Completely unprofessional and incompetent workmanship. We called to receive an estimate on replacing or sealing a side garage door and some repair work on the front door, including changing all of the hardware. We already purchased the hardware, which I showed him. Shane suggested he could "tune up" the garage door, which no other company said they could do and I went with him. His estimate was very vague and only said "repair door" and didn't include details we discussed such as sanding and repairing the hinge. He also never mentioned the doors were not cut right and would always have a gap, which is why we wanted to replace them from the beginning. His estimate didn't specify install all new hardware for the front door, only mentioning the locks, but I attributed that to his lack of detail. I even called before the job to let him know we needed the hinges changed as well and he said that wouldn't be a problem and never mentioned an additional cost. His repair to the garage door was shoddy, with a large gap still present and he didn't sand or put on a strike plate. On the front doors he installed new handles, which were not level with each other, and said he would have to come back for the barrel locks and hinges. At that point he mentioned charging an additional $150 for the hinges and when I told him I specified all hardware from day one, he said multiple times he would come back and do it for free. We gave him a check for $870 essentially for a piece of wood between door and uneven door handles, then I had to go to Home Depot to buy a strike plate and weather stripping. He scheduled an appointment the following week to come back to finish, cancelled within a few hours notice, then came a day later and said it would cost an additional $200. I highly recommend you use a different Handyman company and if you do use Shane, make sure your estimate is very detailed as he does not remember what he tells customers, is not professional enough to write a proper estimate, and will not complete the work he was hired to perform without trying to get additional money. We are going to have to hire someone else to come out and finish his job.

Shane arrived when scheduled and got right to working on my door problem. I will definitely hire him next time I need repairs. He also explained why the door had been broken due to an improperly placed safety chain. He quickly remedied the situation and the door has been working as it should.
