The glass was difficult to take out of the fireplace. The techs spent a good deal of time trying to figure it out. We ended up calling High Altitude Heating and they came out to help City Glass remove it. City Glass paid for the service call on their own initiative and honored their quote. Overall, great service and really nice guys to work with. Would recommend.

Over the last eight years we have contracted with City Glass Company on separate occasions to replace glass in 17 casement windows, install 2 custom glass shower enclosures, replace 1 patio door glass, 1 frosted glass bathroom window, and 1 side light. Until the most recent work order, we have had good experiences with every job. The installers have always been professional, done impeccable work, and cleaned up when they were done. This latest installation, however, was a disaster, and the problems were numerous: 1. They started the job by removing the patio door and disassembling it inside the house, getting dirt and paint chips on my new carpet. They could have merely turned around and worked on the saw horses I left sitting outside, next to the door. I had to pick up the door and move it outside so they would finish it out there. 2. Glass was installed incorrectly in the window frames, some because they hadn’t removed the cork squares that separate the glass during shipping and transportation, and others due to nails and debris left in the frames. They tried to caulk over them rather than remove them. 3. They weren’t aware there were three low e glass windows that had specific locations. They had to go back and identify them after they had installed one elsewhere. 4. Discontinuous beads and globs of clear silicone on the outside of the glass, and globs of clear silicone caulk on the inside. The exterior caulk beads (clear) didn’t even bridge the gap between glass and frame, there were chunks of wood left in the corners next to silicone finger prints on the glass. 5. They didn’t attempt to caulk the inside of the windows. 6. They left a mess behind both inside and outside and never cleaned the glass. I laid out rugs on the white carpet in the rooms which they ignored and walked on the carpet anyway. I have never had to clean up after their installation crew before. 7. I contacted the shop and the installation manager came out and looked at the work. The installation crew returned and reinstalled the windows, and they did a minimally passable job of sealing and installing the glass this time. They missed interior caulking on some windows however, one which still needed interior and exterior caulking. They sent out a different installation tech. He did a better job of caulking, but used a color that didn't even come close to matching, and a silicone base that cannot be painted. 8. We noticed after a few months that the white interior caulking was rusting in spots. We found they had left the old nails they pulled out laying in the frames and the caulk absorbed the rust. 9. When cleaning the windows this summer we noticed tiny paint spots on the glass, inside, between the sealed glass panes. Too late, warranty expired. 10. It has been one year and one month since they installed these windows now and since the warranty expired I have no reason to withhold my critique about City Glass. I am very disappointed with the quality of work and quality of glass (there should be no contamination inside a sealed glass window). Unlikely I will use them again.

After several weeks of phone tag into the sales department, I was able to get an estimate and agree on a final price.  The estimator came out right away to take the measurements?great service.  The final price comprised of about 60% material & 40% labor.  I didn't have any issue with the material price?is what it is?right?  I did however struggle with the labor price.  To calculate the installation rate they used a 2 hour per installer and 2 installer minimum @ $70 hr?.hence 4hrs $280.  By the way that includes driving time from shop to site.  Dealing with glass all jobs require 2 installers,  drive to the site and install a single door.  In an out....30 minutes, and I'm rounding up.   Hence, 1.5 hrs 2x installers?3hrs.
Do you think they offered to adjust the installation rate from 4hr to 3hrs????
Net-Net?they did a great job and the finished product looks great?it?s a shower door.  I'd use them again because...frankly they know glass.  Yeah..I wasn't thrilled with paying the extra hour for install time?nor was I thrilled they didn't automatically re-adjust the actual labor time.  Lesson learn?negotiate better up front.   Oh by the way?City Glass and Pikes Peak Glass are owned by the same person.

"Hi [Member Name Removed], Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with City Glass Company. I’m happy to read you experienced “great service” and your “finished product looks great.” I apologize for the labor cost confusion. Shower door installations requires behind the scenes work such as material preparation (cutting, finishing, etc…). Material preparation time is included in our labor cost estimates. If I may be of help in the future, please don’t hesitate to call me at 719-634-2891. Thank you again for your feedback and I hope you enjoy your new shower door for years to come. Sincerely, Chris Bole"

I must say that City Glass did a great job and completed the project on the promised date.  The promised date was the day before Thanksgiving.  This was the last item for our complete master bathroom remodeling.  The overall opening was approximately 64 inches.  The frameless door/wall are the finishing pieces that made for a great and modern bathroom.  We are very please that we went with this design for it gives the bathroom the appearance of being much larger.  We need to give a shout out to Pat for doing what he said he would do.  Pat even came out on the installed which impressed us as well. The door/wall are perfect.  It is hard to get perfection these days along with good customer service, but in this case we received both.  Well done to the entire staff of City Glass.  I wish I had the name of the primary installer to give a shout out to for he is truly a professional in his trade.

As a result of the storm, there were a lot of homes that needed window repairs so they were backed up. It took 3 weeks from the time of their first visit to the time of the repair. We have used them in the past and they have been very responsive.

They were punctual in arriving for the estimate, and the turnaround for my order was only a couple of weeks. When they came to install the shower door, they discovered that my tiles were loose and were unable to complete the installation. They gave me the name of some tile repair services, and told me to call them when the work was complete - they'd return to install the door at no extra charge.
They arrived on December 23rd - the last day they worked before the holiday closures. They squeezed me in because they wanted to ensure my work was done before Christmas. They did a great job, and I would definitely hire them again!

The installers were very personable - took their time, did it right, immediately corrected anything we didn't like. However, they left the packing materials from the glass and hardware on our porch until the last day and every night the wind would carry pieces of plastic and cardboard out into our lawn and our neighbors. They also said they would leave us cleaner and didn't - but when we called someone came right out with some.
When we first called for an estimate - someone came right out - but came on the wrong day. Then they came out 3 times to measure. When they put a sample on order no one called to tell us it was in so we could look at it to determine if we wanted it. No one called us when the order came in - we had to keep calling and checking on things. We left alot of messages on both the phone and by email - some were answered - some were not.
When it was finally scheduled for installation - they rescheduled twice. Once the job was started the installers could never tell us what time or day they would be here - as they apparently get pulled to do other jobs. We weren't in any hurry - but it was frustrating because we wanted to be here to watch the work - but couldn't just sit at the house every day hoping they would show up. We did get one - and quot;sorry they didn't get there todayand quot; - phonecall.
We were overall very pleased with the finished product. We would use them again because of the great job they did. But we would have to steel ourselves to deal with the chaos.
Response from City Glass Company
"Thanks for the review. Reviews are how our customers saw the job being completed. I've responded to a few of the issues brough up: 1. Sorry about our glaziers not cleaning up their mess. They are instructed to do so, and we spoke with our crews again about that. 2. We block size glass for estimating purposes, so that was the first measure trip. Once we got the project, we lazer-measured the openings, which takes a lot of time, thus not being completed on the bid trip. The glazier forgot one size, thus the third trip. I'm sure you can appreciate us wanting to make sure the glass fits perfectly! 3. Sorry about the issues we had with communication. Bob felt like he was communicating with you via email on a regular basis. I'm glad you are happy finished product, and we look forward to working with you in the future."
