John always does a great job. He pays meticulous attention to detail and it is obvious he wants to do quality work, no matter the job. I would hire John again in a heartbeat.

John did a fantastic job. First, he's very easy and pleasant to work with, which is a great help. He helped me choose the paint which I wound up being very pleased with. His work is outstanding. He was extremely professional and courteous at all times. He didn't skimp on prep work and I don't think I've ever seen a better painting job. He painted ceilings, walls and trim. He actually cleaned my baseboards before he painted them. The job included painting panel insets (6 of them) in a contrasting color and the trim around them. It also included painting the iron railings going up to the first landing and the iron railings going up the stairs to the second floor. John always cleaned up after himself beautifully. I had hired John originally by reading reviews on Angie's List. I was not disappointed. I have 3 more projects that he has given me estimates for, and I'm hoping he won't be so busy he won't have time for me!

John worked very **** ** what turned out to be a demanding job. His standards were very high and the outcome was quite beautiful.

We hired John in 2011 to paint our kitchen and two bathrooms, so when we decided to sell our house this year we hired him again to paint the rest of the interior. John is one of those people who goes above and beyond when he takes on a job. Not only did he take out every blemish in the walls before he painted, he helped us with some handyman repairs we weren't physically capable of doing ourselves. I don't think we could have made it through the process of sprucing up our house without him. When we find our retirement home in northern Colorado we will be asking John to come up there to paint our new home.

John is a fantastic guy to work with, very punctual, skilled and quick.  He repaired some very hard to repair cracks and matched a heavy wall texture, that I'd tried and failed to match previously.  I'd recommend him without reservation.

He was great.  He got to the property and got the job done with out any hassles or problems.  I wish I could find someone this easy to work with here in PA.  He had the job done before I was done with my drive to PA. He told me to just send a check when I get to PA and get settled in.

He was right on time for both the estimate and the interior painting work.  And his work was flawless!  On the raw-wood bar, he applied three coats of finish and filled in all the nail holes; the bar looks beautiful now.  On the windows he repaired the cracked caulk and repainted; his work was so good that I can't even see that the window edges were repaired.  The same goes for the small cracks in the wall that he repaired.  He was very polite and conscientious in our home.  I would definitely recommend John Mills.

Perfect.  He showed up on time every day.  Offered me a senior citizen discount after I had already given him a $100 bonus for such a good job.  Can't say enough good things about him!!

We are on the fast track to preparing our home for sale. Closing on the new house was very quick so we needed to get the current home ready for listing as quickly as possible. I contacted John and he was able to fit us into his schedule fairly quickly. We initially asked to have one bedroom painted but, after moving furniture out of another, realized it needed a coat, too. John was able to accommodate and actually arrived a day early in order to get everything done on time.
We had a few water stains on two ceilings from a humidity problem due to a couple blocked vents in our attic. Structurally the ceilings were fine. They just looked bad. John was able to seal and prime the stains, then top coat both ceilings. Nothing showing through and they look great. The two bedrooms done were both kid's rooms with the prerequisite dings, dents, double-stick tape, scratches, and marks. John prepped everything the first day, then had a great finish on both by the end of day two. I also left him with a bit of a challenge. I had wall-mounted wine racks in my basement. They required 36 screw-in (and, thankfully, screw-out) drywall anchors across a wall only 8 feet wide. John patched, sanded, spot textured, and repainted in a matching color. It looks just like the surrounding walls.
John wrapped the project up the morning of the third day. Everything just looks stellar and now I truly wish I had contracted him to repaint the master bedroom. The others just look so good! We'll see how viewings go. We may get him back in!
I believe you will find John to be conscientious, skilled, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. We are already getting in the queue for projects at the new house.

First, John responded right away to see our project and give an estimate.  He arrived on time.  He was very pleasant and knowledgeable, offered advice when asked.  We felt confident and scheduled him to complete the work.  We waited 2-3 weeks for start of project.  John called and asked paint colors and proceeded to take care of matching at the paint store.  He arrived on time on scheduled start day.  He worked Monday-Friday.  His painting was excellent.  We were very pleased with the results.  He was very accommodating even after we changed our minds about 2 accent areas.  He was clean.  I arrived home on Fri. afternoon to find that he had cleaned all the areas that I was expecting to have to dedicate a lot of time to wipe down dust, etc.  He had replaced the blinds and put everything back in order.   We would definitely use John again and again and will recommend him to friends/acquaintances as well.  In addition, John is just a really nice guy.  Someone you trust and would want as a friend.  We like that!!!  Thanks John for making our project easy...we love the result.

John, hands down, is the BEST painter in Colorado Springs.  He has great attention to detail, does very neat work, arrives on time, has competitive prices, and gets the job done in a timely fashion. He has a great personality and is a pleasure to have around.  We didn't have a color picked out.....we liked the original color but wanted the new color to be a shade or two lighter......and John found that perfect color for us.  We get a lot of compliments on the color and the quality of John's work.  We will hire John for all of our future painting needs!

