 + -1 moreThe online chat person kept me on hold for 45 minutes then offered to refund $20. The operator was cheerfully obstinate. The supervisor politely refused to do anything to resolve the situation.
Description of Work: I just learned that Century Link has been charging us $10/month for a modem, valued at $100, for 6 years. We bought a new modem 3 years ago when our old one crapped out because CL couldn't get one to us for more than a week and we need internet for our business. We sent theirs back but they didn't ever stop charging us. When I called to resolve it they said they couldn't stop the monthly rental charge and would never reimburse the charges. Needless to say, we are leaving them.

 + 1 moreI liked them pretty good until they raised my bill recently. I am a little bit unhappy about that. I have got to call and talk to them. It went to about $12 a month. I like the service but I am not happy with the sudden increase in price without information telling me exactly what is going on/why. When I call for technical help, I get all the help I need. I have been using them for over 40 years. It wasn't Century Link when I first got it for my house but I have used the company that started it and got bought out by somebody else. It has been the same company and I have never had to change anything.
Description of Work: I use Century Link. I get all my internet, landline telephone and TV services with Century Link.

 + -1 moreIt is satisfying for me because I don't download movies and all that kind of stuff. It is probably slower than most young people would like but, I am happy with it. I have had it with them ever since I started having a computer. I started with a different company before Century Link. I am happy with the internet service.

 + -1 moreI am very satisfied with the telephone part. If I have a problem, they usually come out right away. They respond very quickly. I will probably use them until I die.

 + 1 moreWe've had the same phone person for 16 years for our cell phone and the same home phone people. I haven't had to call them for anything because we've never had any issues. Everything is fine. We use the internet a lot and the TV service is fine. I don't think that they are bad but I do think there are companies that are a little bit better. We've just been with them for so long and we are fine with them and there's really no reason for us to change. Their internet service isn't the best as far as the bundles that they offer so I wouldn't recommend them for that and then the bundles for Direct TV, Direct TV has issues when it comes to weather.
