Daniel & Donna's Plumbing Service

Called Daniel to replace a failing water heater. He provided same-day service, and arrived when he said he would. After doing my own research I found the Daniel gave me excellent value for the quality of work he provided me with. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I am so glad I found this local, family business. I will never go anywhere else for my residential plumbing needs.

Unless you have a thing for highway robbery and paying THREE times the generally accepted rate for a third-rate job, do NOT call Daniel & Donna Plumbing Services. Daniel is a mansplaining crook who duped this single mom into paying $4404 to replace two sump pumps and a toilet valve. I don’t know that the pumps actually needed to be replaced or whether he replaced them with second-hand failing equipment but I do know that he is an incompetent racketeer whose shoddy workmanship failed in under a year. I called him to make it right and he gave me the the blame-shifting run around for 3 weeks. (As evidenced by his responses to negative social media reviews, he is indeed an expert at that). He tried to evade responsibility by claiming I had electrical issues. I put him in touch with my licensed journeyman electrician and after Daniel spoke with him, he called me to say that the electrician doesn’t know what he is talking about. He tried to blame me for not following his recommendation to re-route sump pump discharge water through my in-home piping; which is incidentally illegal in Broomfield County. He then had the audacity, after pocketing $1950 per hour in labor the first time around, to tell me there will be labor costs involved with inspecting, replacing or repairing the pump. I asked for a written estimate of said labor charges and never heard back. I hired a competent plumber to fix Daniel’s failed install. It was $455 in labor and $250 for the pump. Had Daniel not objectively failed, I never would have known parts were under $300; that’s on me. If I did, I wouldn’t have paid what amounts to $1950 PER HOUR for the dis-service Daniel & Donnas Plumbing “Service.” My experience is sad but well documented and no joke. Do not let these people in your home. You will lose. Daniel is a smooth-talking master plumber/manipulator. I can almost guarantee his comment to this review will deny all liability, and fail to take any responsibility. May that also be a red flag warning to anyone in the market for a plumber, at any time, for anything.

He kept delaying his arrival time. The day before he said he could be there by noon. By 3pm on the day of service I had to make a decision because I wasn't going to be available to talk to him after 3:30. I needed to know approximately what it would cost, so I could authorize the work. Being the owner, I thought Doug could give me an approximation of how long it would take, he had already quoted his rate at $180/hour. When I told him I wouldn't be available to authorize after that point he said about 4 hours, so $720. I thought he meant UP TO 4 hours. No, he meant he was charging me $720 regardless. He arrived at 3:30p according to my renters, and was gone by 6pm, 2.5 hours. When I confronted him about overcharging me he claimed it was a "bid price", and I was lucky it wasn't more than 4 hours because it would cost more. I won't use this company again.

Daniel has worked in our home twice. The first was to re-plumb the laundry room to add a drain stack for the washing machine and redo the drain on the utility sink which had mostly clogged because the washer had been draining into the sink for 50 years. We have had no problems in the laundry room for over two years now.  
The second job was to repair the water main that had developed a leak just on the outside of the house where the copper pipe entered the concrete foundation.  The work required demoing the 8 inch thick concrete foundation wall around the water main.  It was dusty work and Daniel did a good job of covering things in the basement to keep them clean and of cleaning up after the work was over.  My only complain was I did not realize that I was going to need to patch the hole in the concrete around the water main after he was done.  This was not a hard job and I'm sure I saved money by doing it myself, I just didn't realize that I was going to need to do it.  Despite this miscommunication, I will call Daniel the next time I need a plumber.

I called him and he showed up on time made what turned out to be difficult repairs. I called him for the toilet only and the leak happened before he got to the house. Dan went right to work and did both repairs even though we were only on he schedule for the toilet. I was very happy with his work and would use him again in the future.

I have used Donna and Daniel's on numerous occasions.  They are the best. Great communication! Great service!  The type of people you want to work with - can't say enough good things.

Overall it went OK, but we were not happy with paying for the trip(s) to the hardware store, so the price seemed high for what we had done. Also, Daniel had a very high energy vibe in a way that did not click with us.

We had a growing water damage problem in a downstairs ceiling, and wanted to get the source identified and problem solved. Daniel extended his day to visit my home 3 hours after I called. After methodically excluding sources, he determined it was a part of my refrigerator that was leaking. He not only help take the part off for me to get replaced, but he also identified two leak sources downstairs in the drain pipe. He stayed long enough to fix one, and then returned a week later to fix the second drain leak with no travel charge.

Call back in minutes, showed up exactly on time the same day, fix the repair in under an hour. Have little comparision since I have not hired plummer before, but $90/hour was quoted with $60 travel fee seems high. However this is what he quoted before hired him and was what I paid (plus a part)

Daniel came within a couple of hours of calling him. He quickly determined the problem was a crack that had caused a leak, and rapidly repaired it. He was professional, honest in the assessment, and efficient in remediating the problem.

We always get excellent service from Daniel, and this was not an exception. Daniel is a great guy and always does his best not only to fix the problem but tell us what caused the problem and how to avoid it in the future (easy in this case!). We called in the morning, and he was out by 2:00 that afternoon. Daniel is always careful not to make a mess, and billing and pricing are very fair. They have excellent service!
