A+++! First, let me say, it WAS easier for him to do this job in particular, as we were NOT living in the home at the time. I have no doubt had we been living in the house, my report would be exactly the same. He kept us in the loop with a constant stream of updates, cheerfully and promptly returned calls and emails, and answered all silly questions with courtesy, patience, and professionalism. He dealt with the neighbors courteously and responsibly, and they all reported his work was tidy, quiet, and not a bother to them. The work was done promptly, under budget, and with an attention to detail that rivals and surpasses my own -- and I have remodeled 6 other homes myself, including a classic Denver Square on Capitol Hill in the early 1970s. Brian had the work all completed on schedule and looking fabulous. He helped stage the home for sale, and helped present it. In fact, we had interested buyers knocking on the door to speak with Brian before the job was finished! I only wish I had been able to live in the house myself after he rehabbed it! I absolutely believe *Brian's work* SOLD the house at a time the market was crashing hard. I also believe the return on my investment to be 100%. Despite the market, I sold at the price I had hoped for, with the update. I could not have done this without him! He saved my neck. I would hire Brian to design and build the 10,000 square foot home of my dreams, the supreme Man Cave, or a new powder room in an instant. He can handle any and all of those jobs with ease. His ideas are sound, his experience as an architect invaluable, his design sense appropriate to the client and their needs, and his budget awareness keen. His concern is the owner, not the abstracts of the job. He will do an excellent job for YOU, exceeding your expectations.
Description of Work: I have known and worked with Brian personally and professionally since at least 1995. In the winter of 2007, my family and I decided to relocate out of state. I contacted Brian and asked him to undertake a MAJOR remodel and updating of my home to sell it. I worked with Brian LONG DISTANCE to complete this project! We had originally planned an addition and almost total overhaul, but due to market conditions, we had to scale back. Brian took my ideas, added several brilliant ones of his own, and came up with a great plan, a set of beautiful architectural drawings, projected budget, and timetable. He handled the management of the whole project, and did much of the labor himself. Included were a total remodel of the kitchen from the studs out. Floors, appliances, cabinets, fixtures, and lighting all redone. The main bath was also redone; new tub, shower, tile, floor, cabinets, fixtures, etc. The entire house got new paint, trim, carpet, cleaned, updated, loved, and polished. Her personally fixed a small problem on the roof. He touched up landscaping, the curb appeal, and the look of the entire .75 acre property. Brian handled all the permits and irritating paperwork, as well as dealing with the utilities, and so on.

The job was to take10 weeks. Brian was able to complete his work within 8 weeks. He provided subcontractors that were all prompt, hard working and all provided excellent craftmanship and quality of work. Brian has a very high standard with attention to detail and expects the same for all that work for him. He would communicate with me almost daily to keep me informed of what the schedule was and what was needed from me. He answered the phone or returned my call very promptly. I was very comfortable with him and with all of his suggestions/ideas as the project continued. The Kitchen is fabulous and in the end I was so pleased to realize that all of the subcontractor costs were all within $100 of the original estimates provided by Brian. I did however make the mistake of involving an individual unknown to Brian for the cabinet order and will regret that decision forever! I am still waiting for cabinet delivery and finishing pieces. That individual does not even bother to return a call or keep us informed of the order or expected arrival date, but that is a story for later. I would recommend that you use those contractors that Brian recommends. All of his work and that of his subcontractors work was top quality, and to perfection. Not only do I highly recommend Brian Hutson to everyone, I will hire him again and again.
Description of Work: Brian Hutson was the construction manager for our kitchen remodel. He provided us with thorough design ideas with our style, wants, needs and budget in mind. He spent countless hours before the project even started on the design and planning. We hired Brian to design and oversee the overall management of the remodel and to provide some of the work on the project. Brian hired, scheduled and supervised all of the subcontractors necessary for the jobs including electricians plumbers, etc. He gave written estimates of the work necessary prior to starting the entire remodel. He was knowlegeable, honest, prompt, reliable, considerate, and flexible. Our kitchen remodel included knocking down walls, removing a pantry, moving the laundry room, pantry, extending hardwood flooring from the kitchen to the dining room, removing and replacing all cabinets, removing and replacing all appliances, removing skylights and replacing roofing, replacing windows, installing backsplash, countertops, shelving, doors and the list goes on. The job was to take 10 weeks. All of the subcontractors worked very hard and meticulous for Brian. I was happy with the job done by everyone he hired. The kitchen remodel ended up taking 8 weeks for the work Brian was responsible for. I have never experienced such a diligent, honest, meticulous individual and one so proud of his work.
