The work was done as I expected. Needless to say I have been happy with the work the Reitz roofing team has done for me. I have had two of personal houses roofed over the past eight years. I also have had many of my families rental properties roofed by Reitz roofing and all I can say is that they are easy to work with, affordable, and do high quality work.

Excellent. I'm a top producing Realtor in the Denver area. I work with Reitz because they show up on time, they are kind to my customers and they put on a solid roof. With so many fly by night roofing companies, I choose to work with them because I know in 10 years if there is a problem, Reitz will be there to take care of it.  AJ Stiffler, Keller Williams Downtown Denver

The date of service was pushed back a few times do to the lack of supplies but once everything was on site it went smoothly.

Fantastic! I used Reitz a few months ago at the recommendation of my realtor when selling my house. They were able to come at at short notice and do the repairs. In our new house we had a small leak in the roof. I tried another A rated Angie's list provider and they said they were coming but never showed up. Reitz was wonderful...they came out to look at it the day after I called and had it fixed 2 weeks after I accepted their bid. They are professional, reliable and do good work!

Tucker from Reitz Roofing arrived exactly when he said he would to provide estimate.  Very knowledgable and professional and emailed estimate same day.  We had a little trouble scheduling the work to be done - communication between Reitz office and technician wasn't great, but he did a very professional job.  We've actually had this company work on our tough-to-maintain flat roof in the past and have been very pleased with the quality of their work.

I would not recommend this company or use this company again. Through our contract negotiation when we purchased our home the check went directly to the roofing company at closing. We selected this company based on our real estate agent's recommendation that their bids were always the lowest.
From the beginning we had issues:
  1. - workers showed up unannounced with no attempt at communicating with us or setting up a time to complete work. I had to call the company to have them show up at a time that worked with our schedule.
- workers spilled asphalt and tar into my house while working on the solar lighting. To this day still have black stains in tub.
- Based on Bernie Reitz's recommendation paid an extra $700 to have vents installed in roof to prevent damage during hot summers. Asphalt shingles were removed and never replaced.
- Was never given an opportunity to do a post-work inspection.
- We live in a duplex. Neighbor decided to work with this company as well for continuity, about a month after our work was completed. While performing the work for our neighbor's roof, Bernie actually stopped by and noticed that part of our roofing had not been completed (one of three tiers). During completion of this work our second skylight was damaged, now has crack with hole. While I appreciate that Bernie pointed this out and did the right thing by trying to get the unfinished work done, this is an indicator of how haphazard the management seemed to be.
- While doing our neighbor's roof my mother-in-law noticed that one of the workers was using my shop broom. This was removed from my porch and never returned. Spoke to Bernie about it and he said if I brought him a receipt he would re-imburse me. I would have appreciated it either returned or him replacing the broom himself and delivering it.
- In general, difficult to contact the company. Seemed like their workers received little oversight and quality control a big issue.
- To top it off, after having to have another company come in and complete the work that was unfinished found out the price was not even that competitive.

I was really impressed, the roofers were working whole day, in the heat, and they didn't take a break the first day, because they had to seal it up. I was really impressed with their hard work and punctuality.

Reitz Roofing did a great job.  I have had no roof problems in the 1 and a half years since this work was done.   The work was VERY neatly done in one day.  No yard cleanup was  necessary afterward on my part, which was a nice surprise considering this involved a tear-off.  Bernie Reitz personally did the sealing work on the house, without charge, since I was having the garage work done.
I have used Reitz Roofing before for work on this and two other houses (one flat-roofed, one with ceramic tiles).  The work was also professionally and promptly completed, at a cost lower than competing bids.  Reitz Roofing will absolutely be my first  call for any future roofing work.

They caused some damage to the deck, however they took responsibilty and are in the process of fixing it. They are friendly, courteous, prompt, and professional. Everything you would hope for.

Not many contractors I've come across made me feel that they truely care about taking care of me the way Bernie, and Reitz Roofing did.  Bernie provided a quote that I thought was more than fair, did the work around my schedule even though I know they were scheduling further out, and were just great to deal with from start to finish.  I could not recommend them highly enough.

They did a good job of putting it down and they didn’t get the seams correct but their owner came back about a week later after I called them and he fixed that.

I’ve used them many times in the past and now I’m using someone else only because they found the damage.  I’ve been really happy with Reitz Roofing Inc.  They don’t always get back to me and stuff as I would have liked them to, but other than that, I’ve used them for years on most of my roofs actually.  I will use them again in the future.  They didn’t charge me anything when they patched my roof.  I didn’t have them do my roof because they didn’t realize that it was hill damaged, and it was still leaking.  They did the work so that it didn’t leak and that went fine, but the rest of the roof is leaking.  They only did what I had asked them to, which was to take a look as to why it was leaking, but they missed the hill damage and three other companies came in and did the hill damage.  I let the guy find the hill damage and it was funky.  It’s a flat roof and it’s not a normal roof.  I would recommend them and they did a fine job the last time.  They were alright but I didn’t go up there and look.  It was fine and they were good.  They don’t get back to me right away and sometimes they can’t schedule me, but that’s with every roofer right at the moment.  They didn’t get back to me fast enough but overall they were good.  They are hard to get a hold of sometimes.  They are not very responsive sometimes and they don’t get back to you right away.

