Met to go over project in detail.  Got a verbal estimate.  Did not provide a written estimate.  Asked for payment each time he came then didn't complete work.  Holes drilled in wrong places, thru new drywall, wires left open and hot out of outlet/switch areas, wanted handyman to move outlets he put in too low for counter, did not use proper electrical hookups for cooktop and oven, left wires loose in attic with no hook up to light switch, in short took every short cut he could, did poor work, and then wanted to charge above what the estimate was.  Subsequent HVAC contractor and new electrician were appalled at how the job was left and the work that was done.  When contacted by phone about the unfinished work, he hung up on me.
I would not recommend this electrician to anyone.

He did contact me right away, showed on time for the appointment, and stayed as long as was necessary to complete the job.  However, I probably wouldn't use the company in the future because the electrician didn't seem very knowledgeable.  Specifically, we aren't able to use the remotes that came with the fans which he claimed was due to some wiring issues.  What's more is that it would have been necessary for him to make a return trip to address the wiring problem which would mean additional charges.  Thus, we didn't use him again.

That went great. They installed a fan. They also installed an electrical box. 3 electricians came out and they were here for about an hour. They were professional and they cleaned up very well too. They were on time.

The $59 big deal for one-hour of work was breached by a half hour or so, for which I was charged a high rate.  The outlets don't work properly.  Now I have to turn on a bedroom switch to get my hall lights to work.  I'll never use a big deal offer again.  Better to know the hourly rate and total time of a proposed project, then depend on initial discounted services followed by inflated per hour work that is done at a sub-par level.

Wish there was more to tell, but he basically took the original inspection and went over those things that had been indicated as needing correcting to ensure they had been. We needed the inspection to close out our FHA 203 loan.
Mr. Hardesty was prompt and professional, and seemed like a nice fellow.

This was an Angie's List coupon deal.  He ignored my instructions that the jobs I most wanted done required a tall ladder.  Fortunately I had some other fixture installations I wanted done that did not require such a ladder.  Otherwise, this might have been a complete fiasco.   He did do a good job of those installations, minimizing damage to the walls and ceiling involved.  So I might hire him again to do a job of that kind that does not require substantial ladders.
However, it seems that he does not own ladders and obviously it was annoying that my instructions about the need for ladders to do the jobs I most needed doing were ignored.  The answer about employing again is really "maybe" rather than "yes" but you do not offer that option.

They arrived and assessed the situation. It took a very short period of time to replace the box. They cleaned up and left.

Electrician was punctual and did good work.

The 4-foot fluorescent fixture (purchased by me) was ready and waiting and the area was clear to work.  The job was completed in approx 25 minutes.

I purchased a coupon special for $99 which entitled me to 2 hours' work, a value of $190.  When I began inquiring about some other jobs (adding outdoor receptacle, checking capacity for another 220v) I was told that I had already received my $99 value, although I mentioned the coupon supposedly represented $190 value.

As I said, the work performed was good, so I can't complain about the job.  However, I think I could have had the fixture installed for under $99, let alone $190.

Upon arrival, the electrician parked in front of our house and sat in his idling truck for about 15 minutes.  At the scheduled time, he rang our bell and our hour of purchased time started.  He was nice and polite and responded to our requests. He installed a dimmer switch quickly and it works just fine.  He reviewed our electrical set up and gave us an estimate to add more outlets in our basement.
The work was fine but, we would not hire him again because he idled his truck in front of our house for far too long and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke.  In addition, I felt like he spoke to me in a condescending fashion.  My husband noticed it too.

Hardesty was very professional and quick. We felt confident that the fixtures were safely being installed. Hardesty was very good about ensuring the fixtures were at the appropriate heights for our tastes. Would highly recommend!

It went very well.  He had some good ideas of what would and would not work in regards to potential drywall repairs, etc.  He did a very good job of cleaning up, make sure our dogs weren't let out while he went in and out.

I called him last week to schedule service, and he never returned my call. When I tried again, the phone was answered but I only heard loud music on the line. When I finally got in touch with him, he said that he would not honor the deal and that Angie's List shouldn't be selling them. When I asked why he wasn't honoring them, he rudely replied: "Because they shouldn't be selling them, are you deaf?" Then, he hung up on me.

I had a specific problem that needed to be fixed. He fixed it. Then he tried to charge me an extra $60! I had something else that needed to be fixed and he told me it would be $150 to fix that. I told him I didn't need it that bad. When I said no to that, he said he needed the $60 for the other work that was done because it wasn't covered by the Big Deal. I feel like he took advantage of me. I finally caved in and paid him to do the extra work for $150 and gave him the $60 extra for the work. I don't know why I did it. He also smelled really bad of cigarettes.

I purchased the "$99 for 2 Hours of Licensed, Professional Electrical Labor!".  We only had a few items in our house that needed to be fixed, but knew that my boyfriend and I couldn't handle them. I thought this was a great deal so I purchased it.  The first time I called Stephen, he rearranged his schedule to fit me in, but due to a family emergency, I had to cancel on him.  When I was back in town, I called him and didn't hear from him.  I called him again and he answered and set me up for the next day!  I'm very happy with the service we received.  The work did not fill up the full two hours, but I did not mind since we really didn't have much for him.  He did a great job, fixed issues that were long overdue to be fixed, and showed my boyfriend how to fix them in case there was ever another problem like this.  I would definitely call him again.

The pull chain on the light in the basement ,(which is unfinished) pulled out of the box and figured it would be better to install a on/off switch. Made an appointment With Hardesty Electric to do the job. Stephen was on time for the appointment and did install the new switch in less than 45 minutes, I also asked him for an estimate to install two lights on a stairway, the time for that was maybe 5 min.

Stephen stated it would be an additional $50.00, I asked him if it was for the material which he said it was. I feel that the $59.00 big deal from Angies List for 1 hour of labor plus the $50 bucks for probably 10 ft. of electrical wire. 1 plastic box, 1 on/off switch and switch plate which I could have purchased at Home Depot for less than $10 bucks was very steep. Guess when you want an electrician that carries a masters license that does not give a receipt for the services rendered, (which I didn't ask for but thought it was odd for a licensed company not to do),  that's what you have to expect to pay. Live and learn!

We were fortunate enough to secure an Angie's List coupon for this company.  We just purchased our first home and needed to update all of the old-fashioned lighting with more modern fixtures.  Stephen quickly removed fixtures that were giving us a hard time when trying to remove ourselves.  He made the suggestion to not install a ceiling fan with the accompanying remote control as he has experienced the remote breaking and then impacting use of the ceiling fan.  We appreciated that insight as we want to install with the most utility possible.  Stephen was very kind and spent time consulting with us about other lighting projects we had in mind.  I know we will definitely reach out to him when we are ready to move forward with those plans.

Steve came the same day i called to let me know what I needed to do.  He let me do the work that I could and then came in a week or so later and did the work that required more expertise.  He was able to fix the light switches on the ceiling fan lights.  I had tried to install the lights previously without success.  The problem was the wiring at the light switch.
