This review was submitted to Elevated Views prior to posting publicly but they never responded. Slightly more than one year ago, we purchased Graber window treatments through Costco. The “qualified service provider” used by Costco at that time (and maybe still) was Elevated Views. Scott, from Elevated Views, brought books of sample swatches over to our home. The process of selecting our preferred options was effortless. After a period of time, our shades were delivered and installed. They looked beautiful. We ordered blackout shades for our bedroom and light filtering shades for our kid’s room and guest bedroom. Within a few months the shades in the kid’s room and the master bedroom were badly frayed despite very little use. Immediately I contacted Elevated Views. They came out and assessed the situation and determined to replace the original shades. The second set of shades were installed with a bit of tape applied to the roll bar in order to ensure that the shades didn’t shift side to side while in use. This “telescoping” process was thought to cause the fraying. We were relieved to have the matter efficiently resolved. Unfortunately, within the next few months the fraying had begun again. We contacted Elevated Views. We called and emailed. And emailed again. And again. Finally, one month later, Nathan (Account Executive with Elevated Views) replied, stating that he had been waiting to hear back from the manufacturer (Graber) and “ended up having to start over on my request to them”. He offered, “They [Graber] were looking at solutions for the recurring issue and think that it might help to change the lift system, I know you currently have a cordless system for the shades; however they were thinking that if we switched them to a continuous loop corded option the clutch mechanism on the lift guides the material in better and doesn’t allow it to move side to side as much which may prevent further fraying. They [Graber] said they could offer a one time switch over to the other lift system so that it falls under the warranty at no cost to you”. Unfortunately with young children in the house, the continuous loop corded option didn’t seem like the safest choice. So, we asked if we could pay an additional fee to have the blinds motorized hoping that change in lift system might also serve to remedy the problem. But, Nathan didn’t initially reply to our inquiry. So we asked again via email. And two weeks later Nathan replies, “I actually assigned one of our designers Scott to reach out and do the quote for you”. Nearly six weeks have passed since our initial contact to Elevated Views about the recurring fraying of the shades. Scott was more communicative. When I periodically checked in with Scott via text, he would update me on his correspondence with Graber. Three weeks later he texted, “Spoke to my Graber rep over the weekend and she has directed your situation to the head of customer service at Graber. Not sure if you’ve gotten a call from them yet but you should be expecting one soon”. Three weeks later after no word from Graber I reach out to Scott again to which Scott replies, “I thought they would have contacted you directly by now. We have a meeting with our new Graber rep later this morning so I will follow up with her on that”. Four days later, I receive a voice message from Nathan (Account Executive with Elevated Views) inviting me to schedule a trimming of the frayed shades and possibly a leveling. So, I reach out to Scott asking, “Is this the solution being offered by Elevated Views”? To which Scott replies, “Actually that’s what Graber is saying needs to be done at this point as they’ve already replaced them before and believe that leaving them should fix the problem. If that doesn’t then will execute another plan”. So, it’s been three months and finally Elevated Views presents a solution and their solution is to leave the shades and simply trim the fray and level the rods. Suggesting that the fraying is attributable to poor leveling also suggests that the shades were improperly installed (that they weren’t level at installation) the first time and the second time despite the fact that Elevated Views installs shades all day every day. I’m at my whits end. I’ve been extremely patient and even offered to pay a fee to upgrade to the motorized lift option. Throughout this process, Elevated Views has acted painfully slow and with extremely delayed communication. I am extraordinarily disappointed in the poor quality of the product and the apathetic approach of the Elevated Views staff. We’ve been Costco members for decades and this experience with Elevated Views has proven to be the worst purchase we’ve ever made. A very costly mistake.

This required a visit for a no-cost estimate based on our selection of choices. That was super. The second visit was for installation. Two men came out and also did a super job. We are very pleased with the end result.

Update:  I noticed that one of our cordless cellular shades that opens from the top down in our master bedroom was uneven & nothing I did would correct it.  I called Katie to see if someone could come out and take a look and she had her install guy come out that week.  He attempted to fix, but could not so he stated that he would have Katie order a new shade for us.  Katie called me a few days later and stated that Graber no longer carried the color of our shade, so Graber was going to replace all of the shades in our bedroom so that they would all match.  Wow....that is amazing service that Graber gives.  So she ordered all 3 shades plus we have a door with a shade and they replaced that too.  It took 2-3 weeks for the new shades to come in and Ryan came and installed very quickly.  He boxed up the ones he took down and even carried them to my basement for me.  If I would have purchased our shades from JC Penney or Lowes there is no way that someone would have come out to check the blind.  I would have had to remove myself and take in and then replace myself.  One more reason I am so happy with Made in the Shade and their incredible service.  Thank you!!

The representative was well informed and offered options for us.  He did not rush us through our decision.  We felt for the price and guarantee, we were making the correct decision.

The quote was reasonable and we discussed the materials.  There was an issue with the blinds opening crookedly and they came pretty promptly to correct this.  I had received other estimates in the $800 range so there's was very cost-effective.

Scheduling was fine.  They were very punctual and came out promptly. They came out once to measure and then he came out to install them.

Bryan was early and came in with a lot of ideas and visuals.  He really walked us through our options so we could decide what was best for us.  He measured all windows, gave multiple options, and helped with color decisions.  When he determined that some of the abilities of the blinds were not possible to large window size, he helped come up with other options that did work.  He was able to print out multiple quotes on site, take payment, and let us know the next steps of the process at the time of service.

We originally had all our blinds installed by another company and were disappointed with the results. We contacted Made in the Shade to find a new treatment for the most problematic of the windows. They quickly came up with a perfect, inexpensive solution that was installed quickly after they removed the previously installed blinds. We wish we had found them for our initial purchase - the product is better, no more expensive and they were so enjoyable to work with.

Ryan came to the house promptly, with samples, and good suggestions.  We are very happy with the quality of the products and the workmanship in installing them.  Friendly and helpful.  Prices were very reasonable.    Would highly recommend Made in the Shade for all window treatments.