I will give them F.  They are not good for the third time.  The first time we hired them to replace a part on the roof.  Part of our roof is ceramic tile, and part of the roof is black.  They replaced the black part of the roof.  They started it and then didn’t finish it for a year.  We called them a lot of times, and they never returned our calls.  Suddenly, when they did get back to us, they ended up letting us not to pay for the roof.  They finished it, and made good work on it, so that was okay.  The skylights that they installed are now leaking and coming undone.  It has caused internal damaged to my house, which is a part of what I am having fixed.  I have a drywall to repair because of water damage.  I also have to redo the interior of the skylights, and seal the outside again.  When the rains came, my roof was leaking.  Two years ago in 2009, I had them come back and fix the part of the roof that they didn't do right, which is causing leakage.  This year same thing happened in the same place, and they wanting to charge me.  I don’t think so that is right.  They should come back and fix what they didn't do right in the first place.  I have argued with them about not paying them.  I really feel they should pay for the work that is been done on my house on the interiors, which was caused by their inaptitude in putting the roof on correctly.  They wanting me to pay $250 for them to come back out to fix the leak that they should have fixed two years ago that I did pay them for.  It is just a nightmare.  I am not quite sure of how to go about all of that.  They put in four skylights.  All four of them are in the need of repair and sealing around the perimeter on the outside as well as on the inside.  The paint on the inside of the skylight is chipping off, and it needs to be sealed better, so I am having a contractor redo the drywall on the inside, or put drywall on the inside right now, so it will stop leaking.  Then he is going to seal the exterior and the interior.  They first did our work in 2009, and then they never returned our calls when we tried contacting them.  Apparently, they had some sort of family issue, and we took pity on them.  We felt as long as they are going to come back and finish it; it should be good.  They didn't charge us for the roof, so far that part they made it good.  They didn't charge us anything for the partial roof that they had put on.  Problem is where the slant part of the roof meets the flat part of the roof, which they replaced, and it started leaking.  The water was pouring in through the drywall inside the house, so we called them to fix it, and this was in 2009.  They came out and elatedly fixed the roof.  I don't remember if it leaked last summer because my husband was very ill.  This summer when we had the monsoon, the water just came pouring in the same place that it had before.  This time it has caused a lot of interior damage.  I am looking at it right now where half of the wall plastered had to removed, a foot of the ceiling had to be removed, and three seep down on the wall on both side of the wall had to be removed and it is going to dry walled now.  Then the inside of the house there is another place that needs to be fixed, which was leaking inside a doorway that goes from the kitchen to the garage.  The water was leaking through the doorframe, and has caused the paint to bubble, which needs to be fixed.  I will neither use them nor recommend them.

Reitz did a good job. There was some damage to the house next door but they paid for any repairs. All seems pretty good, they were on time, and when we did need them to do something, the responded well.

I have used these folks before for an even smaller job about a year ago. They are a bit tough to get to return a phone call - we left a message and then called them back several days later and got someone on the phone. They did though send someone out very quickly to assess the damage and offered to do the work at what we felt was a very reasonable basis. The written estimate was emailed to us the same day and work was completed very quickly thereafter. Although both jobs were relatively small I would not hesitate to have them come out to work on a larger job as long as their estimate was competitively priced. I would also not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Reitz might be fine to do simple roofing (shingle tear-off and replacement). But their communication and coordination was poor, which led to many errors in how the job was to be performed (specific to the attic vents that I had designated and areas to receive flashing). I was told, "I just roof, I don't know about ventilation." Well, every roofer should; your attic and roof vents work integrally. They left my garage gutter hanging, dumped snow all over my grill, had to redo one vent due to poor quality workmanship, and left debris everywhere. Ultimately they made it right with numerous phone calls and prodding. But working with ANY contractor shouldn't be this hard. I guess I got what I paid for...

We were impressed at how quickly the roof was replaced. During work they were also to replace a rusted-out flu. Upon inspection we found that the flu had merely been painted. Sellers were able to contact Reitz and this was corrected. At the end of Feb 2010 (6 months after the roof was replaced) we received a notice from the City of Aurora indicating that the permit was expiring in 30 days and a final inspection had not been completed. I phoned Reitz and spoke to Jeanie, who said basically no problem they would get it scheduled the next week. Here I am, 2 weeks later and after speaking with the City of Aurora found that the inspection has not been scheduled. After speaking with Jeanie again today the excuse given was "there was a lot of weather". According to my memory and the weather channel - the temps last week were mid to high 50's and there hasn't been any snow..so maybe the sun prohibited them from getting on the roof?! I've scheduled the inspection myself and pray it passes because I DO NOT want to contact them to try to have anything redone.
