Fruition LLC
About us
Design to Turn-Key Construction and Reconstruction. As the Owner of Fruition, I work closely with the client to fully comprehend their thoughts and dreams for their space. We work together to come up with a design that meets their goals in the most cost-effective manner possible. Our designs and finishes are creative and unique, not the same old, same old. OUR goal is YOUR goal. We use new and innovative products, that are thoroughly researched and proven, where feasible. We treat the job site as if it's our own home, keeping the site clean and organized, paying special attention to keeping dust and debris to a minimum, especially in unaffected areas of the home. We strive to align ourselves with the best specialty subcontactors available - only those with the best reputations will do. Lastly, we don't leave until the whole project, every little detail, is completed. Our best asset - our final bid is what you will pay - no surprises at the end of your project. Only changes to the project initiated by the client, encouraged by Fruition to improve the initial design and approved by the customer, or unforeseen circumstances, such as mold or termite mitigation, would affect the bottom line and would be fully disclosed and discussed mid-project. We are in constant contact with the client throughout the project, either on-site or a phone call away, to answer questions. Bids and designs are free. If you decide our chemistry is not right, you may purchase your design and take it with you to another Contractor. We pride ourselves on our customer service, repeat business and word of mouth. Some of our best customers are our previous clients, whom we consider friends. Our motto - there is a solution to every problem!

The first phase was the repairing of the bedroom level and working in the laundry/office level. We had ceilings depopcorned, storage area access doors enlarged, bi-fold closet doors were replaced with french doors, cracks repaired, wood flooring refinished and filled in when missing after the carpet was removed, new molding and trim installed through out and fresh paint on all surfaces. In the laundry area there was a stucco type wall that was ugly, Steve has recovered the area and it is vastly improved! When he was finished I said and quot; This is too pretty to be a laundry room now!and quot;
The second phase was to work in the master bedroom with adjacent bath. Ceilings, wood floor resurfaced, new molding and trim, new texturing of the ceilings and walls, new fixtures, vanities and flooring in the bath and enlarging the doorway into the bath to accommodate a wheelchair.
While the first two phases were being worked on we continued to plan the final phase which included the remodel of the kitchen. Once everything was settled we proceeded with the final phase, tentative dates became set in the schedule. Demolition began, then reconstruction of the new kitchen space as well as the repairs to the dining and living rooms with up dating of the spaces.
This final phase began January 2nd and was scheduled to be completed by the end of February, 99% of it was. A couple of glitches that were out of our control were resolved as quickly as possible and Steve stayed in touch keeping us informed of the expected dates for completion of those minor issues. Remodeling a kitchen is no small task, we had to strip down to the studs and rebuild from there, electrical, plumbing, cabinets, counters, tiling, flooring, appliances . . . It was mind boggling but Steve had it all under control down to the smallest of details. We had windows removed in the kitchen area and new ones put in that were in a different location during some of our coldest/windier days in January. Steve made sure to coordinate the removal and installation with minimal exposure to the elements, placing a temporary protective wall when needed. We were amazed at the transformation that was taking place in our home. We are thrilled with the end result and would not dream of having a different contractor for any other work that will arise (this is a house there is always something coming up)!
In conclusion I could not recommend a more professional, honest, hard working company to take care of any construction needs that would arise. Steve and Fruition will always be our choice for a contractor even if we have to wait a long time to get in the schedule!
What I love about Fruition is that Steve Uvegas is a general contractor with a complete crew at his disposal. That means you aren't at the mercy of someone promising to show. Steve coordinates the subcontractors who arrive when they say they will. This keeps your project on time and on budget. Steve is also extremely budget conscious and puts the money where it needs to be spent and saves money where he can.
He is familiar with every home building store in Colorado Springs and knows where he will get the best customer service and cost. He is detail-oriented in that you're not going to get surprises in a contract or when work is performed. He provides his proposal in black and white. He was so trustworthy that we provided him our credit card which we tracked on line. He provided us the receipts which balanced to the penny. If we weren't happy with an item, back it went.
