The whole experience was absolutely fabulous. On the day of our inspection, Charlie arrived early and was ready to go as soon as we had access to the house. He had been in touch with the homeowners (who were living there) and dropped off and set up the radon testing equipment a couple of days before, so the results were ready when we arrived. He sat down with me and my Realtor to explain everything he was going to do, what the inspection included, what it didn't cover - everything. He was very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions. Once he started the inspection, he was OK with me following him around and asking questions, or not - no pressure either way. Truly, Charlie's a whirlwind of efficiency and multi-tasking. Watching him work was just amazing. He was all over the place, checking out the roof, the attic, the crawlspace off the basement, all of the living areas, house systems and appliances, he even discovered the sewer clean-out the sewer inspection company we hired couldn't find as well as a storage space we didn't know was there. He looked at every little detail I could think of and all of the ones I would have never known existed. Armed with a computer, digital camera, screwdrivers, flashlight, and ladder, he checked out everything, making notes, taking pictures and documenting areas of concern along the way. Near the end, once he had figured out areas that needed the most attention, he showed me his findings, explaining what needed to be done (either by us, our handyman, or a specialized professional). I learned SO much. Then, he went back to his van, printed out and prepared our Home Inspection Report binder and emailed the PDF of it to us. The binder (and the report as a whole) is a true thing of beauty. Every single detail about our house is beautifully laid out and explained, easy to find and understand - we couldn't be happier and would recommend Charlie to anyone in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: We hired Charlie Glahe to do the home inspection and radon testing for the house we are under contract on. We wanted to know the good, the bad, the ugly - everything about it, top to bottom, roof to crawlspace.
