I had a lot done, so it was $3,000. They have always been very professional and their work that they have done has stuck. They found out what was wrong with it and they fixed it, where as I’ve gone to a couple of other places that claimed to fixed things and they don’t, you take it back and they try to charge you more. So, Phil Long has not done that, so that is actually why I’ve been going to them. I have a Ford truck, so I figured a Ford dealer should be able to fix it better although they are more expensive. That’s probably the down side, that they’re more expensive, that’s why I gave them a “B”. I’ve been satisfied with their service, but I think they’re overpriced. If something sticks then I rather go and pay a little extra then having to keep going back to get something that was supposedly fixed repaired again. There’s been a couple times when the truck wasn’t ready when it was supposed to be.

They just lied to me.  They came back and told me that my brakes were like red alarm, do them now or die kind of deal. They said it needed ball joints and tie rod ends. Superior did this for me and they did a perfect job. It was really tight. I went a brought new ceramic brakes for the vehicle. I had took them off, and it look like that they had left 10,000 miles on the brakes. They just flat out lied to me about everything. They can do an oil change fine, but I would never trust them to do anything else. As a matter of fact, I'm really really thinking about not using the last two coupons for oil changes. I really don't want them messing with my vehicle. It was actually scary that someone would bold face lie to me about my vehicle. I would advise any person to check to make sure they only take their vehicle there for really simple stuff, like an oil change. They did that for my wife focus we brought new there in 2002. They take really reasonably good care of that. When I took my blazer there they really wanted to stick it to me. It was all lies. They said I had brakes that were just about gone. They either didn't inspect them at all. I don't think that they really looked at all. How could you miss brand new blue painted ball joints. They were obviously brand new. All anyone has to do is just take a light and look under the vehicle. You would see that the bolts had been removed and everything. I brought a package. All I had done was an oil change. I took it home and brought synthetic grease, and greased the ball joints myself. I'm horrified. I called them and talked to them about it. I let them know the name of the mechanic. They were like "oh, that doesn't sound like him, he was here a really long time." They were not even going to listen to me. The price was really good. I'm convinced that they just wrote stuff down and really didn't even look. They just made stuff up. I paid $160 for five oil and filter changes, inspections, and fluid checks. The last time I was there, I sat for over two hours waiting for an oil change, which is stupid. I can go to any other place for the same amount of money I paid to them, and sit there for just 20 minutes. I'm not going to use them ever again. I'm not going to buy a car from them, I'm not going to have any service done from them. It was just a bad experience and I don't want them touching any of my vehicles.

It was a good experience. I had no idea I was going to buy a car, but I ended up buying a car.

I had to wait for the salesman, several times.

The dealer and representative were kind and sympathetic when I took my brand new vehicle in for advice and repair following rear bumper damage as a result of a truck rolling into me while I was stopped at a red light. They arranged for the proper help and followed through to make sure I was happy. The dealer also spent time to help me understand and program the voice controlled information center and the phone sync, as well as the other programmable and recorable devices. Think I bought a space ship!
This dealer is also the same one I have used and will continue to use for all my service requirements. They are prompt, professional, dedicated, and provide excellent service.

I have used the service department at phil long ford chapel hills for at least 12 years for many cars and have always been happy with their work. I have had everything from oil and fluid changes to brakes, transmission work up to new engine installed. They have always been very courteous and helpful and have found many things that other car repair services did not, when trying to find out what was wrong with my car.

Overall experience at this auto service location was satsifactory. A complete vehicle inspection and oil change took approximately an hour and a half. The technician provided recommendations on additional repairs to prevent future problems. Quality of the waiting area was average, but acceptable with a television.

The repair took all day, you only have a window "appointments", the time to drop off the vehicle.  It is not when they actually start the work.
They completed the repair as agreed at the price agreed.  But now since I have a "relationship" with the company they are allowed to ignore the no solicitation list.  I've told their 3rd party telemarketing company from Wisconsin to take me off the calling list---with no success.  Calling the dealership had equally poor results.  If you value a company that respects their customers and listens...skip Phil Long.

All work was performed on time and on estimate. I had coupons to reduce some of the costs (20% 0ff the windshield replacement).
Their coupon books are a good deal, but then they do try to sell you service when you bring the vehicle in for an oil change/inspection.

It took them a couple of days to diagnose why the engine light was on. They found the problem though.

I had a 2000 Mercury Sable with a grating noise when the steering wheel was turned. They found that the rubber boot on the the steering housing had to be cleaned and lubed. They also found bad a ball joint on the right side and recommended replacement of the front struts. The upper ball joints we found to need replacing. Finally, the steering rack is somewhat loose at the ends. All repair estimates totaled about $1800. I chose to have the clean and lube of the steering boot done. This was $90. The rest of the work is deferred. They insisted that the struts should have been replaced at 50,000 miles, bit I don't recall them mentioning that when the car was worked on back then at this dealer. The car drives fine without the replacement of the struts or other work. They also told me that the battery needs replacing, which was a surprise. Since then I have been sent a 10% off coupon by them. I plan to take it back and have the battery replaced.
