On November 19, 2012, my wife and I went to Designer Kitchens because they said they had a Bosch range like we wanted to buy. We needed to see one in person. When we were satisfied that the range would work, we ordered the range, a refrigerator and dishwasher from Ed Medran, the owner. He completed the store order form, we signed it, and gave a large deposit for the order. The intention was to have the new appliances for Christmas, which he never said would be a problem. When the order arrived on December 28, the wrong range arrived. We contacted Mr. Medran and he said he would have to check with Bosch about the exchange.  After some time delay he stated that because we signed the order form and it was what was delivered, it was essentially our problem.  He said we should call Bosch to see what could be done. After speaking with Customer Service at Bosch, they said the retail store is responsible for the exchange.  We contacted Mr. Medran and explained the situation. He said he would get back to us. After another delay and several email exchanges in which Mr. Medran said any effort by us to complain to BBB or file a small claim in court would result in him ceasing to assist us in any way. He said he would testify that we signed the order form and it was as delivered and he would win.  After several more email exchanges Mr. Medran said he would try to sell the wrong range and then order the correct one. Much time went by and we pressured Mr. Medran to find another solution. He offered to exchange the range if we paid the restocking fee. We negotiated a compromise to share that cost and he ordered the correct range.  On March 8 the correct range was delivered.  By this time we had missed the time frame for rebates from Bosch and the local utilities for the new appliances and had paid more than we should have for the same appliances anywhere else.
Mr. Medran never accepted any responsibility for this fiasco nor apologized for the incredible delay and poor customer in this matter.
We have copies of all emails to and from Mr. Medran to substantiate the statements made here.

I was having a brand new upscale, handicap accessible, duplex built for myself and a friend.  I bought all my appliances (mostly Bosch - a very good brand) and all my kitchen and bathroom cabinets from them.  In particular, I bought two combination microwave-convection ovens, one for each side.  After I moved in (in early 2012), I discovered that one of these had been manufactured in 2006 and had a broken part; the other had been manufactured in 2009.  Although they were new, I felt cheated and asked for a refund.  The manager of this company seemed to think it was not his problem; it was the problem of his distributor.  It took about 6 months to finally receive a refund, and then it was only because I had threatened him with a lawsuit (and I'm not someone who does this sort of thing lightly).  I would never deal with him again.  There are more than one company under his management, so watch out.
There were major design problems with the cabinets.  As a result, the doors have had to be removed from one set so that they can be accessed, and the doors of the ones above the refrigerator can only be accessed with a ladder.

After everything was installed, it took weeks before the damaged items were replaced.

We worked with Ed and he designed a layout for our kitchen. We took everything out of the kitchen except the tile floor. We then adjusted his design with one we had from another company.

We then selected cabinets - he had great options for every price range, but we selected a higher quality cabinet ----- with dovetailed drawers, silent auto closing drawers, full box design. We selected the Rustic Alder which is a much nicer wood than even the cherry or the knotty alder but at a lower price point. It is harvested from the same Black Forest that the cherry is. Ed worked with us to get just what we wanted but also to stay within budget.

We were even able to design our door/drawer fronts in a brand new style - and it was a wonderful experience. Because it was a new design, we did have a few hiccups - the cabinet company messed up the first time - but Ed handled it wonderfully and took care of everything. We did end up waiting a little longer for the "right" door/drawer fronts, but it didn't cost us any more - just time.

We did buy our handles from KDS also.

Everything was a good experience - we liked working with Ed throughout the process and we liked the installer he hired also.

We bought appliances and countertops from other companies - not directly with KDS but hey all worked well together.

We would definitely recommend his services to anyone without hesitation.

The job that they did was good. I would highly recommend them. The owner was easy to work with. He had a really good team and they were very competent. We didn’t mind having them around. They came when they said they were going to come. I was very pleased with them. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future.

We had a bid from another kitchen place also. We liked the other plan but Ed's prices much better, so we went with the plan from another place but had Ed tweak it to make it ours and design our materials. The quote for granite and soapstone was beat by The Great Indoors. We also received a quote on appliances, but went with a cheaper vendor on those also. We ended up having KDS order in our cabinets and install them. Everything seemed as smooth as it could be and they worked with their vendor (cabinet maker) when it was discovered they had made the wrong doors. The quality is excellent and it is being fixed without a cost to us. it is a time delay however.

I did my own installation, and Roger worked with me on that as well. One of the cabinet doors was damaged upon delivery and they replaced that, no questions. My only complaint about the entire process would be with minor quality issues. We found little workmanship and/or material defect issues here and there. Like little dings in the door panels that were obviously stained or puttied over. Not very noticeable, unless you look up close. Also, the long 8ft sections of ceiling trim for the upper cabinets was *very* warped and nearly unusable. I never got this resolved with KDS.
