We needed an updated bathroom.  I bought subway tiles (known for a clean and classic look) for the tub surround.  Unfortunately, Nick installed them crooked and not flushed to the wall.  After I complained about it, he and his son had sorry excuses, such as,'well the tile come in different shapes and widths......(paraphrasing)........and its the best we can do.'  Our niche (to hold shampoo and soap) in the wall, also a horrible job.  It sticks out like a sore thumb instead of blending into the wall seamlessly.  We also, at least this time, caught him BEFORE grouting the floor tile, and made him redo it because it was clearly crooked. He did not use ANY spacers until we told him to.  Other work such as bathroom fixtures were slightly crooked and the handles to turn the shower on/off were placed the wrong direction,which I think he did last to just make a fool of us.  I was tired of complaining about things, I just wanted him out.  I didn't pay him all the labor he quoted, but I am still kicking myself for paying him even Half the money I did.  I do have to say that we used him for another project - adding onto an existing bath, but there was little to no tile work involved with that, he just did a shower insert,otherwise, we would not have used him again.  He also left a trail of dirt everyday on my wood floors and didn't even bother putting down cloths/rugs to catch some of it.   We caught them dumping the dirty tile water (from cutting pieces with the saw) in our red rocks in our yard!!! unbelievable......I would NEVER recommend him to anyone.
