I employed Taylor Home Improvement to build a custom media cabinet for our home. I am extremely unhappy with the quality of the workmanship. Here are some of the major problems with the job that was performed: 1. The materials used to build the cabinet were excellent, however the workmanship and assembly were below average. 2. The cabinet was not built to my specifications. I requested specific features, but my requests were ignored. Taylor Home Improvement decided on their own to build the cabinet the way they wanted without checking with me first. 3. There are four separate cabinet sections joined together to make the media cabinet. Two of the cabinets have adjustable shelves and the other two cabinet pieces have two drawers each. The cabinet pieces with the drawers do not have plywood bottoms or a sufficient number of corner blocks to maintain the integrity of the cabinet boxes (squareness). Hence, some of the drawers do not close evenly. 4. The wood counter top that covers the assembled media cabinet is not deep enough. There is insufficient overhang to cover the cabinet drawers. Mr. Taylor left my home and did not attach the counter top to the cabinets. I was not aware of this until after he left. He never indicated that he would be coming back to do this. There are an insufficient number of corner gussets; because of this, the counter top cannot be easily attached to the media cabinet. I regret that this happened. I will now have to find someone to correct these problems.
