He took several hours to fix two toilets. He has been angry and abrasive the last two times that I have been in contact with him. I always paid him $50.00 in cash for each hour that he worked except for the last three times but we did setup a payment plan. I never want to work with him again. I do not want to see him again. He straight out lied to me and he tried to make me a liar. The last two times he has been here he was not the same person that I have dealt with in the past. I asked if I could go to the store with him to get rugs from the store and while I was changing my clothes he was stealing from me. He ripped me off royally. He stole stuff out of my garage. He stole 2 generators and 3 boxes of towels and animal print blankets. He also stole my ladder as well as an air fryer. I had a very expensive umbrella that was still in the package for the backyard and he stole it as well. It is awful that he would do this.

"This is her response to me asking her to pay me before I was willing to do any more work. This review is blatantly untrue. Many more things can be said in defense but I expect people can look at the rest of the reviews 1 Peter 2:12 12 Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation."

It was absolutely terrific. He was extremely honest. He was on time. If he's gonna be late, he always lets you know. He's meticulous in his work. He does excellent cleanup. He is a fast worker. I have recommended him to seven neighbors. He's very particular in his work. He can do everything. I am very pleased with him. His price was fair.

They painted outside our house not all over it, but the gables and then we heading back to insulate piping in our house and actual installation and heading back to replace the outside faucets. I would definitely use them.

Darren was on time, went into the crawlspace to access the needed parts, left to purchase them, came back and replaced both sill-c**** - all within about 3 hours' time. We are very glad to have found Darren to do the various household repair items that need to be done and will call him again for future needs, as his quality of work meets my husband's high standards.

Since there were a lot of minor items, we agreed that it would be best to have a hourly rate plus materials. I am very happy with all of the work. My husband was away from the house during some of the repair work and was unable to tell the new wall from the old wall behind the dryer, so he was equally happy with the repairs.
Darren was always quite pleasant and always seemed to go that extra step. For example, when he moved the spigot, he replaced the aluminum siding panel instead of just patching the hole. Since the aluminum siding had been discontinued, he provided a near match and color matched paint to the existing siding. He wanted me to rate him less then and quot;Aand quot; so that other people (future customers) wouldn't be suspicious of the ratings... I can't do that. He deserves the and quot;A'sand quot; as he is very good at his work.

Darren gave us a written quote when we were requesting quotes for the crawl space insulation. It was very professional so I had a good first impression. We gave Darren the job and, again, we were very impressed. He worked around our schedule and worked diligently while here. When we decided to have the gables painted, we immediately thought of Darren. We were flexible in our schedule and he was busy, so we worked around his other jobs and the weather, which was not cooperating. But the project was still done within a 1 to 2 week period of time, with the actual painting only taking 3 days. Both projects were done in an excellent manner.

Darren gaves us a good estimate of the work we needed done. He did an excellent job of painting and installing our doors. They are beautiful. We are planning on having him do more work in the future on our deck. We highly recommend him. He does wonderful work.

After giving me a quote, he called to say he had forgotten that I had two coolers, so the estimate would be higher, around $150, not including material. I was concerned at the price, but he insisted that the one cooler would need anti-rust treatment. I still thought $150, or so, plus cost of pads, was high for two coolers, but agreed to pay on an actual time and cost basis. He subsequently submitted a bill for $388.03, including 7.5 hours at $45 per hour for a total of $388, and the cost of a pump. $45 is well above what anyone in this valley charges for cooler work. 7.5 hours is more than was needed to entirely re-build one of the computers several years ago. Not even the most meticulous certified plumber could manage to spend so much time on this job, unless charging for lunch time! Mr. Cook seems to do decent work, but his charges are outrageous. Anyone needing a handyman should look elsewhere. Many are available at a reasonable price. Anyone needing a plumber should go to someone who is certified. The cost will be lower.
Response from Darren S Cook
"Last fall when I winterized the cooler (only one I bid on above) I told the member that the pan was about rusted through and would require a lot of work. It is true the member didn’t like my bid and He suggested that I bill him for time and materials and to do the other cooler. This is what I did this Spring: Scraped pan Wire brushed pan (on end of drill) Vacuumed out pan and Coated pan with tar (painted on) reinforcing the joints with fiber mesh Replaced pads in cooler Oiled bearing in cooler Allowed time for tar to cure (minimum of 24Hours) Serviced other cooler mentioned above: oiling bearings, changing pads, hooking up the water supply (I had to repair/replace compression fitting) and confirm all worked and didn't leak. Returned to job after tar was allowed time to cure Hooked up water supply only to find out that he had disconnected a union in his attic causing a water mess to clean up. Clean up water mess. Cleaned out water diffuser (it was clogged) the water pump was too weak to pump sufficient amount of water. I called the member and told him I would replace it for him if he wanted to pay extra for it. He said to do so. Return to job 2nd time to replace pump Pump is "hard wired" in not a plug in Replace pump The time didn't include the time it took to get the materials OH, by the way this cooler is on the second story on a 12/12 pitch roof. I think $388.03 is very reasonable."

This guy is very versatile and fast. Gives accurate estimates and does plumbing and electrical as well as wood working. Very smart and honest. Remodeled my bath and did all the work by himself.
