Overall, this was not a pleasant experience. This contractor was referred by another contractor that I have worked with after the first contractor found the job beyond his tools(scaffolding was needed). This is a case where I should have followed my gut reaction. Even the initial bid wavered all over the place before getting something nailed down. However, this company was referred and he could start immediately, so I went with it. Work was a bit slow to get started, but at least there was some work being done. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before the first 'problem' popped up(which was clearly visible from the start)and the price started climbing. The work also proceeded much slower than initially bid. Finally, there was little to no clean-up, leaving the house extremely messy, including over spray from the texturing process, drywall tracks and of course the expected dust. Overall, the final product is OK, but not great. Several of the seams are very noticeable. To be fair, Earl did warn about one area once the work was about 1/2 done, but fixing it at that point would have been cost prohibitive as he was going to bill for re-doing the work. My opinion is that as a drywall professional, he should have seen the problem before starting the taping. Also, some of the corners on the tall walls are very 'wobbly'-not a nice straight edge, which is very noticeable. The area that he seemed to do best at was texturing-overall I was pretty happy with how the existing textures were matched.
