D&L EXCAVATION LLC

Our driveway was becoming the grand canyon. Ruts and deep crevasses were making it difficult for our two wheel drive vehicles. We have about 150 yards of driveway and wanted to keep with a natural looking driveway (as we are off a dirt road in Black Forest). The Excavators that our General Contractor friend suggested never called us back so I went looking for someone in Black Forest (before I there was an Angie's List). D&L came up on an Internet search and I called them. I wouldn't say he was the most professional of looking fellas, but he was eager to work and had the tools and experience. I appreciated his call back so quickly as well. Although, with that said, he did mention that I was 'lucky' because he was between jobs. Not a great endorsement for himself, but those were his words. The road base was delivered in one day and he was able to get it all spread out with a slight crown (for water drainage). He owns his own backhoe and a few other large yellow-iron pieces, so I would consider using him again. As long as it was a project that didn't take over a week. Beyond that, I wonder about his loyalty to a project.
