American Burglary Protection, LLC

After a rash of burglaries in my neighborhood I decided to get a home security system. After doing some research I decided to go with ADT. The services and equipment was far superior than their competitors. I contacted ADT directly and felt they were over charging me on the monthly statement, equipment, and installation fee. A friend recommended I check with one of their authorized dealers, American Burglary Protection, to be specific. She explained to me that as an authorized dealer they were able to offer her the same services and equipment as the big company but at a much lower rate. I took her advise and was blown away. Every single person I encountered was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Mat was the sales representative they sent to my home. I've dealt with other salesmen from other companies and they've all made me feel pressured to buy their product or service. That was not the case with Mat. He was so professional and I got the feeling that more than wanting me to buy anything, he wanted me to feel that my home and family were secure. He answered all of my questions and was able to help me find just the right package for my needs and budget. He presented me the information on American Burglary and Protection's services and equipment as compared to their competitors. One of my favorite is the Ring Doorbell. One multiple occasions I have been away from my home and had someone ring my doorbell. Not only have I been able to see them but I have also been able to talk to them! Another feature of the ring doorbell that I love is the ability to see the live view of my doorstep from my phone no matter where I am as long as I have service or wifi. As soon as I could free up my schedule they were able to send out a technician, Ross. My experience with the tech was no different than my experience with Mat. Amazingly professional and he really took the time to figure out the best places for the equipment itself and to ensure I felt comfortable using the keypad after he left. He didn't leave a mess and was just wonderful. About a month after I had my security system installed I began to hear of a lot of dogs that had gotten stolen from homes in my neighborhood. I have a dog who matched the characteristics of the dogs being targeted. When the weather is nice I leave my dog in my back yard when I am not home. To help monitor her safety I decided to get a camera in my back yard. As soon as I called American Burglary Protection sent out another technician, Mark. Again, professional, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. Seems to be a trend for people employed by this company. Just like my Ring Doorbell, I can view a live feed of my camera from my phone and computer at any time. I can't say enough good things about American Burglary Protection. I am so glad I chose them. Other companies offered me cheaper services and equipment but both were substandard and not as reliable as what I got from ABP.

The sales rep professional and extremely knowledgeable of the system. He was easily able to compare and explain the differences between the ADT system and my current system. Bases on the sales rep information, we decided to upgrade. The technician clearly understood what we were looking for in a system. He updated the existing equipment to reduce the visual impact within the home. We explained what areas we wanted covered my cameras. Not only did he locate the cameras in the best places, he ensured the structural impact was kept to a minimum. Where drilling into the home was required, it was done in areas with the least impact and all entrances were sealed. The technician took his time to explain the operation of the system and patiently answered all of our questions. The install took a bit longer than anticipated. However, the technician never displayed any frustration or impatient. Both the sales rep and technician were true professionals. I so appreciate the work and would recommend the company to anyone looking to upgrade or install a new security system.

Fantastic! Company owner came to do the security review. The installer gave us thorough information on how to use our system and ALL its features. Install was professional and seamless looking.

The day after I posted a negative review of American Burglary Protection the owner of the company contacted us. He was extremely concerned about our situation.  We had decided to cancel our contract with ADT because we had been unable to arm our alarm system when we installed air conditioning units in our windows over the summer.  We felt there was no need to pay
for a monthly alarm system we couldn?t even use.  After contacting ADT we found out that we had been misinformed about ADT?s early termination policy when we set up an account with American Burglary Protection.  The owner assured us that he cares very deeply about his customers and was particularly distressed that we felt that we were wronged by his company.  He explained that we could still arm the system with air conditioning units installed.  After discussing options to cancel our contract with ADT and American Burglary Protection we have decided to remain his customers.  Honestly, I have never had a company care so much about our business and satisfaction with its products.   We now feel that, even though we were misinformed about ADT?s early termination policy, one employee?s misrepresentation of facts should not reflect badly on the entire company.  



(original post) We had a territory manager come to our home in March of 2014 to sell us an ADT system. When I asked him if we could get out of the three year contract if we wanted to he told us we could but we would have to pay an early termination fee. I asked him how much that was and he told me it would be about $390 dollars. We didn't feel that $390 dollars was an excessive fee to cancel a contract so we signed up. Since I have not even used the alarm since April I called ADT to cancel my contract and was told I would have to pay around $1100! On the back of page 2 in small grey letters it is explained that if we terminate early we will be required to pay 75% of the remaining payments. I advise anyone who wants to buy an alarm system to stay away from this company because they are willing to tell you any lie necessary to get you into a contract. Many states have filed class action suites against ADT because of the fact that their early termination fees are ridiculously high and violate some states consumer protection acts. Unfortunately, Colorado's consumer protection act is not as strong as other states and we have no choice but to keep making out payments. After reading the contract further I found that American Burglary has the right to raise the monthly fee's after 1 year and I sure wasn't told that when we signed up.

We initially had some coordination/communication issues in arranging the service request.  Because of this, the owner, Vaso Bjegovich, Jr., personally came with the service technician to assure the work was completed and we were satisfied with the outcome of the service call. 

The work was quickly completed and time was spent with us making sure we understood the camera options available to us.  We were also told they would be able to support any questions we had about the system in the future. 

Thank you Vaso (and Pam) for helping us resolve a home security problem in such a timely fashion and with professionalism.  Anyone considering a home security system should give American Burglary Protection an opportunity to provide the same quality customer service that  we received.

The security consultant was so professional. Spent 3 hours answering all of our questions. The tech was even more amazing. When I needed a service call they responded immediately and was free. Highly recommend.

ABP was great they were super friendly Vaso my security consultant was great! He took a lot of time with my family and I, he allowed us to ask a lot of questions without rushing us, Vaso heard out our concerns and helped up build and design a system that worked best for our needs. He stayed within our budget. We got a great product, great servicer and are happy with our experience. If at any time I have question I call the office, the Ladies that work in there are great super helpful and friendly. If they can?t help they point me in the direction I need to go. The installer that did out install was so nice and very knowledgeable. I am always recommending American Burglary Protection to friends and family.

Previous to this experience it was a excellent installation and we are happy with the system hardware. We did have a problem with the finance part of the company that caused many administrative billing blunders. We are paid in full on this service as of Mar 2013, but mistakenly the company billed us in April and twice in May 2013. The owner gladly returned our money when we brought it to his attention, with compensation. Excellent system knowledge and installation but I would recommend paying them all upon completion.
