged from $2000 to $2300. The bid from Precision Tree was $2150. Although it was not the lowest, I accepted it because David, the owner, was able to offer me the soonest removal date. The appointment had to be postponed several times due to inclement weather. David knew that I was desperate to have this done quickly because of landscaping work that is scheduled to start at the end of March. On March 15th, several of his workers arrived, promptly told me they were subcontractors and would not touch the work for less than $4000. I felt as if I had no choice but to accept because the landscaping work was only two weeks away and to get another tree service to perform the work would likely be a wait of 6 to 8 weeks. David refused to stand behind his estimate, or even negotiate a lower rate. I had to call him with a different phone number to even get him to pick up the phone and speak with me. Only after I filed a complaint with the BBB did he lower it to $3500, still over a $1000 more than the original estimate. This is an absolutely despicable way to treat someone and I feel as if I have been the victim of a bait and switch scheme. I would urge you to avoid doing business with this company.

The crew of 4 showed up early on the re-scheduled date (weather delay) and work was completed in less than 2 hours. Did the debris clean up myself, they were appreciative. Great job.

Had a tree that didn't look quite as healthy as it should. Called for an estimate, they recommended a deep root treatment. Took forever to schedule, they couldn't give me an estimate as to what time of day they'd show up, asked for a call 10 minutes prior so I could make sure my 4mth old puppies were in the house instead of the yard -- that seemed to be an impossible task for them! Finally got the to say they would try -- they never did. After the treatment, my tree was dead within two months - another arborist told me it appeared to have been burned by the chemicals they used. I told Precision Tree about the result and they took no responsibility. Not only wasted my money but lost a beautiful 3 story high tree. Will never recommend them to anyone.

I've done regular business with Precision Tree over the past several years. They have always been attentive to detail and responsive to my requests. Execution of the work and clean-up afterwards have been excellent, my trees look great! I highly recommend David Pratt and his crews for their dependable good work.

On time, quickly and professionally done.

Not very good. I was given an estimate on 7/18/17 to have this work done. Included in the estimate was a satisfaction guarantee. Also that I would be called with their arrival time so that I could be on site when the work was to be done. Had to take a whole day off of work, cause they couldn't give me an arrival time. When I went to the house to see what was going on, I noticed that they had been there and gone. I also noticed that no broken branches had been removed, which was the main reason for calling them. Since then I received numerous promises from the owner and the person who answers the phone, that they would return to remove the broken branches. They did return, but only one of the two broken branches was removed (one was right above the other). It is now 10/14/17 and I'm still waiting for them to follow through on there promise. To my fault, I paid them before I was totally satisfied. Had I received the promised phone call, this all could've been avoided.

Went according to plan. He sent Colin and his crew, they were done in no time with excellent clean up and attitude. Would highly recommend Precision.

David came to our house the same day that I called and provided an estimate. Within a couple weeks, his crew came to our house and performed the work. They were flexible, allowing us to add and remove trees to be removed or pruned (and adjusting the price accordingly), mulched on site and left us a bunch of mulch for landscaping (as requested), and also followed detailed instructions to leave us some stumps and slices for other landscaping projects. The work team was fast, friendly and professional, and everyone I talked to was responsive and communicative. The price seemed quite fair for a very large job, and the team cleaned up our yard and removed a couple extra random broken branches from other trees.

See above. I will use them again and will highly recommend them to anyone needing tree service.

On August 11, 2016 a two man crew showed up to cut down the 3 trees. In 2 hours they had all tree tree's ;cut down, loaded onto a trailer and cleaned up the yard. This is the 3rd. time I have had this company take down tree's. They show up, get right to work and all are very nice young men.

I was given a good price to take the tree down and the next day a crew showed up to take down the tree. They had that tree down in no time, put it threw a shredder and cleaned up the yard.

i feel as though this provider does not care about my service needs. I feel that they should have at least called. After all, David called his workers to pull off the job, why did he not call us to let us know what was going on? I feel we have been ignored and disrespected in this matter.


this is an update from before. we finally haerd from the provider, this is after the workers show up the next day on saturday. they did the work and were very professional. we did not have a problem with the workers. it was the lack of response and lack of professionalism we are still bothered by. we did pay the amount agreed on less $50.00 for the hassle. it would have been so easy to make a call and avoid this problem

scheduled appt after giving estimate and then called to let me know it had to be rescheduled because of auto issues.

When they came out to trim out a big tree, I wanted more trimmed, so we called the boss and he agreed to let the worker to more, but didn't charge me anymore. They took the other two trees out and didn’t leave any debris behind.
