Scottish Window Tinting

We hired them to tint a wall of windows in our kitchen at our old house and immediately called them to tint the sliding glass doors and large windows in our new house. They have several levels of tint to choose from, so you don't have to go too dark while still protecting interior wood from the sun. Professional and easy to work with -- I highly recommend them.

We used the Angie's List coupon for window tinting services. Sales representative arrived on time as promised, Measured almost the entire house, gave us a firm price, answered all questions, and was responsive to all follow-up questions. We scheduled the project two weeks after the call, but was offered a earlier date which we accepted. Although we changed our scope of work twice, they were courteous and responsive. Installation occurred on time and the installer was professional, good communicator, and efficient. After two weeks we are pleased with the results and are planning to have them complete the West side of our home.

It was good. They did a nice job. There was an additional cost beyond the big deal amount. The total cost of the service was $400.

We used them through a big deal on Angie's List. It was good. We spent more than what we purchased the big deal for because we wanted a couple of more windows done when they were. They did it when they were here. The big deal was for $270. They were great. The person that put the film on was very friendly and quick. We were happy with the service. We feel that it was a little higher on price for the product that we got. It was money well spent to hopefully save money later. With regard to price, I didn’t do a lot of price comparison, so it's hard to say.

The quality of the product is very good.  The salesman was quick in contacting and showed up early.  He was pleasant and professional and we took care of the quote and purchase quickly.  My only complaint is that in his measurements he rounded off quite a bit in their favor.  The Angie's list deal was pretty good but their usual prices seem a bit high.  The installer was on time, was very professional and polite, finished quickly and he did a great job.  We chose the darkest tint and are very happy with the results.  The tint made a very noticeable difference in the room temps where we had it installed.

Overall I did not think this was worth it. The reviews were fabulous about there customer service but I did not have that experience. I thought the responsiveness was OK in the beginning but once the service was performed the follow up did not happen until I called 2 times. No one ever ended up coming out to check on the tinting as promised and I dont think that the tinting did a lot to improve the temperature of our rooms. For $400 (which was due to $160 of additional cost outside of the deal I purchased) I do not think it was worth it. They said I would see dramatic improvement in the room temperature and we do not but the part that is frustrating is that we did not get the follow up on the service we paid for.

I realized that the darker tint that I had purchased was just too dark for me. They came out immediately to remove the film and install a lighter tint at no charge. I am very pleased with the film now and would certainly recommend this company.

We purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out fine. They were very pleasant, and they did a good job. We didn't have any trouble with them at all.

It went great. The estimate went smoothly and there was no pressure to buy anything extra. I used a big deal and paid extra for a few more windows. The service installation call was prompt and went as expected and planned.
I would definitely recommend Scottish Window Tinting and will be using them in the near future for some additional windows on the upstairs of our house.

I wish the service would cost a bit less.  We have a lot of windows, so the square footage of windows covered in the deal was not even close to the number of windows we have, so there was quite a bit extra that we added on at the higher cost. 

The manager, Michael, promptly made an appointment to give us an estimate and show samples of the window films his firm likes to use.  He was very knowledgeable about his products and suggested solutions to a couple of window problems we had.  Scottish also sells and installs windows, so he knew about the kinds of problems sometimes presented by different kinds of window glass. He gave us the estimate during our meeting - it was very fair and comparable to other companies we have used previously.  The appointment for the film application was scheduled within a very few days; the installer was very prompt and neat in his work habits, and was on his way after a little over 2 hours, taking all the trash with him.  Very pleased with this company.

Everything was installed as discussed.  There have been no problems with the material or workmanship.  I was thoroughly pleased with the install and the product and hope to be a repeat customer for stained glass install/repair.

This is a terrific company.  They are efficient, knowledgeable and guarantee their work.  The window film does not really change the outward appearance so those people with a picky HOA will be okay.  Adding the film to these windows dramatically reduced the temperature of the rooms since I had it installed.

Tinting turned out great and technician was very accommodating as we previewed two different tents.  Windows look great and our living room is cooler!

We've actually used Scottish Window Tinting before, they came in and put their tinting on all of our hard to reach windows in our living room.  They were an amazing company to work with, extremely professional, knowledgeable, willing to answer any questions, kind and courteous. That said when we saw the Angie's List deal we knew we HAD to do it.  This time we had the bottom sets of the windows done in the living room (3 total), skipping the north facing windows, two small windows in the dining room, and all the windows in a bedroom that is always hot. 
After we had the top set done we could instantly tell a huge difference in heat in our living room since our home has a two story living room area and the top windows have no blinds or coverings.  While our lower windows have blinds we could still tell a big difference and we are able to keep them open and let in all that beautiful natural light without having tons of heat pour in as well. 
We went with the 70% reduction (the highest and the darkest film) Honestly you can only tell they are tinted in the evenings because they are a little reflective so I'd recommend going with the darkest film to cut the most heat and see the most difference. It sounds a bit scary and it looks dark but once its on the windows its hardly noticeable even when next to others that aren't tinted.  The difference in the hot bedroom is dramatic, we never opened the wood blinds but the heat would still come in and be trapped between the window and the blinds.  That room has two small west facing windows and one larger 4-pane south facing window. 
When I bought the Angie's List Deal I didn't expect Scottish Window Tinting to contact me the next day and get something scheduled asap that was exciting! They came out and measured our windows (we already knew we wanted the matching film) they worked with me to get everything we wanted done within our budget.  I had them measure a bunch of different windows and then we ended up taking the north facing ones out of the quote.  We also had them give us a quote for the sliding glass patio door which we will do at a later date. We ended up purchasing more than the deal was for and that was charged at $9 a square foot (which is cheaper than their regular pricing) All in all it was a great deal and again everyone from the sales guys to the installers were super professional, courteous, kind and amazing to work with.  In our bedroom we had lots of furniture they had to work around / climb on because we couldn't move the bed anywhere and they were really sweet about it and took extra care with the furniture.  We recommend them to our friends and family all the time because they are a really great company and take care of their clients.  
We can't wait to have them do more windows and the sliding door in the future so if you are on the fence just do it, you'll be glad you did!
