Josh and his team did a wonderful job with our flooring, baseboards and stairs. His level of professionalism, expertise and ability to work within our budget was fantastic. We will absolutely be using his services again soon.

Nice guys to work with, but the quality of work was not up to standards. The original project was to remodel several bathrooms, but chose this company to do upgrading doors. The quote came in at a very reasonable rate and gave the ok for the project to begin. The job required removing outdated doors and replacing them with new ones. When they called the job done I found several issues such as out of square doors, bad paint jobs (which they blamed on me, for opening a garage door they had propped up several doors and had not told anyone), damaged doors, rough edges, hinges misaligned, over caulking to hid mistakes. I spoke with them about my concerns and they asked if they could be given the chance to fix it. I agreed and even purchased several tools to help them complete the job. They attempted to fix each of the issues but it still lacked quality. Example: the door leading out to the garage was completely replaced. The first go around it was out of square and they used a ton of caulk to cover large gaps. When I addressed this they removed the door and reinstalled it square. However, it was not lined up with the wall so I had to cut away dry wall on one side and add strips on the other side to install the trim. They kept asking me if I was satisfied, I was not but paid them anyway to get the experience behind me. I now have 14 doors I am in the process of either replacing or having to repaint and repair the work that was done. I wasn’t going to write a review, however, I keep finding other issues, Examples are the top of one of the new doors is missing and the door itself is broken, trim in a closet broken, some of our flooring not properly replaced, saw dust everywhere you can imagine, closet doors missing pieces, doors on one side appear squared, but not the other side it has large gaps. I blame myself for going cheap and not checking references. This has not been the experience I have had with previous Angi references, and I will not use them again.

Josh was excellent to work with, full stop. I have maintained a rental portfolio for a decade and know that a great contractor is difficult to come by. But from the first minute of contact about a chimney leak reported by my tenants, Josh and his team were on it. He was quick and professional and handled many of the logistics of the day because I wasn't able to be physically present on site during the inspection of the water damage. His quote was precise and thorough and he anticipated what we might find behind the walls and quoted me for many "just in case" scenarios in advance of opening anything up. This gave me tremendous peace of mind as we got into the project. The work itself was professional and well-documented for me, and the communication from Josh throughout was stand-out in an industry where this isn't always prioritized. The quote, which was fairly priced, was honored, and Josh handled many other little details (like finding and mixing old paint I had in the garage) without extra charge or complaint. I've already begun referring Hearth and Hammer to my other contacts in the area and give my endorsement here without reservation!
