 + -1 moreIf for some reason you read this and still hire Heckman and Son's, insist he outsource the texture, doesn't spit on your floor, and use a square and level when framing. I don't know how he would have finished the job (tiling, doors, trim, etc.). I'm just glad I stopped him before I had to replace all the drywall!
Description of Work: Hired to finish basement. Issues from day 1 to include spitting tobacco on floor. Windows were not plumb or square, walls were not level, door jams were not level, bulges in drywall due to poor framing. The worst thing was the texture job. If the texture was done to match upstairs, then we may have let things go, but bringing in outside experts to determine how to fix texture brought to light all the other issues. It cost us nearly $6,000 to repair framing and texture before we could move on with subcontractors.
