Not very happy with them. They installed a new Lennox last year and sent up their "best" installers. They showed up late, left a huge mess both inside and outside of my house, but worst of all, they didn't bother to check the gas supply line. I didn't notice that there was a gas leak until the next day (a Saturday) and by then, my entire basement was full of gas fumes. I turned off the supply line and then called them and left an emergency message about the leak, but they didn't show up until the following Monday. When the new technician showed up on Monday, he was shocked at the shoddy workmanship that the techs and had to completely replace the supply line. He assured me that the two techs that did the installation were "chewed out" by their manager. One year later, I had a duct cleaning company come out and noticed that the exhaust pipe was screwed into plenum access, so now I have two holes in my plenum. Unfortunately, there are no other furnace contractors that will service Lennox furnaces up in the mountains, so I have to use their overpriced service to have my annual servicing. I'd think twice about using these guys for any new install.
Response from Save Home Heat Company
"We are terribly sorry that this customer did not receive the level of expertise on his installation that our team normally provides. We pride ourselves on our knowledge, workmanship, and making sure we nail all of the details. That clearly did not happen in this case. We won't make excuses and have offered a sincere apology for this less than stellar experience. As soon as we learned there were concerns and shortcomings with our work we reached out to see if any additional corrections are needed. We will learn from this experience and continue to strive to do better."

In November, our furnace started having issues. I contacted three companies via Angie's list. Save Home Heat was the first to respond and make an appointment. We are a little our of their range, so their was potentially a dispatch charge. Not only were they prompt, they called to see if they could come early and they did! Gabe went into our crawl space and checked the furnace. He diagnosed the problems, discussed them with me, and fixed them. Since service was needed, the dispatch fee was reimbursed. We have not had any problems since his repair and I really appreciated the fact that he answered all my questions, discussed what he was doing and had observed, and emailed a detailed invoice, with photos ($350). We ordered a Nest thermostat and made an appointment with SHH to install it. Kyler arrived promptly, discussed what was to be done, and installed the thermostat. Again, he was thorough and answered all of my questions ($200). There may be cheaper services out there, but we think such high quality service really pays for itself. SHH has an option for Pro Plan memberships that include annual furnace and AC tune ups, whole home electrical and plumbing inspection, etc. We plan to sign up for that in the near future.

The technician arrived on schedule and performed a major upgrade of our home electrical system, including replacement of our breaker box and installation of new circuit breakers to bring the house up to 2018 code. In addition, the technician improved the connection to the underground power feed from Excel to allow for expansion and shrinkage of the clay under our house. The technician was obviously competent and easy to work with. When the work was complete, he showed how to use the new features of the system.

They came as soon as possible the morning after I had to sleep on the sofa near the wood stove. An expensive part had to be replaced. When a zone failed even after that, the repairman came out that very morning to fix it, and replaced the malfunctioning part. The repairman was careful to explain exactly what went on so that I would understand the repairs and replacement parts he was proposing.

The service tech was very professional, knew his trade and had my boiler back up and running in very quickly. He answered all of my questions in clear understandable terms and even gave me advice on basic homeowner maintenance and checks. I feel confident that any future boiler problems will be handled quickly and correctly.

They were the highest of the quotes I got and really pushed this annual membership/maintenance package they have and tried to up-sell me on repair. I was misquoted estimates a couple of times. They were a little cagey about coming back out to tweak a repair to my satisfaction -- I asked for help outside of the 30 day warranty which is my fault, but they also tried to reframe it as a different problem. Hrm.
Response from Save Home Heat Company
"We reached out to the customer to see if we could clear up any issues. We also offered to send a plumber back at no cost to make sure that any issues were resolved. She said everything was actually fine, and that she intended to modify this review. In case any issue returns, we invite her to reach back out to us."

We work with this company for like 30 years. They come out semi-annually. We have a contract with them. We have used them for 35 years and we have not shopped around. This is our 3rd home that they have done our HVAC. They are responsive. They are very conscientious. They are very well trained. They are very personable. We have not had problems with them. They have been a little late sometimes on the twice a year cycle.

