These guys are terrible. I would never hire them again. They caused a lot of damage to my property when they were here and several items were missing. When i pointed it out, they basically said, "so what?" Super rude, super bad attitude.

He arrived on time, explain the problem, treated the trees, gave me additional advise concerning my other trees. And the result is... my trees are happy, so I am!

It went great. They came in on the day they said they would. They evaluated what they had to do. They did the work. They cleaned up their mess. They disposed of all the old branches and cleaned up after themselves. It went fine. They do what they say they do. The guy is a certified arborist. I was concerned with that because these are fruit trees and they do produce fruits. They are punctual. They do exactly what they said they would do. He gave me a price and that's what the price was; it didn’t vary. He didn’t try to make any add-ons or throw any extras in. I'm going to probably call them back a little later here in the spring and have him spray the trees. I would absolutely use him again. The price was fair. I don’t know what a normal charge for something like that would be. They did a good job. In the past, I've had some trees taken out. I thought that they were a little high. They charged me more to take the tree out than he did to trim some.

Very well. A crew of 4 persons did the work in a couple of hours. Cleaned up properly. Seemed to know exactly what they were doing.

Great work and cleaned up the site. I got three estimates and he was the best price. Will have him work for us again.

Generally I was very satisfied with Bob Rundo Tree Surgeon. They worked their fannies off and I considered the cost as money well spent. The only area of dissatisfaction was that they left the stump grindings on my property rather than hauling them off.

I originally called Bob Rundo Tree Service in early November 2013 to arrange for trimming and tree removal. Albert told me to expect work to be done in early December. I was never called back or advised of delays. I called again in December and was told they had been delayed by weather, which I understand. Still no calls back from Albert about expected time for the work to be done. When we had a wind storm in mid January it blew over one of the groups of aspens I had wanted removed in November. I called Albert and told him that one of the groups he had promised to be gone by early December had now blown over and was lying on my deck roof, he was then able to get a crew out within a week.
I have never written a poor review for anyone I've used through Angie's list but Bob Rundo Tree Service was special. Every time I called, Albert had to drop my call to take another after he announced he was the only one in the office. I don't know if I just hit them at a time of severe understaffing or if this is normal. On the final phone conversation about the work he said he waould call back about the stump grinding. He has yet to call and it has been four months. I still need the work done but I'll choose someone else who I can expect to 1) come when they say they will or call and advise me they'll be delayed and 2) will call me back when they say they will. I had to keep calling this company to find out why work hadn't been scheduled as estimated. It would be a small thing to keep me advised but they didn't.

Response from Bob Rundo Tree Surgeon
"I am sorry for any delays in getting to the work that we had arranged to handle for you. This winter was filled with brutal weather to be working outdoors. When the temperature drops below 20 degrees we do not put our crews out in the cold. The poor weather lead to the long delay in accomplishing the work. In the winter our office staff is reduced to a skeleton crew in order to reduce operating expenses due to lower demand for our services. We did return all phone calls and always answer the phone during working hours."

The company came out within a week and gave us a very reasonable estimate for our work. It was another weeks until the work was done. However, as Colorado Springs had just been through a major wildfire and tree removal was at a premium, we did not consider the delay to be excessive.
The work was done efficiently and exactly as discussed. I was also impressed with how well the workmen cleaned up the area and removed all debris and evidence of the removed trees.
We were impressed with the quality and cost of the services provided and would use the company again.

Prior to trimming and cabling the elm tree the owner of Bob Rundo had come to the house to look at another tree that I was concerned about due to drought and potential damage done to the root system of the tree. The owner came out to assess the tree and seemed very knowledgeable and fair. He gave me a good assessment and lowest to highest price range options on how to handle the situation. He was candid in his assessment and didn't recommend the highest price option.
We also looked at some of the other trees in the yard, one being a large elm that sways impressively in the wind. I worry about that. The recommendation was to trim the tree later in the year (around November) and to cable the branches to improve the integrity of the trunk and large branches. The team was prompt and polite and did a good job trimming the tree.
The cabling is not too noticeable and so is aesthetically pleasing.
What I like best about Bob Rundo is the level of knowledge and the ability to make good, clear recommendations by providing the pros and cons of each option. They are a bit pricey, but I have had services performed at lower cost, which often, including in this case, comes out costing more in the long run. If the other providers had been as knowledgeable and articulate then the tree would have been properly trimmed in the first place and cabling wouldn't have been needed.
They are coming back soon to treat the elm for the elm beetle or some such invasion, and they are good at following up when they recommend a course of action and the ideal time (for tree health and optimal results) to complete the service.
So...I wouldn't recommend letting those darn Chinese elms grow in the yard, no matter how fast they grow or the shade. They are messy trees and the seedling sprout everywhere like weeds, which I hear it what the Chinese elm is. However, I would recommend Bob Rundo, preferably at the time you are selecting trees and their locations on your property.

We called for an estimate, they scheduled promptly, and came out on time. The back tree had a bark beetle and was completely dead. He (I believe Albert was his name) said the tree needed to come down and be hauled away for proper disposal so as to not allow other trees in the area to be infected. Albert said this should be done before the weather got warmer as when the weather is cold the beetles were not active and when warm weather were likely to search out more trees. They were booked out 1 month. We were surprised when we had a call maybe a week later that they had finished a job in our area and had time to come that day if we were agreeable. Albert and his crew came and worked quickly, safely and thoroughly to bring down the tree. They finished the cut down and removed the tree. They then removed the debris of needles and pinecones that had built up under the tree as well. We were very pleased with the speed of the removal as they had brought a large enough crew that worked well together. Everyone doing their part of the job so professionally.
Albert said the other tree was okay, that we had probably disturbed one of the large roots when we had installed a small retaining wall. He also advised that the tree was planted too close to a spruce. These trees are approximately 20 years old. He said that one of them would have to come out eventually as they were crowding each other. There was no pressure to do anything right away. When that time comes we will certainly call on this company.

Pretty well overall- large tree was brought down without issue. In pruning second tree, minor damage to patio cover resulted from a branch that was tossed down that caught the edge of the cover. I was considering reworking the cover so told the workers not to worry about it. They did offer to repair it.

1) Arrived about two hours before appointment time, i.e. before I got home.
2) Cut a branch but left it hanging.
3) Otherwise triming O.K.

Very prompt service, very professional. We didn't really know what to do with the leaning crab tree, he gave us the pros and cons of staking the tree, actually educated us why it was leaning so severe. So we were able to make an educated decision.
Very helpful and informative.
