I had a highly recommended painter estimate and complete the work that needed to be done to correct the shortcomings of CPC's paint crew. It came out to ~$2,000. I'm now even more disappointed in CPC's foreman who shrugged off $2,000 of work that needed to be done to clean up the result of his poor attention to detail.

-- Update 4/15/2014 --
A concrete pad, one (maybe more) concrete fence post footers, and 25 trees cut down to mulch level were left in the yard. Gardening has been very difficult because of this.

Charlie Paterson Construction (CPC) states they have a five year guarantee. While I didn't contract them directly, the house I purchased had been worked on by them in 2010. There were a few issues with the work so I approached the company. They stated they would fix some issues, but not others.
After I contacted CPC, an employee inspected the issues with their work. These issues included poor quality painting (you can see wood through some paint, streaks of the wrong color of paint, heavy runs, unfilled nail holes, protruding nail holes), multiple cracks in the paint work on door frames, corners, and the ceiling, and electrical problems. The employee shrugged off the excessive paint problems, but said he would have the electrical problems assessed.
A few days later an electrician arrived at the house. The electrician, instead of only assessing the problems, corrected the problems immediately and left.
About a week later, the CPC employee called me to state the electrician wanted reimbursement from CPC. I asked the employee to explain what he wanted from me. He said he would call me back. He never called back.
A few weeks later I received a bill for $127.49 directly from the electrician. I contacted the CPC employee I was working with and he acted like he did not know me. I emailed CPC and never received a response.
I was never given any estimate or even a warning that I would be charged. The charges seem excessive for the three minutes of work performed.
I was thinking about using CPC for additional work to the house, but based on their lack of response to the guarantee I would choose another contractor.
I don't understand why a company that does such good work otherwise would act in such an irresponsible manner and leave some work looking like pig slop.
