STAY AWAY from EXTREME LANDSCAPING in Colorado Springs! We had a new home built in 2009. This is the fifth home we have had built, and as this is (hopefully) our last, it is by far the nicest home we have owned/built. Our builder was top-notch, but the sub-contractor landscaper the builder used was absolutely terrible. Our landscaping budget was approximately $10,000; everything went in OK, except they used pea gravel instead of the river rock we requested -- not too big of a deal, and my wife and I let it slide. However, after living in our home for 8 months, we have had numerous plants die and the a lot of the "drill seeding" of the lawn never germinated. I called EXTREME LANDSCAPING directly, and met with the owner on a Saturday in early-May. He agreed to replace the approximately 10 dead plants and re-seed the lawn. After not hearing anything for 10 days or more, I called him back and left a v-mail. Over the next 3 weeks I left him approximately eight v-mails. He finally returned my calls and said he would "get back with me." Two more weeks went by, and still nothing was heard... I called again and left v-mail #9 and told him I was going to report him to the Better Business Bureau, and if necessary, take him to court. I guess that FINALLY got his attention and he called me back! Imagine that... The first thing the owner did was tell me to "not threaten him with phone calls to the BBB." He then proceeded to berate me over the phone, telling me the plants were only warranted for 90 days and not 1 year (as he originally told me when they were installed 8 months prior), and he was only going to replace them out of the goodness of his heart. (Funny how his story/warranty changed after all the plants died.) After cursing and yelling at me over the phone, he hung up on me, never to call back. I'm out a ton of money and wasted hours of time trying to get the OWNER to call me back. Too bad he is so unprofessional. If your family or business is looking for a competent, professional landscaper who stands behind their work, look somewhere else! DO NOT USE EXTREME LANDSCAPING IN COLORADO SPRINGS!!
