The installer did not show up twice for appointments scheduled. I took two afternoons off without pay to have the garage door installed. Shame on me for giving them a second chance.

Excellent job, and very quick and works perfectly now. The service tech was happy to answer all my questions. I always use opportunities like this to learn.

Pros: Craig was very responsive to request for assistance. Or technician was very polite, punctual, and efficient. Cons: They do not stand behind their labor. Ankmar installed two garage doors in our home in 2013. The primarily used door was installed with extra bracing, but the secondary door was not. After a power outage, the trolley and door attachment on the secondary door (or the primary one either) did not align properly to reattach after door had to be opened manually. This caused the track to rip out of the wall due to stress of trolley/door not aligning properly. The same thing happened on primary door, but since it was braced, it did not rip out of the wall. Upon inspection, it was clear that one of two screws used was not installed in the header, but rather between the header and the 2x4 for wall above. This door is very rarely used so having it rip out of the wall after 3.5 years of very light use is unsatisfactory. When I called Ankmar, the office manger could not even find us in her system. Then, when technician came to do the repair, she would not allow any sort of discount on the work due to the poor installation and insisted it had "been too long." Their labor warranty is only for 60 days which is ridiculous.

This went really well. I would recommend them for garage door work.

They installed the garage doors on our new home and we had them add another opener.  They were quick and offered a great price.  They did forget the openers but returned to deliver them soon after.  Great experience.

I ran in to my previous door (I know... :-/ ) I called several different garage door companies, and Ankmar was the best priced and could do it within the week. They gave me several different options on a door and seemed very knowledgeable. The workers were very professional and extremely nice. Will definitely use them in the future if I happen to run into anymore doors. ;)

I came home last night to find I could not open my garage door. We discovered that a torsion spring had snapped. It wasn't an emergency, so I waited until the next day (today) to find a company to do the work.

I found that Ankmar was recommended and put in a service request in on their website, which got me $10 off. This was around 10:30 AM. I made the appointment for the afternoon (noon to 4 PM).

Travis, from Ankmar, called around 1:15 PM, saying he was about 15 minutes away. He arrived within the time frame promised (around 1:30 PM), which was only 3 hours after I made the on-line request for service. The work was finished in less than an hour.

The only problem (not a small one) was that I told the sales person that the reason that I wanted the new door openers was that one side had a newer opener and had the light beam which told me when the car was far enough into the garage that I could close the door without hitting the car. The other side had an older opener that did not have the light beam and was too old to add one. On this basis he recommended openers which were installed.

My first time to park in the garage the beam light was on which indicated from my old opener that the car was far enough in to shut the door. The door came down on my new 2011 Toyota taking the paint off of part of the trunk.
When I phoned them they said that the beam wasn't meant to read the car but only pets and small children so it was set at 6" high and that's not high enough to read the car. They said that was required by law and their company so nothing could be done. I told them that I told the sales person that the reason I wanted the new openers was to read the car. He should have told me then that the beam would not protect the car. When I called the sales person he said he would call back as soon as he checked on some things. He never called back. I paid to have the back of the car repainted.

The whole process took 30 mins or less. The tech was very professional, friendly and courteous and I would highly recommend Ankmar again. I later found that I could have purchased a replacement keypad online for much less money, but then my garage door would not have received the necessary service maintenance that was required, so cost of the service call and the added cost of the keypad in my opinion was worth the money spent for the extra level of service provided.

We were very impressed with the initial installation, and the tune up seemed to make the doors work just like new. The tech was finished in half an hour or so, adjusting 2 garage doors back to new condition.