As for the finished product, we have been amazed. His crew demolished and gutted and made what I feel is one beautiful remodel. The talk of the neighborhood. We love Fruition and everything about this contractor. The project began in January and was completed in April 2010.
We were impressed with his integrity and pride in his work. He met with us to discuss our plan and soon sent us quotes for each part of the remodel. As the contractor, he kept us aware of each part of the remodel, telling us who would do the lighting, painting, creating the template for the countertops, and finally the installation. We knew the time each would arrive and duration of their part. Steve was constantly checking in to see what was done and often helping. The old countertop and sink were removed. They cleaned up after each job. Steve guided us in purchasing the sink and lights, as well as giving us pointers in rejuvenating our old cabinets, even keeping our stainless steel appliances spotless. A close friend recommended Fruition and we would highly recommend him, too
“Sure,” I say, “take one.” I have a little stack sitting on my gorgeous new granite countertop because I know I’m going to get asked that question again and again. Working with Steve to transform my kitchen has been the absolute best experience I’ve ever had working with a contractor on any project. He is #1!
Steve spent several hours with me going over my vision, what I wanted to accomplish, and what I liked--from preferred colors to types of materials, even whether I was more interested in baking or cooking meals. He also listened to what frustrated me about the existing design and incorporated everything we discussed into the design he proposed.
The very first day of the project, Steve handed me a printed copy of the schedule, and he has ensured that his team stay on schedule. Steve is very professional in everything he does, and great to work with. His bid was detailed and comprehensive. There were no surprises! I like the work he and his subcontractors do so much that I did ask for some change orders, and Steve was very prompt in getting me pricing estimates on any changes that I requested. He is very respectful of his client's budget and willing to discuss alternate solutions. He is an engineer and also very creative so focuses not only on what I've asked him to do, but also on suggesting alternate solutions to meet my goals.
He selects the finest craftsmen to work with him on specialized aspects of the project. And every one he invited into my home to do work was prompt, professional, respectful, and very talented! Steve always spends time with them before they begin their part of the project as well to ensure that what he and I have agreed on is delivered. For instance, the drywall specialist he hired, provided me with samples of three finishes that he could put on the walls and they both spent time with me explaining what the final result would be and making recommendations based on things like the size of the room, the natural lighting and how evening lighting would reveal the finish.
The floors are breathtaking—Steve’s subcontractor transformed dull, drab wood into a work of art. The color and grain of the wood absolutely pops. It was like finding out someone had painted over a Picasso. Steve works with artisans who are expert at revealing the best qualities of the space and the materials they work with.
I thought I was happy with the floors, and I am and always will be. But Steve wasn’t done surprising and delighting. He went with me to choose the granite for the counters, and found a unique piece of stone that worked perfectly for my kitchen. I did have to pay a little more for it, but there was no pressure and Steve helped me find plenty of alternatives that would have worked very well with my overall design. But this stone was special, and Steve worked with the company that cut and installed the stone to make sure that it was cut in a way that highlighted the natural beauty and, as Steve says, the “action” in the stone. My counters are another work of art! The first person to see them installed said, “Wow! They were able to make the cuts with no seams?” Steve said, “That’s what we like to hear,” because of course there was a seam but based on the way the stone was cut it’s hardly visible and both pieces of the stone fit together as if they came that way.
Everyone on Steve’s crew is considerate and respectful. When I worked from home and had an important conference call, they would work around something like that and take an early lunch or switch to a quieter task during the call. Of course knocking down walls and installing wood floors does create quite a bit of noise and dust, but I was so very impressed with how Steve and everyone on the job went out of their way to make living under construction as easy as possible.
My son swears that the air flows differently throughout the house. He says that Steve’s remodel has improved our feng shui. Before the remodel, we didn’t spend much time in the living room or kitchen. Now it’s our favorite place in the house.
