I had a complete overhaul of my kitchen with everything replaced. I contacted Kitchen & Bath Ideas and was assisted by Clarke Coons. He helped me to pick out all my cabinets with the wood and design that I wanted. He also worked with the countertop installers. I could always count on him to show up at the time we agreed upon which seems to be unusual with the other workers who did different jobs for me. Clarke came to the house several times to do measurements just to be sure everything would be just right. The cabinets arrived when he promised and afterward he came back to the house to inspect those and the granite counter tops. Be assured if you deal with Clarke you will be pleased. I found him very dependable and easy to work with.
the meeting and ordering process went smoothly.
"Thank you so much for sharing your experience with other Colorado Springs Home Owners. Although we didn't get to work with you on your project we are excited your experience working with our team was positive and we look forward to helping others plan their kitchen project."
"Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We always love to hear unbiased feedback from our customers."
It is a real balancing act between use of space, cost and quality. We were not in a hurry and one of our first experiences was some preliminary design ideas that were sketched out by a designer from KBI in 2011. That design sat on the shelf for a while. We had other design concepts from two other architects. Each iteration, we discovered things/constraints that we had not thought of. We continued to refine our preferences, likes and dis-likes.
During this two year period, we changed our mind several times regarding what wall to tearout or what wall to move, etc.
Also, most of our preliminary plans were done without considering cost. When we cranked that into the mix, we discovered that we couldn't afford what we first wanted and some of our plans didn't make financial sense commensurate to the value of the house.
In the summer of 2013 we had a cabinet maker from Denver, come to the house to give an estimate. His company built "gold plated custom cabinets" but really couldn't provide a total solution. At that point, I called KBI and they sent out one of their most experienced design professionals, Roger Perry. He patiently worked with us to plan our final design down to the smallest detail.
When Roger gave us detailed drawings that we could iterate, it was clear that 3 inches of space could ultimately determine what the appliance dimensions had to be, what we bought, and exactly where we could place it. Roger knew, up front, what pitfalls to avoid, and he could give us precise cost estimates because it was based on a detailed plan that we did not have to change halfway through the Project. Roger helped us pick Starmark Cabinets, built in Souix Falls, SD and they were accurately built, high quality, and delivered when they were supposed to be. Roger referred us to a general contractor that KBI had experience working with and they did a fabulous job because they knew what they were doing and they were able to price their part of the project without a cost over-run.
We contracted separately with Pinkerton Homes and refer you to a separate review in Angie's List. We were very very happy with KBI and specifically Roger Perry. He has our permission to give our contact information for referral if you would like more detail.
KBI has a fabulous showroom and experience with a plethora of suppliers so they can give you a lot of options and ideas. A pleasure to work with!
Kitchen looks great and is functioning well.
I have a happy wife on my hands!

"Hello (Member name removed), We are so happy that Jessica was able to help you get out of your "big box" floor plan. It's always nice to hear positive feedback from our clients. We look forward to walking you through each step of your remodel process."
"Thank you so much for your loyal support. We really enjoyed working on your project."
KBI will encourage you to talk to multiple vendor/contractors -- and you should, but KBI offered the best mix of quality and affordability.
"Dear customer, We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review and we appreciate your positive feedback. The greatest gift that we can receive from our customers is a referral to your friends and family that might be interested in the products we offer. Again, thank you!"
A kitchen remodel is a huge project which is something we could not quite appreciate before we did it. Roger told us what to expect, and there were no surprises. But, it does get old not having a kitchen for about 6 weeks. However, in the end it was absolutely worth the wait and we are very pleased with Kitchen & Bath Ideas.
2) Second appointment - we went to the Kitchen & Bath Ideas showroom and Jessica showed us her initial drawings of plans for our kitchen. We looked at cabinets and counter tops and picked out the ones we liked.
3) Third appointment - we went back to the Kitchen & Bath Ideas showroom and Jessica went over the plans with us and presented us with a proposal for remodeling our kitchen with the choices of cabinets, counter tops, etc., we had made.
We were very impressed with Jessica's ideas, but have decided to postpone remodeling our kitchen for the time being.
