UPDATE May 2013-Company agreed to compromise with me on the cost for this treatment. I appreciated that they were willing to do that.
I found a coupon in our local newspaper for Skin Savvy-which is part of Mateo's. I was going to go in to my regular practioner for filler treatment anyway and after looking at BBB reviews and others, I decided to try them out. This was November 2012.
I went in and after talking to the technician, decided to try a facial procedure called skin tightening. It cost $1000+ with the coupon I had and involved 3 treatments spread out over 3 months. They said that it would help rebuild the callogen in the skin that is lost, with aging and once you have 3 treatments you would notice a wonderful difference-a tightening of the skin. After that I'd only have to repeat the treatment 1x per year, for continued results.
When I went in the other day for my 3rd treatment I shared that I was concerned as I did not see any difference so far and asked what happens if there is no change, after someone does the 3 treatments. She acted surprised and told me that well and quot;you've already received the treatment so you wont get your money backand quot;. I was informed that they've done 100's of these and have only had a couple of people that were not happy with the outcome. She could talk to the and quot;ownerand quot; about getting me a fourth treatment but that was all.
I did the treatment and there was a noticable change in her demeanor, from prior sessions. She said to let her know what I thought.
I would love to talk to others that had this done. My guess would be that most did not see results and just chose to let it go and never go back there again, rather then bring up their concern or disappointment. If it was $200 I might do the same but it is much more than that.
After a month or two goes by, I will schedule an appointment to go in and compare the before pictures with her, to now and see if I am mistaken. I just think that the attitude should have been one of wanting to make sure that I was completely happy with my purchase and experience. Instead I did not feel this way at all.

My friend and I had purchased online discount coupons for Mateo's for a facial. When I called to schedule us both at the same time I was told they only have one person who does facials so we would need to do them one after the other. It was hard to schedule that since she didn't work every day. We finally got two appointments, but they were cancelled because the lady doing the facials had a family emergency. Again it was difficult finding a time we could all get together. We finally agreed on a day and time, which took a couple of months from the time I first contacted them until we actually went there, and my friend had decided that she would have her nails done instead of the facial, so we would get done at the same time, but when we got there the staff was doing a wedding party that they didn't know they had scheduled so my wait was pretty long. My friend got her nails done before I started my facial. I did not think the waiting area was very comfortable and I was not offered anything to drink while I was waiting. I was mostly ignored. I did enjoy the facial and the person who did it, but I really cannot recommend Mateo's salon.

It took a bit of effort to schedule an appointment, but once I did everything went smoothly. The facility is nice, clean and relaxing. My only "complaint" is that the massage was just mediocre. I have a female masseuse, but I usually use males because they have bigger and stronger hands. The massage was not as deep as I would have liked and the technique was not as good as I have had in the past, but I am willing to give the spa another try.

I've gone several times in the past and was pleased with the results. The waiting room area here is a bit dark, but is relaxing. Would be nice to be offered water or something to drink because sometimes you do wait up to 10 minutes. Every time in the past I've always gone to the same specialist and on this occasion I went to a different one. I think the other specialists name was Brenda and I prefer her services to the one I attended on June 1st, 2012. I just wasn't as pleased with the results. This visit seemed to be quite a bit more painful than previous visits, and she was definitely in a hurry. I did call ahead of time and let them know I would be several minutes late, due to the fact that I am new to town and have never driven in a large city. They said this was fine, and they would still get me in. Given this fact, I still waited 5 minutes before the specialist came and got me and took me back to the treatment area. The price for the service/time spent is a bit obnoxious and is of no greater service, professionalism, or quality than similar services in other salons. I do like Brenda, so I will probably continue to use the salon, but I'm not adverse to change either.

The salon provides a website with all the information you need. My husband recommended Dana to do my hair, knowing how picky I am with my hair and the details. When I first came in, I told the clerk at front desk about my appointment and was told to sit at the seating area, which was comfy and relaxing. They had plenty of magazines to flip through. Within 2 minutes, Dana came to meet me. She was welcoming and sweet. She took her time in listening what I want and asked questions for a better understanding so there won't be any confusion, which I like. How she took her time in coloring and cutting my hair shows how careful she is so there was no signs of any clumsiness or a missing spot. She was very professional. Looking around, the salon looks clean and organized. The staff was friendly and respectful for each other which is a sign of a great team at Mateos.

I received a massage from a gentleman to start with. I explained to him the areas in which I had soreness and the amount of pressure I like used. He was very rapid with his movements and it felt like he struggled to achieve the amount of pressure I had requested. I left the massage feeling more wound up than relaxed. I next received a facial. I explained to the asthetician that I have very sensative skin. She told me she would use mild products. One of the products she used burned so badly that she had to wash it off. While washing it off there was so much bubbles that I couldn't breath through my nose. After the facial I received a spa pedicure, which I thorougly enjoyed. The lady was very gently and did an excellent job on my toes. I would go back for a peduicure, however I would not use any other services.

The employee I use is very knowledgeable about hair. I have been using this particular person for three years now. I can ask her all questions like if I cut my hair, how it will lay and how it is going to be and she knows the answer. I like to use this lady but those at the reception, those who answer the phone are not very friendly; I overlook that. Including a tip, I paid $140. I would continue to use them in the future.
