First, I do a LOT of research when purchasing high dollar items and products I have had problems with in the past. We went to Denver Mattress on Furniture Row because it was the only place in the Denver/Colorado Springs metro area that actually had latex mattresses available to try out. Most latex mattresses are only available online (a pig in a poke - if you don't like it, you have to pay to send it back), and when you're talking over $1000 for a mattress, that can make you a little nervous. We wanted latex because we both have allergies and latex is the only material (unless, of course, you have a latex allergy) for mattresses that is hypoallergenic. Not only that, it does not break down like innersprings (my parents had one for 30 years), and does not have the issues memory foam does (uncomfortably warm in summer, just plain uncomfortable for people who move around a lot in their sleep) or that sleep number does (cells collapsing, difficulty in getting manufacturer to make good) reported by users of both types. At Denver Mattress, our salesman was very helpful, accomodating and non-pressure, which we appreciated. We settled on a mattress and boxsprings and made arrangements to have it delivered. We were able to arrange delivery right when we wanted it. The guys did a nice job of setting up, including taking care not to scratch our new hardwood floor. Everything went very smoothly and we have been quite satisfied with our new mattress.
