McGuckin personnel were extremely helpful in helping us find the material that matched our current woodwork, and were able to determine exactly how much of each type of molding we needed to buy. They also explained to us, very clearly, the steps involved in taking out the old pieces, measuring and installing the new pieces, and the finish work involved.

I was afraid to go into McGuckins because of the price, but was very pleasantly surprised with the discounting the designer gave us, as well as her exceptional level of service and willingness to work with us on color scheme and finding just the right tile and fittings. Getting the design input was one of our best choices in this kitchen!

McGuckin's Hardware employs an attentive and knowledgeable staff. When deciding what to garden (as a first-timer) a staff member helped me select the appropriate type of gardening supplies, as well as what type of garden would be most successful for me. They are very accommodating. They will help you to your car without you having to ask. The store itself has a great selection of home improvement supplies/projects, reasonably priced items, quality goods, and is well-staffed (there are always several employees navigating customers through the store's many areas or answering questions). I can't recommend this store enough.

I was not satisfied with the outcome of my request for repair of my lawnmower. The repairman did not contact me as I requested and did not address the issues I wanted looked at. I found out that McGuckin subcontracts their lawnmower repair to an employee who does the work on a part-time basis. He's not in the store to hear the nature of the problem and to ensure that he knows what needs to be fixed. This work was not up to the usual high standard that McGuckin usually delivers. I recommend that they either change their service provider or stop offering the service.

Both were repaired and ready for pick up in less than a week. They now work fine.

The knives were very sharp. They didn't stay very sharp for long, but I think that's because they aren't very high quality knives. They did the job in a few days. They didn't call me to say that the knives were done, like they said they would, but maybe they would have called if I hadn't come in and asked if they were done.

They were very helpful. They offered to help take the blower out of the car and also to put it back after the work was done. The blower works fine, starts up immediately and does what it's supposed to do. The price was lower than I expected. The overall experience was very positive. The only negative was the person who took the blower didn't know when it would be done - 1 week or 2. It was 1 week.

THE INITIAL DESIGNS WERE PREPARED QUICKLY AND ACCURATELY. WHEN ADDITIONAL CHANGES WERE REQUIRED, THOSE CHANGES WERE IMPLEMENTED PROMPTLY. THE MATERIALS FOR THE PROJECT WERE AVAILABLE ON TIME AND AS PROMISED. WHEN ADDITIONAL MATERIALS WERE REQUIRED THOSE WERE ALSO MADE AVAILABLE QUICKLY.
