The sales process was very good however post sale issues were not handled properly. Several years after the installation of floor tile in the bar area the tiles began to crack. I recognized this as an issue with the installation as I had tiled other areas of the home with no problems. I contacted Tom the owner and he came out to take a look. His assessment was that I must have done something to crack the tiles and was unwilling to do anything for me. First of all it was an insult that Tom would say it was something that I did to cause the cracking. The area was used for extensive entertaining but was certainly not abused in any way. Of the roughly 50 tiles there were 8 with significant cracks in the tile. Certainly not the result of carelessness on my part but certainly an installation issue. Interior/Exteriors also installed marble tile on the counter tops behind the bar. Another installation issue with this as they never sealed the tile and never instructed me to seal the tile. As a result the majority of the tiles around the sink area were water stained. Tom sent out his tile guy who attempted to take care of the water spots with no luck. Tom's response to this was not my problem. I would not recommend Interiors/Exteriors for any work that you may be considering as they will do a good job of selling you but if there are issues after the installation you will be left high and dry. It's a shame we have people that do not stand behind their work and allow the customer to have to replace at the customer's expense the mistakes made by them. Very sad and unfortunately very expensive.

The whole experience was excellent. Doris helped me pick out carpet to match the wall paper and also paint color for the walls. The owner Tom came right away and measured. Eleuterio the foreman and three others arrived on time the day that was designated. The job was done with efficiency, excellence, and respect. We were very very pleased with the job. We are going to replace carpet upstairs with wood and will have this company do the job. I love the personal and caring service of a family owned business.

I am breaking my comments into two categories, the first is the sales cycle with which I have concerns and am currently dissatisfied with the lack of responsiveness and follow through to satisfy completion of my window treatment job; and the second is the installation cycle with which I have no concerns and am satisfied with completely -- emphasizing that the measuring/installation of blinds was done by a separate contract employee.

Sales Cycle:  Tom and Doris George, owners of Interiors/Exteriors were out of the country at the time I actually placed my order with two of their delegated associates in their absence.  Prior to their trip departure I spoke with them briefly that I was looking for window treatments in addition to other work they were contracted to do in my townhome remodel and we agreed I would work with their associates (Sandy and Diane) in their absence.   I intended to order metal mini blinds for all seven (7) windows throughout my townhome but based on discussions with Sandy and Diane I ultimately ordered five (5) cellular blinds and two (2) -- which increased the sales order price by 40% -- I take ownership for that decision but in hindsight I should have stuck with my intention of mini blinds which would allow both visibility of outdoors plus privacy rather than complete blocking out of view and light -- I find fault with sales associates for focusing more or exclusively on 40% increased sales order price rather than hearing and listening and responding to my preferences which would have resulted in me placing a sales order at $1,100 instead of $1,800 BUT I would be a satisfied customer now who would brand Interiors/Exteriors with favorable review and recommendations to others which could result in future business and INSTEAD I am a dissatisfied customer with unfavorable review and poor recommendations to others if my concerns are not addressed and resolved.  Shortly after Tom and Doris George returned from their trip I sent an email to them explaining my dissatisfaction with the five (5) cellular blinds and my desire to replace them with five (5) metal mini blinds to match the other two (2) mini blinds in the townhome.  They did not respond to my email.   I followed up with two phone calls and have been told twice that Doris would or is seeking a discount through the Hunter-Douglas sales representative to provide replacement blinds at a discount since I already spent $1,800 for window treatments a month or so ago with which I am dissatisfied.  But another week has passed and I have not heard back with progress or status or proposed resolution.

Installation Cycle:  Mark, contract employee, was prompt and professional during measuring and installation of my window treatments.   He is obviously knowledgeable of the product line and takes his job seriously with strong customer focus.   I give Mark an A+ overall and high marks for responsiveness, punctuality, professionalism and job knowledge.