I had 4 bids before I deceided on John. I took him because I was comfortable that he would do a good job and he was also the lowest bid. We had 3 of our bedrooms painted from the baseboards to the ceiling including the closets. John caulked the spaces in the trim and prepared the all the walls by filling the holes, taking down curtain rods, and hanging hooks on the ceiling. The end product was
outstanding quality that was done within budget and on time.
I would choose John again because he is a painter that owns his company instead of a company that hires painters. The difference is very noticable as I just had the rest of my house painted by one of those companies that was also "A" rated. John did twice the job for less money...it doesn't get any better than that!

I sent an email to John requesting a quote for repainting our existing fence.  He came by the house and looked at the fence and later that day he emailed a quote.  He power-washed the fence but had to wait several days because the wood was too damp to paint - we had all that rain in early September.  We emailed continuously monitoring the rain situation.  He stopped by yesterday (9/19/13) to check the wood and started and completed the job today (9/20/13).   The fence looks like new.  He did a great job.  We will call John when we need more painting done.  He takes pride in his work and it shows. 

John is very easy going and friendly. He is detail oriented and punctual. He was willing to work with our budget. He met all expectations and even surpassed a few. I disposed of old original paint and the color was very hard to match. John did it by sight after a few attempts but kept on till it was right. There was never any question he was doing the job correctly. He even fixed and touched up areas that he saw needed attention that were not in the bid. We will use him in the future and would recommend him. He kept a very tidy work area and asked to vacuum our rooms so they had a clean finished look. Prep through finish detail was great.

I was very frustrated trying to find a provider to stain a large fence.  I finally had to email Angie's and tell them I was getting no response or poor response from the companies that came up on Angie's List to stain fences.   ( Most pertained to deck building and staining.)    A representative at Angie's List told me to try under category "painting".  Thanks that I did.   I called 4 painters and 2 gave me a bid.
I called John Mills and he immediately agreed to go out and look at the fence and give me a bid.   His bid was far less than the other bid.
John was very responsive.  He gave me a very good bid in less than 3 days.   My tenant sent photos of the results of his cleaning and power washing.  The mold and black was gone!     He later came back to stain the fence.  The results were much better than I expected.  When I saw photos of the finished fence, I thought it looked new.

Not only did he do an outstanding job prepping, detailing and finishing the job, but he also did so in an extremely clean manner. I have never seen someone take such good care of their surroundings when it came to working on a home, and he did this on a daily basis. He was also consistently in communication with us, always on time when he said he was going to be there and VERY open to the questions we had. We also decided to paint in what would normally be the worst time of year. John took up the challenge, did research on weather to ensure the temperatures were right for painting found a window to do it in and took every effort to make sure it was done right.
I could not be more pleased with the work John did and would hire/recommend him again in a heartbeat. 

John appeared to be in a foul mood due to some kind of personal problems he was having.  He cursed while he worked and was rude to my wife.  He complained that he had underestimated the amount of work and that he underbid the job, although he did finish it for his original quote.  We hired him based on positive reviews on Angie's List, but we seem to have gotten a completely different John Mills.

Great! I highly recommend John!  He was on time for our initial meeting for a quote, he was very flexible, and knowledgeable. Even though I wasn't able to move my grill off my deck on my own, he moved it for me, and even put my patio set back together nicely on my patio while the deck was drying. That small gesture made a great difference. My husband is deployed and any help with even the smallest task is really greatly appreciated.  I would definitely hire John again for future projects!

John arrived on time all four days and worked steadily all day. He was pleasant to have around. His work area was always neat and completely cleaned up at the end of each day. When the job was finished, he left cans for each of the four colors labeled for the appropriate rooms. I have already contracted with John to paint the outside of the house, both body and trim, next spring. I will highly recommend John when someone wants a job done perfectly. He takes great pride in his work.

John was very communicative, easy to work with, and punctual.  Pressure washed fence on Monday, and arrived on Tuesday to stain.  Confirmed with me a couple of times on the color being applied, and took 3 hours to complete.  The actual price was less than the agreed upon estimate!!

John showed up promptly for work on 7/11/2012 and 7/12/2012.  He painted all the agreed upon rooms efficiently and with thoroughness.  He was so fast it was amazing.  I only wish I had known about him sooner.  Would I use him again???  In a New York minute!  Thank you John!

John did a wonderful job of painting the entire interior of our new house.  He responded right away to our initial call and gave us an estimate quite quickly.  Also, he was able to begin work right away which was so good for us as we hadn't moved in yet. At the same time we were having hardwood floors being installed and John worked well with the other workers and was flexible with their schedules.
John kept an extremely neat workspace, was punctual and kept us apprised of his schedule.  We had several walk throughs with him and he was willing to repaint anything we were not happy with but honestly, it was all great.  His quality of work is excellent and we would not hesitate to hire him again.
