The woman that came to tell me what the cost  and time it would be to move us grossly underestimated EVERYTHING.  Her estimated cost was $11K with 1and1/2 days to pack everything and load.  It took them over 4 and a half days to load, a total of three semi trucks (one was full, one they sent they put things in but it had no head or tail lights so IT WASN'T LEGAL TO DRIVE SO THEY TOOK IT BACK TO THEIR TERMINAL AND UNLOADED OUR STUFF ON A DOCK!!!  The next day they put some of our stuff in a different truck and sent it toward Washington.

Sometime overnight 29 of our boxes and parcels disappeared conveniently.  I don't know if they were stolen by employees of the moving company or others but I know I never got them back!  When I confronted the Company about it, I was told I had to list exactly what was in each box to file a claim on their insurance.  Well isn't that also convenient!?!  They write down a "list" of what's in each box as they pack it (and they charge you quite a bit to pack those boxes too!).  Here's how they listed things...

"Garage stuff"

"Kitchen Stuff"

"Bedroom Stuff"

(And worth noting, while they charge you for every box, sheet of paper, and tape, they carefully wrapped FULL trashcans instead of removing the trash liners to be disposed of, and they left fragile antique glass items and electronics unwrapped and buried at the bottom of heavy boxes full of books!)

Kind of makes it hard for ME to say EXACTLY what was in box #? now doesn't it!?!  So they refused to even try to settle anything with me.  One of them said to me, "Well, it's just too bad, these things happen."  So I told him I'd be sure to tell everyone exactly what my experience with their company had been.  Oh yes, and when we got to the Washington address, the second truck driver informed me they would not unload my stuff unless I showed him a Cashiers Check made out to them upfront.  Otherwise, they were keeping my belongings.    Oh yeah, this company is sleezy and crooked as the day is long.  If there were a Grade below F that's what I would give them.  NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

It went smooth. This was my second time using Mayflower and it went even smoother this time. Could be because I knew what to expect. My moving consultant was very flexible, responded to my questions the same day and throughout the weekend. My moving coordinator kept me up to date during the process.

Moving crew , which consisted of driver and packers, were great. Packers and loaders worked hard and efficiently. Driver was great, worked along with the crew, answered any questions, and took extra care with all my items.

Overall a great experience both times with Mayflower.

Was responsive and prompt with all aspects of the move from quote to delivery. Only one minor break of a glass panel on a framed item. All else in great shape as promised.

OUR MAIN OBJECTION WAS HOW THIS COMPANY DEALT WITH THE DAMAGE THAT WAS CAUSED WITH OUR MOVE.  WE VIEWED MANY DROPPED BOXES AND BROKEN ITEMS.  SILK TREES DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR.  A LARGE EXPENSIVE POT WAS DROPPED WHILE BEING REMOVED FROM THE VAN.  OUR CARPET WAS RIPPED.  WE PURCHASED THE EXTRA $1,000 ONE HUNDRED PERCENT COVERAGE WITH THE ASSURANCE THAT ANY DAMAGE WOULD BE FULLY COVERED.  THIS HAS NOT BEEN THE CASE.  THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT HAS NOT RESPONDED TO OUR LETTERS OF DAMAGE AND IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL WEEKS SINCE OUR LAST INQUIRY.   WE WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN AS THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR CONTRACT.  (THEIR ADJUSTOR CAME OUT AND REVIEWED OUR DAMAGE AND WAS OF THE OPINION THE DAMAGE SHOULD BE COVERED IN FULL. )  Update :  THIS COMPANY STILL REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE RIPPED CARPET EVEN THOUGH IT WAS REPORTED ON A TIMELY BASIS AND WITNESSED AT THE TIME OF DAMAGE.  THOMAS AND PAUL WERE MOVING A LARGE CABINET IN A STUDY WHEN THEY DAMAGED THE CARPET.  ALSO BULBS FROM OUR TANNING BED WHICH WERE NEW AND IN WORKING ORDER (OVER HALF) DID NOT MAKE THE MOVE IN WORKING ORDER.  THEY HAD BEEN REMOVED FROM THE BED AND PACKED SAFELY.  THIS COMPANY MOVED US IN SEPT AND IT IS NOW FEB. AND WE ARE STILL NOT BEING PAID FOR THE DAMAGE.  IF YOU PLAN ON USING THIS COMPANY DO NOT BUY THE EXTRA INSURANCE AS IT IS NOT WORTH THE COST NOR WILL THEY HONOR THE CONTRACT.  THE PAPERWORK THEY REQUIRE WILL HAVE YOU HUNTING FOR MONTHS TO PROVE THE COST OF ITEMS.     BEWARE!!!!  UNITED NEEDS TO DROP THIS COMPANY!

I was treated well in Colorado Springs and unfortunately I was not there when the van was loaded but when it arrived everything was in good condition with no breakage or scratches.

They were extremely professional and courteous and efficient. Because of the torrential rains, they were SO careful to wrap everything while moving from locations to van.  We got bids from 3 different companies and they were all in the same ballpark. I would definitely recommend them to friends.

My daughter had recommended them. They packed up half the things for me. They haven't been able to get one of my big hutches up the staircase. Their price is average and is not a real good deal.

Both these moves went amazingly well and we credit the professionalism and people of Johnson Moving & Storage for the success of our moves. Our goods were packed well. The packing crew took 2 days to pack on both occasions, as we own plenty of fragile goods. The crew took their time, did not stint on packing material, and cleaned up after themselves. We had one lead packer who was allergic to cats (he packed for both our moves) but he didn't let that stop him, even though our 3 cats kept him sneezing much of the time. It took 2 days both times to pack our goods, and every breakable, fragile item was carefully wrapped. No stinting on packing material on anything. The loaders were careful and respectful of our property as they fit everything in the van. The drivers took the time to meet with us, exchange cell phone numbers, and explain the paperwork, the process, and the details of our move beforehand. We met the drivers both times at the Colorado home, and oversaw the unloading process. The goods arrived both times in remarkably good shape. Not one mirror or glass object broke. One fiberboard shelf broke. We did have some relatively minor furniture damage to a very heavy sleeper sofa, wood table, small wood magazine rack, and large wood bookcase. Johnson Moving & Storage didn't give us any hassle about our damage claims; they had a local firm (Weathersby Guild) do the repair work, and it was such a good job I can't find the damage anymore even though I know where to look. They reimbursed us for the demolished fiberboard shelf. No hassle, no fuss. We're very pleased with this, our last (hopefully), moving adventure.