I AM WILLING TO ALTER OR UPDATE MY REVIEW AND RATING OF INTERIORS / EXTERIORS IF THEY RESOLVE MY DISSATISFACTION WITH PRODUCT IN PROMPT FASHION GOING FORWARD AND WITH EQUITABLE CONSIDERATION OF THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I SPENT ON BLINDS I DID NOT WANT BUT ALLOWED MYSELF TO BE TALKED INTO AS WELL AS OVERALL MONIES SPENT AS REPEAT CUSTOMER WITH I/E FOR OTHER REMODEL JOBS.   THANK YOU.

Tom and Doris are very experienced, professional and knowledgeable. They treated us with respect and care, were always prompt and responsive, and checked back with us at each step of the work to make sure we were satisfied. Because we lost our home in the Waldo Canyon fire, Interiors/Exteriors gave us a discount on the remodel. All the work was completed on time and according to schedule. The flooring installer did an outstanding job of matching the wood flooring that was in the kitchen - you can't even tell where the old and new flooring meet. The tile man made a few suggestions and worked with us "on the fly" to modify the design - his ideas and craftsmanship were excellent and the backsplash/wall looks wonderful. We are very happy with the workmanship, personal level of service, and excellent communication.

The ordering, measuring, and installation were all done on time whe they said they would be.
Our probalem was with the finished product. When the installer came to measure he told my wife that because of the way the windows are the blinds would let light in on the sides (supposed to be blackout shades). My wife called the store and talked to the salesman we had worked with, she was going to cancel our order if they were going to let light in. The salesman assured her that that would not be the case and they would not let light in around the sides. When they were installed, sure enough they let light in around the sides. It looks pretty bad and does not serve the purpose we wanted them too. They did give us a discount but we are now stuck with blinds that look bad and don't do what we wanted them to.

This job was perfect from start to finish, just as it was several years ago when Interiors/Exteriors did the job before.

The work was done quickly and efficiently. It is an excellent job, and I wish that I had used them before for other renovations. Everyone I worked with was friendly, polite and answered all of my questions and concerns. They took great care to protect my other property. Wonderful experience!

Everything went really well. They finished the work a little bit early. They came within the budget. The quality of work was very good. The only trouble I had was in the interim period. It was a floating floor and occasionally, it would float out from underneath the base moulding along the edge of the floor. So, I had them come out a couple of times and they took care of it as much as they could. Other than that, there has been no other problems. I spent around $6000 on the job, which was competitive. They were either the same price or lower than the other companies I had contacted. They were good at responding, but it was a little difficult to get hold of the manager as he was very busy. So it took longer to get my calls returned. I will use them again in the future.

We had water damage which caused us to need to replace the maple hardwood floors in our living and dining room. The Interiors/Exteriors organization helped us with this from the selection of the replacement wood, through installation and finalization. In every step of the way they were very easy to get hold of, were willing to work with us based on our schedules with other repair people, and they did a completely professional job. Their teams showed up and brought in the wood so it could "season" in the house environment, and they always showed up when they said they would to do the work. We had many different items for them to work around with the damage we had, but in every single case when they agreed to come at a date and time, they were there. The work they did was wonderful. There is nothing you can see in the replacement maple floors that would lead anyone who didn't know to believe that the whole floor was not original. They even helped us by finding heating vent covers that fitted flush in the floor instead of the ones we had which protruded above the floor level half an inch. And they then cut them in so the whole floor doesn't have anything to accidentally trip over. The work they did replacing our damaged carpet with hickory engineered wood product was also very high quality. Their people showed up on time, asked us questions when they needed, but otherwise just went on with a wonderful job. Everyone comments on the flooring and finds it to be unique. While Interiors/Exteriors does a lot of work with independent builders, they are open for retail work. You will get the highest quality product, access to professional installers who have worked there for years, and something that will improve the value and looks of your home. It won't be the cheapest, but you also won't have to replace whatever you buy every few years.

The service I received from the store manager was excellent. He helped identify those samples in my price range that had high quality and high wear-ability for the use. He came out promptly to measure and gave me an estimate on cost. The installation went perfectly. Installers arrived on time, got right to work and knew what they were doing. They cleaned up after themselves and were great about helping get big items back into place - i.e., refrigerator, dining room china closet, etc. This is a store that has been around since 1958 so you know it is not going away anytime soon. Some of the installers have been with the company for a very long time as well. Good group of people.
