Mr George West acted as a General Contractor for a rehab project of ours in Manitou. He had an 85 day contract to finish the work that he started on 4/07/2017. In total George worked on our property for 5 or 6 weeks very leisurely then refused to show up to the site any longer. To this date (7/24/2017) he has completed about 25% of the contracted work, mostly demolition. What work he completed outside of demo later contractors have told me is unsafe and not to code. Improperly hung drywall, improperly laid sub-flooring, dangerous support beams, and we have discovered zero permits have been pulled. My new contractor tells me "the subflooring George used was 1/2 inch particle board which should only be used on roofs, he should have used 3/4 inch plywood. Any flooring we would have installed on this like tile would have broken due to this" 2) "The support beam George installed to support the roof is multiple 2x12 boards 12 foot long glued and nailed together but since they need to span over 14 feet he should have used 16 foot boards. This beam has a dangerous seem right through it that no structural engineer would ever approve to support the roof." All in all Mr West has stolen over $25000 from us and when questioned about it he threatened to sue me for libel and to put a lien against my property. RUN FAR FAR AWAY! I'm currently seeking a judgement against this individual.
