CLEMENTE REAL ESTATE SVC

This was the worst rental experience I had in 23 years of military service with 17 moves and many rentals. While service during my occupany was fair (C), my end of lease experience was absolutely horrible. I had kept the house in better condition than the owners to include a weekly housekeeper. The house owner's wife actually commented on how thankful she was that I had taken such good care of her house. So, imagine my surprise when after 60 days I get over $800 in charges for routine maintenance and anything else they could dream up. For example: I cleaned the dirty fireplace glass and turned off the gas to keep the owners from being charged. Clemente billed me for replacing the glass saying that I had broken the seal eventhough the unit had screws to remove the glass. Another example was billing me for a new disposal they say that I had stuffed popcycle stick down it. That was the most rediculus thing I've heard. First of all my housekeeper took meticulous care of everything (to include the final cleaning) and my children are very respectful and did no damage anywhere in the house. Clemete was just getting me to pay for a disposal that worked but had a noisy barring (for as long as I had rented). Additionally, I was billed for a damaged portable heater that the owner had left rusting in the shed (fire hazard) and for a vacuum that I didn't use nor was it included in the lease. The big mistake on my part was not insisting that I attend the final walk through inspection (they couldn't come before I had to go out of town for vacation.) Even though I repeatedly asked, I was never given a copy of the inspection report. BBB gave them an F. They earned it. Clemente currently has a B+ BBB rating (6 filed complaints) but that's only because BBB doesn't follow up or arbitrate/mediate and over time, BBB lets the ratings creep up. These guys are so bad that when I sent my formal complaint registered mail, they did not except it and had it "returned to sender!" No integrity what so ever. I apologize for this late review; however, only recently became an Angies' List member and felt compelled to warn other members.
