Many months previous to the October 2014 service with Cooper, another automotive services provider, in the course of changing the oil, told me my car had a serious problem that needed immediate attention because it was an issue of safety, and the service would cost about $400. I don't trust the other provider, as they always seemed to find expensive problems when they changed the oil. I researched the supposed problem online to become familiar with it, then took my car to Cooper for a second opinion because of good reviews on Angie's List. Cooper put my car on the lift and checked it out. They said the purported problem did not exist, and showed me how they determined this (which was how the process was also described in my research). They did find a couple of more minor problems, but said they merited watching and did not require immediate attention. They reassured me that there was no safety issue with my car. For their time and effort they charged me nothing. 
Fast forward several months to when my "check engine" kept coming on. I delayed quite a while but eventually took it in to Cooper because of my previous experience (described above). Because two problems showed up in their reading for the check engine, they spent a fair amount of time researching the issues to determine what was the really going on, and how to fix it in the most economical way for me. They replaced the crankshaft position sensor for a very affordable $96 and my car has been happy since. 
I am very impressed with the time that was taken with my car's issues, the lack of pressure, the honesty in letting me know about the two problems that need watching but not immediate attention, and the effort to complete the necessary repair economically. I have recommended Cooper Automotive to several friends. It is very nice to not have to feel anxious about being ripped off by Cooper as I have been by other automotive service providers.

Their very knowledgeable staff helped me understand my car's problem over the phone in language I could understand.  They were patient and happy to answer any questions I had.  They had the best quote in town, almost $400 less than one of their competitors.  They got me in promptly and communicated with me every step of the way.  When, while they were in there, they realized that another belt and a filter needed to be replaced they charged me for parts only, no labor.  They put everything back together and tested it and made some adjustments before giving the car back to me.  And they guarantee/warranty their work, even offering me free roadside assistance if something happened that their work might be responsible for.  Overall they are a solid honest company and I definitely plan on going back.

I was impressed from start to finish by the service I received.  The guys were professional, communicated everything clearly and completed the service promptly. Would not hesitate to use them again.

My car was towed to the shop when it broke down on the highway.  They started work on it the next day and kept me a breast of the issues, solution and progress.  Well done!

It went very well.  The work has always been dependable, they fix what needs to be fixed, they got it right.  I have taken several cars to them throughout the years. They are fine folks and do a great job for me.

We have always been very happy with Cooper's. My car is running great. If you are willing to pay a little extra, you are going to get a job well done. Jim is very honest. If he can't do the work, he will recommend you elsewhere. I wouldn't go anywhere else and I wouldn't trust anyone with vehicle like I do him.

I have used them for years and I think they are great. They have a terrific value for the price. What I appreciated is that if they saw something that could be a potential problem, they would let me know, but never pressure me into handling it right that moment.

The work has turned out excellent. We have used them for years. I work closely with Jim. They are very thorough and very honest about their work. The time to complete the work has always been reasonable.

They are excellent. I would highly recommend them. They did change management, but the workers who worked with the previous management, stayed. Their workers do very quality work.

They are absolutely fabulous. It’s a great value in terms of pricing. I am a single older woman; Jim would always look at the car and fix what he had to. He would always tell me what else needed to be done. If I lived closer, I would definitely go back there. It's a great company!

The service is very excellent. They are very honest and they don’t rip woman off. They will secure the car at the night and they do what they say they are going.

Brake system was done perfectly, but they had to come and get my car because the back windshield wiper was missing and nothing involved in that process worked.  Ian went out of his way to make the situation right by coming to get my vehicle and complete the work I had paid for.  The bill was $705 and change, and I was quoted for my faulty window, and advised not to use it lest it break while it's rolled down.
I originally wrote a bad review because of a few circumstances, which I will chock up to honest coincidences:
1. My driver window got rolled down, despite the fact that the same shop told me earlier in the day not to use it because the motor was going out in it.
2. The motor did go out, so I was forced to pay additional (but discounted) money to get that fixed.
3. About 1/4 of the gas in my tank was missing.  I could be wrong, but I distinctly remember filling my tank that Friday, and I used enough gas so that by the time I dropped the car off Monday, there was just over a half a tank.  I got it back with a quarter tank.
4. The heating controls were turned all the way to hot, and the fan all the way to high.  This is different than how I keep my controls, so I don't know if they were running my car the whole time it was being worked on, or what.  I can only speculate.
However, I realized that when it rains it pours, and I have had days where I could seemingly do nothing right.  I have used Cooper Automotive several times in the past without incident, and always leave feeling like I had an honest dealing with a knowledgeable shop.  For this reason, I had my bad review deleted, and I am re-writing it with a higher rating.  If the circumstances I named above were indeed coincidences, then I have to give credit to Cooper (and mostly Ian) for going out of their way to make sure that I was taken care of after that fiasco.  I did not expect to have a discount on the unexpected services, but it did make it a little easier to afford, considering I was not expecting any extra expenses for a couple of weeks.
This situation put a strain on my budget this month, but I do have a fully functioning vehicle with repairs that were properly completed [in the end].
