"Thanks for the review [Member Name Removed]! Was nice to meet you and the family, we're happy to know we got you taken care of!"

"Thanks for the review [Member Name Removed], we appreciate your time, and business!"
"[Member Name Removed], it is of course unfortunate that you have this opinion of us, but there are facts that need to be straightened out. February 28th of this year, you brought your car in for an oil change and service, at which point we discussed that your vehicle had significant oil leaks coming from the front timing cover area and that it should be addressed. It was at this time when you stated that you knew the vehicle had these leaks and that you were planning on replacing the car because you needed to put oil in it between services. We discussed that these particular Subaru engines have a long list of technical service bulletins and warranty replacement programs due to large amounts of oil consumption. That same day, we let you know that we buy and sell used vehicles, and that if you were in the market, we would be happy to show you what we had for sale. Again, this was all back in February. Jump forward to May 15th this year, you brought the car in for a lube oil and filter service and to change a pair of headlight bulbs. We changed the oil, with fill capacity of 5.5 quarts of 0w20 full synthetic oil. Afterward, you drove the vehicle over 500 miles throughout the week, during which you stated that the oil light never once came on. It is important to note that if there was no oil put in the engine during the last service, the oil light would have immediately come on before you even left the parking lot, and furthermore, the engine would have made a lot of noise before leaving. There is absolutely no possibility for your vehicle to have left our shop without oil in it. That being said however, we submitted a claim to our insurance to ensure that if we were at fault, we would be able to help get you taken care of, which is something we are more than happy to do when or if a mistake is made. The insurance company hired a private 3rd party inspector who determined that your car had a history of excessive long term oil consumption, and that we are not liable for the claim. We are truly sorry for your inconvenience."
1. Less than 2 weeks ago, I bought a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. I've been looking for 3 years for a decent used Pathfinder. I knew even with consistent up-keep and care it would require repairs, any used 14 year old 4x4 with 145,000 miles would need repairs.
2. Prior to purchase, I took the vehicle to a very large Toyota dealership for a QUICK "Report Card check-up." I wanted to ensure I wasn't buying a vehicle that was ready to blow an engine. The Toyota mechanic found a few things I already knew it needed: NEW tires, new shocks, new brakes. Then he told me it needed a NEW "Oil-Cooler" with all the housing, tubes, and wires. Toyota's price: $805.00.
Wow I said, "I've owned a lot of 4x4 vehicles: 2 Pathfinders, 4 jeeps, and 1 F-150. I've NEVER heard of an "oil-cooler." I paid the Toyota dealership for their "Report Card." I came home and checked YouTube for "Nissan leaking oil-cooler."
3. YouTube has a LOT guys showing folks where the oil-cooler leaks, why it leaks, and how easy it is to change the leaking parts.
4. I bought the vehicle. Next, I took it to a Nissan dealership.
5. There is an "open recall" for the vehicle. Only a dealership can repair a "recall." Off I went to Nissan. They checked out the entire 4x4. I did NOT tell them I took it to Toyota for the "pre-sale" check. Nissan provided a "report card" and told me about the "oil-cooler leak." Nissan said, "IF the entire cooler and housing needed to be changed, their price for "original equipment part" and labor was $440."Almost half price from Toyota but Still a lot of money compared to the guys who changed it in their garage in less than 30 minutes. There was so much oil gummed and leaking that Nissan couldn't tell where the problem originated. I was BUMMED! I went home.
At home I searched A.L. for a PLUMBER to fix a different leaking item, a kitchen faucet. While glancing at the DB, I saw that A.L. had Auto Repair listings. I DID NOT KNOW THAT!
6. I sorted the DB, and found Accurate Japanese Repair Inc. I READ ALL the RATINGS! I ALWAYS start with the lowest ratings within the last year first. I called and spoke with Bradley for a few minutes. He said they wouldn't charge me to look at the vehicle.
7. I arrived 8:00 am the next day. Paul greeted me as I walk through the door. Bradley introduced himself as he hoisted the Pathfinder. He showed me the oil-cooler. Paul pulled the mechanical diagram on his PC. Apparently "MY" OIL-COOLER is more complicated than usual. Of course---right?