Very responsive to my call for help. Service man was at my front door about 20 minutes after I called. He did attentive, good quality work. The cost was more than I was expecting.

Our AC stopped working. We found Save Home Heat on Angie's list. A tech came out the next day and told us the compressor was going out, which he said caused the capacitor to fail. The tech installed a new capacitor and charged $438.00 for the part, trip charge and about 20 minutes of work. He said the whole AC unit would probably fail within a week unless we replaced the compressor, etc. He gave us a bid of $6061.00 for a new system. He then told us they would waive the $438.00 charge for the new capicitor if we purchased the new system then and there, which required a 15% downpayment. We've since had the unit inspected and serviced by a reputable HVAC company. They could find nothing wrong with the compressor or the system; and also told us the compacitors sometime fail for no apparent reason. That tech said their company would charge approx $150 for an new capacitor installed (including trip charge) and then gave us a quote of approx $3500 for the same exact unit and work (including the heat load calculation) Save Home proposed. Save Home are rip off artist - taking advantage of homeowners in distress! Be aware!
Response from Save Home Heat Company
"The general parameters of our visit, as described by this customer, are accurate. We provided next day service, we discussed repair versus replacement options, we quoted prices, the customer elected to move ahead, the work was successfully completed that day--and yes, we do request a 15% deposit if the customer decides to have a new system installed. However, we have a clearly different opinion of the quality of our organization. This customer'[Member Information Removed] air conditioner was over twenty years old, and as we would do for any customer, we discussed the options associated with repairing versus replacing. Review sites are typically the realm of the unhappy instead of the happy, yet we maintain a solid history of reviews on this and other sites. Our customers are, almost without exception, very pleased with how we go through this discussion process, the quality and integrity of our workers, and the actual quality of our work. We are also confident that our pricing is fair in relation to the services and resources we provide. We do wonder, after 37 years of operating our business, how the other HVAC company that was alluded to is able to exist under the price structure mentioned in the review. It would not be possible for us to maintain our quality standards at those low price points (such as providing our employees a wide variety of regular technical training, and offering them benefits to ensure they remain at the top of their profession, ready to provide excellent customer-focused service; 24-hour emergency service in case of issues after installation; pulling permits on all installations and following all codes; use of licensed electricians for electrical work; standardized procedures both in our office and in the field; fully planned replacement systems to ensure optimal performance; expert assistance navigating valuable utility company and manufacturer rebate programs, etc). Those low prices would suggest to us that the same quality standards are not met on a consistent basis by the other company mentioned. We're disappointed that this customer did not feel our process was right for them. We discussed the customer'[Member Information Removed] feedback during our weekly tech training meeting the day after the review was posted, to ensure we follow a sound process. Every day, we work to keep learning."

They answered the phone! Scott was very nice and put us on the cancellation list, luckily Dean was able to come out on the same day and was also very nice and all that needed to be done was to change our filters fortunately! We would use this company again.

They worked out fine, and they did an excellent job. I have had them for a couple of years. They come twice a year. One is for the AC, and the other is for the furnace. I would give them an A, but their charges are high. I will not be using them again. I feel that they are too expensive. One worker came. The work took about an hour and fifteen minutes to complete. The area was very clean. It was just an ordinary check up. Can't say that anything really stood out.
Response from Save Home Heat Company
"We think the customer summed it up perfectly: "They worked out fine, and they did an excellent job." We believe our prices are very reasonable and are disappointed that doing a great job at the stated price earned us a 'B' grade."

They did a very good job. The salesman came out, told me what I needed and he gave me a firm price, along with a time I could expect the work to be done. Then when the time came to do it, I put down a deposit, it was like $600 or something. They sent out a team of two men and removed the old furnace from the crawl space, which is no easy task, I could tell you. Then they put in a new furnace, it took them about maybe 3 ½ to 4 hours. They cleaned up after themselves, it came with a full warranty. Everything was good, I’d do it again!
