My house was affected by Waldo Canyon fire, and went through exterior renovation. The roof/stucco contractor turned out to be all talk but did not provide quality work that they sold us on. We were very unhappy and even thought about taking the contractor to the court, but were advised that we have to come up with the legal fee ourselves, and it does not worth the trouble. I had a recommendation from a friend that Ken Murphy will look at the project that has gone wrong, and provide the advice on how to go on. I called Ken and he came out to look at our stucco project right away on the next day, and he even came out twice because he wanted to avoid the stucco workers at the house. He gave us an advice that our stucco project does have problems, but it is not bad enough to go through a lawsuit. He pointed us as to how to negotiate with the contractors so that they will finish the job in satisfactory fashion. He told us that if we need to, he can write his professional recommendation with fee based contract with him. We took his advice and negotiated with the stucco contractors, and were able to finish the job. We are not totally satisfied with the stucco contractor, but we are able to live with the result. He made visits to the house, and talked to us on the phone about 30 minutes. and did not charge any fee. If our project had gone totally wrong and if we needed a stronger actions to make it right, we would have hired Ken Murphy with no doubt.
