Dec 2013
Custom Colors Painting & Stucco was hired to repair stucco on the home by the previous owner. However, the repair was not completed before the owner moved out of town. We were told he would be there on a Friday to complete the repair. CCP&S did not show up. CCP&S did not call. Instead CCP&S showed up on the next day, Saturday, as we were trying to move into the home. We had many people helping us move in and many people going in and out all the doors. However, we rearranged vehicles in the drive way and to accommodate them. When they were done the subcontractor walked around the house with me and showed me what he had done. I asked him about a few other spots and he said he would take care of them. Since I was not involved in the original hire, I had no idea what was agreed upon. However, he didn't seem to mind at all taking care of them. The owner of the company never came out for a final inspection.
Within a few days of the subcontractor leaving, the repair under one of the doors began to crumble. I called the owner assuming that he would guarantee his work and come out and fix it. I did not get a return call.
I called a second time and did get the owner. I asked him to come and fix the repair. He refused to do it without me giving him more money. He said it was our fault because we didn't let it set long enough.
FIRST, we were given no instructions by either him or the subcontractor on being careful around the repairs, letting them set, or not using the door for a certain amount of time.
SECOND, he did not come when he said, coming instead unannounced in the middle of a busy move. He, being the professional and knowing the sensitivity of the work, should have right then decided to come back later.
I'm thoroughly disappointed that he refuses to fix the repair without more money since clearly he made many mistakes leading to the problem.
I finally made one last call asking for an address so that I could send him a formal letter and attempt to allow hm to do the right thing. He never returned this final call.
I would not recommend him to anyone nor would I ever hire his company do to the lack of professionalism, especially in how he placed all the blame on me, and the lack of guaranteeing their work.

Response from CCP Stucco & Paint Coatings.
"In response to this home owners comment who was not even our customer. We were hired to do some small stucco repairs by the original home owner who also scheduled us to do the work never even speaking to the person who has written this negative review. We were not able to perform the work on the scheduled Friday due to rain so rescheduled work with original owner for Saturday. I did this $400.00 job almost at cost to financially help the original home owner as they were selling the home and wanted to do this for the new owner. So not only did it not cost this person a penny they want us to come back and do a repair that there friends created during their move in. The repair did not crumble it was kicked and damaged by one of their movers. Now obviously this was an accident and I did offer to come back to do repairs for $75.00 but this person wanted everything for free. We also did additional repairs at no cost for the new owners that also seems to not be appreciated. It is the new home owners responsibility to let their moving friends know to be careful about the fresh stucco repairs. First complaint in 22 years of business. The owner, Jurgen Snyder (no relation), came in the highest of three bidders. However, his references were excellent and he took considerable time to listen to my wishes and describe the various options. He himself does the painting of soffets, fascias, and garage door. He contracts out the stucco work. However, he would check almost every day on the progress of the stucco workers and responded to my every request. His stated intention has been to make my 40 year-old house look new. In outward appearance it does indeed look virtually new. The added advantage of stucco for its insulating and fire resistant qualities have made it a valuable addition to my house. Afterward Snyder himself did the prep work and painting of my wrap-around deck railing and all window frames. My wife and I are very satisfied and would recommend Custom Colors Painting and Stucco.