The ISSUE>>> a 4" bolt with less than 1/4" space to pull it out. If Bradley couldn't remove the bolt because of limited space, he would be forced to remove ALL the wiring and everything else to remove the oil-cooler.
8. Bradley drained the oil first. Then he tackled the oil-cooler issue. Not ONLY did he remove that 4" bolt in a tight space, in a few minutes, BUT he sprayed a powerful degreaser and CLEANED THE OLD OIL GUNK that had accumulated on and around the oil-cooler! He cleaned it twice! I told Paul I was impressed that Bradley cleaned it at all!
9. I don't know about the future, no one does. BUT I saw a team of guys who have worked together long enough to know how the others move. Paul and Bradley have a sense of humor. Paul had a few minutes to chat about other things than just the oil leak.
10. I WILL return to them for future repairs. I WILL call them to check on prices for FUTURE services. For this repair, AT MY REQUEST, they used original Nissan parts. The YouTube demos. talked about cheaper AFTER MARKET gaskets and O-rings. Most times those cheaper parts do NOT fit correctly. That can create future problems. I told Paul about my experience with mechanics: In my previous vehicles, when I could, I changed the oil and oil filter, gapped and replaced spark plugs, replaced several new distributor caps, replaced air filters, fuel filters, windshield wipers, and in a pinch at 11,000 ft. made a "clutch spring" out of bailing wire after the old spring broke. It worked good enough to get me down the mountain. Paul explained They prefer to use parts manufactured by a company that are as good as the original part and often times better, but people don't always understand that cheaper ones just don't fit or work correctly."
Finally, I love to drive. It is NOT a Right, but a privilege, in this country and Colorado. I believe my cars and I have a friendly relationship, and if I treat my vehicle like I treat the people and pets I love in my life, they will treat me with a safe ride, deliver me to beautiful destinations, and return me home safe and sound.
OH BTW---WHEN I RETURNED HOME, I PLACED NEW CARDBOARD ON THE GARAGE FLOOR TO CHECK FOR ANY OIL LEAKS. THIS MORNING WHEN I CHECKED, THE CARDBOARD IS COMPLETELY CLEAN!!
GOOD JOB BRADLEY!! THANK YOU!
"{Member's name}, Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing, it helps us immensely to know what we are doing right, AND especially to know what/when we are doing wrong in order to remedy and adapt. It was a pleasure to chat with you, and we greatly appreciate your business. Thanks Again for the encouraging words, Bradley, Accurate Japanese Repair."
"{member name removed}, we regret to hear that you are dissatisfied with the service you received, and are disappointed with the parts that were used in your repair. It is an unfortunate reality in the business of aftermarket parts, that there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution. When we agreed to using the aftermarket part, we explained exactly that. Sometimes, aftermarket parts just do not fit, as was the case with the first core we tried, it was made too thick to fit where it needed to. We searched extensively in effort to find a more cost-effective part. Unfortunately Toyota offered the only solution to the problem, which is a not uncommon reality; their heater core fit, where no others would. We would be more than happy to discuss this matter with you if you have any further questions, thank you for your time and consideration. Accurate Japanese Repair. 719-634-1000"
My husband recently purchased a 2002 Nissan Frontier that he really liked however, when I first drove the vehicle, I hated it. There were some concerns I had that I felt needed to be addressed, like the annoying knocking sound coming from somewhere, the truck kept pulling to the right and I was not comfortable with the breaks. So, while my husband was buying new tires for the truck, I was searching Angie?s List for a reputable auto repair shop and found Accurate Japanese Repair Inc. I was so impressed by the reviews that I drove to the shop early the next morning and spoke to Paul about my concerns. Well, he not only took care of the issues I was having with this truck but also found that the ?fan clutch? needed to be changed before the hot weather sets in. Although the part was not in stock at the time, Paul called me that evening to say that he was able to get the part right here in Colorado so I brought the truck in early the next morning and was out within the hour. Paul and his crew were very professional and did an excellent job and now I don't hate the truck but feel much more comfortable driving it because of the work that was done at Accurate Japanese Repair Inc. Thank you!
