Spectacular

We've been going to High Plains for years now, and we'll never go any place else. They've always been SPECTACULAR with our animals. The staff is friendly and professional, and the doctors are extremely knowledgeable and caring. It all started when we brought our Great Dane/English mastiff mix to them for knee surgery, and they were beyond fantastic with him. We've been going there ever since. We've taken four other dogs and four cats to them, and every vet we've seen there has been kind, patient, and has taken care of our animals like they're their own. We've referred multiple friends to them.

Have been patients at High Plains for 10 months now. Each experience has been pleasant, from front desk staff to veterinarian techs to the veterinarians themselves. Have had several surgeries/procedures done - each successful. 
Offer military discount with each visit.
Will continue to recommend and utilize this veterinarian practice!

I have been going to Dr. Pierce for all of my pet's medical needs for 16 years.  She is the best vet we have ever had; we came with her to High Plains from the previous vet hospital when she and her partner opened it.  Sadly, Dr. Pierce has left the practice, so we saw Dr. Butler.  She was very conscientious with my cat, did a thorough wellness exam.  My only complaint is their prices.  They keep going up and up and up.  The fee for the wellness exam was $75.  I realize these are professionals, however $75 for a five minute exam and a vaccine is outrageous.  I will be looking for a new vet, and will go back to Dr. Pierce when she opens her new practice.

We have used this veterinarian since they have opened. Dr. Pierce is our vet, though I have also met Dr. Martz, and Dr. Mickenny. We have several pets, and have through the years so when Dr.pierce was unable to see us on quick notice, we have seen the other Drs. All are complete professionals. All of these Dr's work together and have a fine practice. They all genuinely care about our pets and they are very fair on pricing.
We have had the unfortunate experience of putting two of our pets to rest several years apart. Dr. Pierce took care of us both times. Our 6 year old lab was diagnosed with cancer by Dr. Martz. She was very professional and understood my upset. She was sensitive and did her best to assist me. I saw Dr. Mckiney on a second visit to evaluate our chances of keeping our beloved dog and using chemo to help him. She gave her honest opinions and told us our options. We did chemo, one treatment, and sadly it did not help heal our dog. Dr.pierce did the best she could to help keep our dog as comfortable and as well as we could. When it became time to let him go, Dr. Pierce truly cared about our dog. He was part of our family and she recognized that. I believe she felt almost as badly about our dog's sickness as we did. She took care of our dog very well and she was sad to see him go as well. We feel very blessed to have her take care of our furry family. The entire staff was good to us when we needed an immediate appointment for our very ill dog. Previously they also treated us very well when it was time to take in our older cat who was very sick. This staff cares about you, and your animals. As long as we have been with them, I have never had one complaint. They are respectful of you, your pets and your feelings. We now have a new puppy and as part of our family we will have Dr. Pierce take care of him for a very long time.

Dr. Matz and all the staff at High Plains, provide exceptional service and have treated all our animals.  They are very responsive and accomodating for appointments, extremely caring and do not overcharge for their services. Would highly recommend using them to care for your pet!

I have seen two vets at their clinic now, and both were easy to work with, explained how to treat my cat and completed the tests and services promptly.  I plan to return to them for ongoing pet care.  The regular front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

We take our two dogs in yearly for their annual exams, and as needed for anything else that might come up. Dr. Pierce treated our male who was having an eye issue, using topical medicine. She wanted to do everything she could before having to use surgery as a last resort. The 2nd round of treatment worked, and we did not have to do surgery. This proved to me that she was trustworthy, and was willing to take the time to give our male what he needed to be treated in the least intrusive way.
Our female pug had a knee replacement surgery that was completed in November of 2009. The first surgery did not give Dr. Pierce the results she was hoping for, so at NO charge...she completed the surgery again and the she was then satisfied with the end result. You could NEVER tell, that our female was at one point...not using her leg at all. We are very happy we decided to do the surgery, and we were very pleased that Dr. Pierce wanted the results she was hoping for and was willing to the surgery again (at no charge).
High Plains has an EXCELLENT front office staff. They are courteous, polite, and respectful. We actually get our prescription dog food from another veterinarian here in town due to the convince, and High Plains NEVER has a problem fulfilling the prescription to a different vet practice.
We would recommend High Plains Veterinarian  to all of our family and friends, and will continue to use them for years to come.

My newly adopted cats had extensive dental work at High Plains. The overall cost was slightly less than the estimate, which was a pleasant surprise. All of the staff are very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The procedures went very well and the vet actually called me herself to let me know they were out of surgery. I have taken all of my previous pets to this clinic and I have only rave reviews. After living in many different states and even in Europe I have had experience with many vets and this clinic is by far the best I have encountered.

I moved to Colorado from out of state and immediately had to take my dog to the emergency vet for a bladder infection. I then had to immediately find a "day vet" in order to continue his treatment. I found High Plains Veterinary and was extremely happy with their services. My dog had to have surgery and it was performed at a very fair price and Dr. McKenney did a wonderful job with the surgery. I intially met with Dr. Butler who is absolutely wonderful as well. The Drs. and staff are truly concerned about the animals. They always follow up and make sure everything is ok. My dog has been treated with the best care he has had in his life.  My previous vets were all about the money and shoving products down my throat.  The staff at High Plains is always courteous, kind and caring.  They are very patient and answer all my questions.  I am also impressed with how they talk to you and respect your opinion as the pet owner.  Their prices are very reasonable and they have been very prompt with my appointments.  I highly recommend them.  Even if I end up moving across town, my pets and I will make the trip to see the great vets at High Plains Veterinary!

I have just moved to the area and needed to find a new vets.  I joined Angies list and found High Plains on here.  I went in and told them we had just moved and that I needed to register my dogs and get a county tag.  They were extremely pleasant, very helpful and very efficient.  I got an appointment for the next day and was seen within 10 minutes of my arrival.  The vet was excellent, very knowledgable, friendly to my boys and explained everything to me.  I would highly recommend them.

We switched from another vet to go to her because we really like her. They do a lot of community service work with rescue animals. They are just awesome all the way through.

Dr. McKinney is awesome. She is so skilled and has such a passion for the animals. She has such a big heart and is so passionate. She is an amazing person.

Because we had a pleasant experience with this vet previously, we returned with our cat Alice that was having difficulty breathing and was coughing continually.  Alice was xrayed and confirmed that she had asthma.  We were given medicine and her symptoms went away immediately.

We took our cat Rocky in for his initial visit on 2/20 and were given an idea of what needed to be done to rid him of his jaw pain.  We returned on surgery day 2/27 and were given a detailed list of what needed to be done and were given an unexpected discount because we hit their dental month.  We returned for Rocky that evening and the vet tech detailed all that was done to Rocky and went through what to look for in reactions and what pain medication to give.  I liked the fact that everything was also spelled out on their invoice.  Rocky recovered from his double tooth extraction in record time which also pleased me.

We were very happy with the staff.  Very pleasant from the front desk to the doctor.
