"Our estimate was very clear that it was for one coat of Paint on the banisters. Homeowner wanted Multiple coats and we told her that It was going to be extra before we moved forward. She in addition wanted a custom color which we provided. She told us she was very happy with the work. Homeowner wanted us to re-use materials on an entertainment center and then paint. We explained that if we re-used their would be holes showing and we should use new materials. She agreed. She asked us to continue with the extra work and agreed to pay for it. We worked very hard to keep this within the estimated price however we specifically said estimate was for 1 coat of prime and paint and we had 3 coats that the homeowner agreed to pay extra time and materials for. Estimate is included."
"Thank you"
"Thank you! We appreciate the feedback."
"Thanks for your nice review, your right about the communication issue, the guys were not checking into the office, we have since reviewed that and taken care of the issue. Thank you you were a pleasure to work with"
"We received a call for an estimate to run a dedicated electrical line and member was in a hurry to get the work done. We sent out a subcontractor who we have worked with many times he told him Time and Materials and wrote it up the estimate, We did the work and member paid the estimated price. The actual Time it took was higher than the estimate but we stood by the estimated price and reduced the invoice. Our subcontractor reduced his hours. The price to run a dedicated electrical line was much lower than any other contractor in the area. After the job was completed Member said we could have gotten a better price on materials if we would not have purchased a whole roll of wire. He demanded a refund of $200.00 on the wire. We send him price comparisons showing the price difference from the store we got the materials from. the difference would have been much higher if we would have purchased the wire per wire price. Our price was $1000.00 for Labor and Materials. He agreed to the price and paid the price quoted and then demanded a refund when he thought we charged too much. Our sub contractor contacted him as did we. He was very happy with the work and thought it was done very well, he agreed to the price and paid the price and when we wouldn’t reduce the price any further after we proved to him we had saved him money he sent this review. We have all the backup and will be happy to discuss"
"The member is the best kind of person to work for and understands the industry. He gets an A."
"We truly enjoy working with this Angie's List client and we are going to be starting a new project next week. We aim to Please and will be happy to do so this time around as well"
"Our coupons are to be presented at time work is done. We did give the discount and we came back at no charge the next day with materials. Thanks for your business"
The issue was with billing. I recieved a rough estimate from Mary for the work to be done. I requested an itemized estimate so I knew specifically what i was billed for and for what charges. Mary got upset with me when I asked for an itemized bill. I couldn't perform the work for a month later so Mary revised the estimate and tacked on additional man hours. When I asked what the additional charges were for she was rude with me about it stating that materials & man hours went up. I asked specifically what went up and Mary got ticked for me asking. I still contracted with them to move the door.
The guys were great however... i specifically stated to Rob I wanted a wall piece he was removing for another project. He never stated the piece wouldn't work for another project and he removed the piece from my property without permission. Rob proceeded to put that piece in the dumpster and charged me $25 dump fees. I noted to Mary, that for one I didn't agree to any dump fees on the estimate and two I wanted that piece of material. Mary argued with me stating the dump fee was in the estimate - THANKFULLY i got a itemized estimate which did NOT have an estimate for any dump fee on there. Mary eventually took the dump charge off.
Mary sent me THREE invoices with one fee then a FOURTH invoice with a larger fee stating they didn't realize they forgot materials. When I got the fouth invoice with higher amount owed, I asked for copies of the material bills from Home Depot since Mary stated that they charge "Actual Charges" for materials. Mary could not produce the bills for the materials from HOme Depot, only a hand written "bill" - one from the guy that picked up the materials at home depot and a second from a worker guy that DID NOT PURCHASE ANY MATERIALS! I felt like Mary was retaliating and adding additional fees because of the reducation in dump fees and me questioning the man hours that I was charged. I paid the additional fees as it was listed but be CAUTIOUS! ASK for an itemized estimate with EVERYTHING on it and an itemized Invoice with everything on it so you know exactly what you are paying for.
I will never use them again because of them up charging for the work. Mary tried to say "we didn't charge you for the estimate and we completed the work early - you could pay the estimated charges" well for one - you can't bill for work you didn't perform - If you weren't there for 12 hours you can't bill me for 12 hours of work! And Mary advertised FREE ESTIMATES so of course she can't charge me for an estimate.
Also the company advertises a 5% Angies List discount off the $50 labor however the final bill NEVER reflected the discount.
"We remain utterly confused by this report as we’ve done other work for this member on multiple occasions and they’ve been very pleased. Even after this job she told our workers she was satisfied when they left, especially when the job came in at $200 below the estimated price that she has signed and agreed to and paid 1/2 down on. She wanted one side of the door trimmed out & the side with the brick molding left without trim. The pictures the member posted are either a different door that we did not work on or the work we did has been changed or tampered with as this is not how we left the job and are happy to provide pictures if asked. We agree there are 3 sides to every story however many of her comments in the review are severely exaggerated if not completely untrue. We repeatedly offered to return at no cost to please this member as we enjoyed working for her before. She would not give a clear response as to what she wanted us to do. We regret our relationship ended this way as we actually like repeat business and strive for 100% customer satisfaction. We expressed to her and were more than willing to go out of our way to fix whatever she felt went wrong. Unfortunately, after multiple failed attempts to figure out what we could do to fix this member’s experience, we simply have to move on. We are happy to answer any questions regarding this member’s report but encourage you to look to our other A-rated reviews for a more accurate representation of what it’s like to work with us."
