If I owned a company with company vehicles with my name on the side, I would make absolutely sure my employees were safe, competent and courteous drivers. If the people who work for this company are so careless and rude, why would I ever hire them? If their employees cannot follow the most basic traffic rules--right turns on red are allowed AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND CHECKING FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC, how could I expect them to follow basic quality and safety rules in my home? I have to assume the quality of their work would be as bad as their driving, and their courtesy as good as the employees who like to make obscene gestures at other drivers.
Description of Work: I was on my way to work at about 7:45 this morning, approaching an intersection. The traffic light turned green as I was a couple of hundred yards away. I proceeded, and as I entered the intersection, a panel van on the perpendicular street, which obviously had a red light, came to the intersection, slowed without stopping, and lurched in front of me. I had to change lanes to avoid a collision. As I passed, I noted the sign "Homeland Mechanical" on the side of the van. After passing, I looked in my rear view mirror to make sure it was clear and changed lanes back into my original lane. As I did so, I noted the driver of the Homeland Mechanical van giving me the finger. Very nice.
