Walked into PC Brokers hauling my Dell Studio XPS operating system.  Doug, the technician, immediately put it on the testing bench, and within 20 minutes, determined that the video card was failing.  He installed a new upgraded card, with the result that the computer graphics are better than before!  He courteously and informatively answered our questions, and gave us advice on future maintenance we can do ourselves.  Overall, a remarkable experience.  Withing an hour, we walked out hauling a now working PC with better graphics!

Technician gave me a 2 week window to complete the service.. I didn't hear from them at all and when I called on the date the system was supposed to be fixed and technician said he was working on it then. I called the next day and he said they just finished the diagnostics and recommended I replace a high end graphics card and that would fix the constant crashes and freezes. I accepted his recommendation on both the cause and the solution and he replaced the graphics card -- it ultimately took almost 3 weeks to fix it and it was obvious that the technician didn't even start working on it until I called after 2 weeks.
Now the result -- when I started the system at home -- it froze after about an hour and froze several times in the next couple of hours. The next day I got experienced my first full crash (blue screen).. Over the next two days the freezing and crashes increased in frequency until the system was crashing as many as 3 times a day and if not crashing it was freezing. I called the shop and they said to bring it in but advixed that it would be at least 2 weeks again before they could address the issues. I At this point I lost both patience and trust in PC Brokers and took it to another shop to have it successfully repaired in 2 1/2 days.
I have used PC Brokers successfully in the past but I was completely disatisfied with this engagement and have lost trust in them and will not take my system in to them for repair in the future - nor will I buy a system from them.
Honest Customer service is extremely important !!

I have used PC Brokers for my computer repairs and computer builds for years.  They have always done a great job and beyond what is expected.  The warranties they offer on the computer systems they build are awesome.  I will never buy a desk top computer off the shelf again.  I will go back to PC Brokers and have them build all my future pc's.

My husband was about to deploy and my parents gave me a laptop so I could Skype with him while he was gone. The screen needed to be replaced so I took it into PC Brokers and asked for an estimate. They said they could do it for about $250 and it would only take a few days. The employees were very knowledgeable and helpful. The repair was quicker then I thought it would take and they called me as soon as it was done. Very happy with the service. Laptop worked great afterwards.

I was having trouble with my Apple iPad, and, even though they don't work on Apple products too much, they were so good to help me figure out what the problem was and get it fixed. I have also used them to work on my laptop PC and they always get it fixed too. They don't seem to mind that some of my issues are pretty simple and I should have been able to figure it out myself!!

I initially brought my wife's laptop in to see why it wouldn't boot up. Barry siad that the diagnosics was free of charge. When we got the call that the motherboard was shot and there was nothing they could do to get it working. He gave us the option of picking up the dead computer, or if we bought a new one we could bring it in and they wouild transfer the data from the hard drive of the old computer to the new one. We took them up on the offer and brought a new laptop. When i came home from work and I asked my wife how much it was to transfer the data, she told me it was free of charge as it's a complementary service! Barry and the folks at PC Brokers were upfront in all aspects and offer great services from diagnostics to repair to data transfer. I will definitely be using these guys for all my computer needs!

The first time I came in, we found a lot of water damage on the inside of the PC. I'd already replaced a faulty power supply, and the next issue became the motherboard. I bought a motherboard online and decided to install it myself. As soon as I pieced everything together, it still wasn't working.
Bringing it in the second time, we found that both the memory and the GPU would need to be replaced. Chris was more than kind to install 8GB of new, AMAZING RAM, and he installed it for free after the initial cost of the RAM. I bought a new GTX 560 Ti since that's what I was using previously and installed that on my own at home. However, I still had a ton of issues with starting the PC up.
Third time at bringing it in, I needed to replace my CPU. It was heartbreaking, but I had an i5 2500k and I liked that processor, but Doug told me I might be happier spending an extra $20 on the 3rd Gen i5 3570k. I was more than happy to say yes for this type of upgrade. So everything had practically been replaced and the only thing I was charged was for the hardware costs, they never charged me for the labor of installing the parts.
Unfortunately, again, after everything is up to date and running at home and after a few hours of playing Skyrim, I got some major graphical issues, like pink screens and vertical, multi-colored lines. I took it in again to PC Brokers and Doug was more than happy to look at it again. He checked every bit of hardware and told me the NEW GPU I got from another store was faulty; the GPU's RAM was dead. So I simply exchanged the new GPU for another one the same day and everything is working.
Doug and Chris did one AMAZING job at putting up with me and though I had to bring it in multiple times, neither of us wanted to replace more than what we absolutely had to. There was absolutely no upselling, and I felt like they cared, genuinely, about my issues. These guys are absolutely awesome and the most professional that I've ever been to. I'd recommend them a thousand times over, no questions asked.

Laptop running slow and hot. Took it in for diagnosis. They turned it on and checked it while I watched. He showed me how many programs run and quot;in the backgroundand quot; that I never even use or use only rarely. He explained how they use the memory to do a quick start but that I don't need that capability for lots of programs. He explained that if cleared out the programs from the background, the laptop would run faster and I could still start the programs manually if I needed to. He selectively cleared out the offending programs, asking me which I used and which I didn't need.

He also recommended that since my laptop is older that I might not want to be using the free (and TOO powerful) Norton anti-virus program that comes with Comcast. He explained that it's a good anti-virus program but it uses a lot of memory. Because I use my laptop mostly offline, I really didn't need that much capability. He recommended the free Microsoft anti-virus program and helped me uninstall Norton.

He blew out the insides of the laptop and told me lots of lint and fuzz came out, which was why the laptop was running hot.

I asked if my laptop needed more memory. He quoted a proce but said take it home and run it first with his changes, and see if I still thought I needed to spend money. I took it home and it runs fine with his tweaking it, so this repair was free.

They are pretty good. I went to them because I couldn’t replace the keyboard myself. They just moved to a new location. I didn’t have a problem with them. I have dealt with them before and I understood the problem. So I told them exactly what I needed and it was pretty obvious since I had a keyboard that wasn’t working. So it was just a matter of replacing it. I think they had the wrong keyboard the first time, but they got the right one within the same day and put it in. So I wasn’t without my computer for more than a few hours. They were fine. The price was probably correct and fair. So I really can’t complain. There was one small problem with the keyboard which never got fixed and I am kind of disappointed with that because there is a piece of it that just sticks out. Their responsiveness was fine. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

One of the technicians immediately turned on the machine and started questioning me about what was wrong. He explained that replacing the mouse buttons would be very expensive and suggested that since the mouse control worked fine with an external mouse that I just operate it that way. After checking a couple of other things, he suggested that I install additional memory to help speed it up. He also said that they could run a free diagnostics check on it at a later time. I scheduled the diagnostics check and when they ran it, they found no problems. I had also complained that I thought McAfee Virus check software was slowing the machine down. He recommended using a free virus check program and another free programs to clean up the registry and other unnecessary files on the machine. I had the memory installed and took the advice on the free programs. My computer is running much, much better now.

Excellent service. Could not have been happier. It is fortunate that we could use a local resource rather than have to ship the machine elsewhere.
